I gave it a 9 because I thought the first was just a little better. But one of the best comedy sequels out there. Just pure comedy, no need for drama in this one.

The first is a classic, if you expect this to come close you will hate it. If this film was not a sequel it would get fairly high praise.

Very funny, worth your money.

These guys actually had to work hard to get this movie funded and brought to theaters. They didn't make this movie for a quick cash grab, they made it because they are true comedians. You won't regret paying to see this like you will if you see Amy Schumer's trash which I was forced to pay for in order to see Super Troopers, even my girlfriend liked Super Troopers better and that's saying a lot.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A cult classic that took 17 years to get a sequel. Written/directed/co-starring Jay Chandrasekhar. Pretty much all your favorites are back and now with more cameos and you throw in a well‍‍‍ ‍‍‍known like Rob Lowe and it a hilarity multiplier.

Plot: After an incident involving of all people Fred Savage your favorite Vermont state troopers find themselves fired and working construction gigs. Thanks to an unforeseen border expansion into Canada and a need of an American police presence the gang finds themselves back on the job and then the real plot and shenanigans commence.

To the point: Despite the gap between one film to the next this movie did not disappoint and really recaptured the spirit of the first film rather than trying to be over the top or radically something else. It’s a very lighthearted but hardcore comedy that reignited the nostalgia. Worth seeing for a great laugh.

Hilarious movie. This is what happens when PC obsessed bloated Hollywood studios get out of the way and writers get to write what they actually want. The entire theater laughed for 95% of the film. Absolutely going to see this one again.

I still had a good laugh but couldn't help but think maybe they shouldn't have tried to reference almost every joke from the first film. I do hope they get another chance though. It won't top the original but it's still worth seeing at least once if you're a fan. Expand

Now, whether it is as good as the first one? I'm afraid ISuper Troopers 2 manages to escape the curse of comedy sequels made several years after the original and is a funny little film and probably Broken Lizard's best since the original. Now, whether it is as good as the first one? I'm afraid I really can't say since its been so long since I've seen the original.

The film is full of the balls-to-the-wall crazy humor that the original had. There's so many jokes packed in this that one that doesn't fly is quickly replaced by that one that does. The new and returning cast is all game here, but again Kevin Heffernan steals the show as the half-crazed officer Farva. (Credit should also be given to classically trained Scottish actor Brian Cox for committing to the role of their commanding officer in this goofy flick.)

Now, this isn't is a perfect movie. As mentioned, the jokes are hit-and-miss. For instance, the second half of the opener is really funny but the first half is weird and the most awkward part of the film. As with most Broken Lizard movies there are a fair share of jokes that only appeal to teen boys or frat bros and those that were probably just funny only to the Broken Lizard guys (like the entirety of Club Dread. Remember Club Dread? What were they thinking?!) Also, there are some jabs at Canada that were just super lazy. I'm not saying this from a PC-perspective: the jokes were super weak as jokes in general. There is a brief scene where one character says something in a stereotypical Canadian way for a very brief moment and all the cops around her laughed good-naturedly. That whole scene just felt super-forced like the creators were insisting upon themselves.

Overall, a funny film but not one you have to rush to see.

This one is just the same jokes but regurgitated and way less funny. I know comedies don't have the best story but all I ask for is that it's entertaining which this was not as I found it to be boring. I would not recommend this movie especially if you've watched and loved the first. Such a bore and such bad jokes. This was let a down. I have the same response to every movie that people would love a a new movie in the series which is, "If you can't make it around the same or better quality, don't bother", and they shouldn't have bothered.
