I loved the first movie, and I am a fan of Broken Lizard, but this was nowhere near as good as the original.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A cult classic that took 17 years to get a sequel. Written/directed/co-starring Jay Chandrasekhar. Pretty much all your favorites are back and now with more cameos and you throw in a well‍‍‍ ‍‍‍known like Rob Lowe and it a hilarity multiplier.

Plot: After an incident involving of all people Fred Savage your favorite Vermont state troopers find themselves fired and working construction gigs. Thanks to an unforeseen border expansion into Canada and a need of an American police presence the gang finds themselves back on the job and then the real plot and shenanigans commence.

To the point: Despite the gap between one film to the next this movie did not disappoint and really recaptured the spirit of the first film rather than trying to be over the top or radically something else. It’s a very lighthearted but hardcore comedy that reignited the nostalgia. Worth seeing for a great laugh.

Chandrasekhar's subplot is insultingly transphobic and just generally baffling as to why it was chosen. Despite all that, it does provide the laughs. Expand

As much as I like the first one, the sequel lacks humor. Barely a laugh throughout. Not even worth a second watch.

The stereotypes for "Canadians" are bad, but that is half the fun. The overall movie was okay and almost by the numbers. They try a misdirect for the climax, but it's quite obvious. It's not nearly as good as the first movie, but it's good enough for at least one viewing. Expand
