The authenticity of this is so beautiful. I love what you are doing, and what you’re using your platform to achieve. When I watched this I cried, because for once I felt understood. I felt normal. This documentary is very honest and Selena is very vulnerable in sharing all her struggles with mental and physical health, but ultimately deciding to shared them with the hope of helping others that might feel the same.

If I had to describe this documentary in one word it would be POWERFUL because seeing all the challenges the Selena has gone through from her lupus, kidney transplant, bipolar disorder, and her anxiety and depression. Beautiful, heartbreaking, honest and real. It was very hard to watch it and see all the pain Selena had to go through. But as someone who struggles with mental health issues myself, it is giving hope. We are not alone and even though it's aBeautiful, heartbreaking, honest and real. We are not alone and even though it's a very difficult journey there's light at the end of the tunnel.

I only wish it was longer and not as rushed as it sometimes felt. I feel like there's more to it that we could've discovered - but I get that might've been something she was not comfortable with sharing after all, since talking about mental health is something very delicate. I wouldn't want to be seen as "fragile" and/or "crazy" by the entire world as well. But maybe there's hope for an extended director's cut in the future.… Expand

It's the most real thing I've ever seen. I suffer from many mental disorders, and one of them is Depression. I thank Selena for making something so great known and you can't imagine when she helped me.

It was so heartwarming, vulnerable and honest. It made me cry but it made me happy that she got out of all of that, it’s so empowering for the people out there fighting with anxiety, depression or health problems.

Até que enfim uma biografia de uma celebridade pop muito sensível e necessária. Ao focar no aspecto da saúde mental, este documentário se eleva a cima da média, e por mais que todo e qualquer tipo de obra desse tipo padeça com certo viés, a edição contornou a situação da melhor forma possível, não é apelativo como poderia facilmente ser, e também não nega os defeitos da própria Selena.
Até mesmo a progressão no tempo faz muito sentido aqui, uma vez que a saúde mental transbordou na época da pandemia.
Confesso que senti um pouco de falta das músicas dela, e também não sei até que ponto superestimaram sua influência social.
Mas o fato é que o documentário é muito gostoso de assistir, com mensagens até mesmo de profissionais da saúde, que ajudam o todo a tomar uma forma de política social. Recomendo muito.… Expand

In this documentary, it's possible to see in a realistic way the battles that Selena faced due to her depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder. If you are not a fan of her work or follow her life, probably you wouldn't notice that sheIn this documentary, it's possible to see in a realistic way the battles that Selena faced due to her depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder. If you are not a fan of her work or follow her life, probably you wouldn't notice that she struggles with anxiety and depression, but she was always open about it on interviews. People will keep thinking that celebrities don't struggle with mental health and that they have everything figured it out but they don't. They have and they are human too. So, if you want to watch a documentary where only truth is talked and shown, this is the one for you. You can see Selena's life struggles and you can also see all the physical pain she is forced to face due to lupus - an autoimmune disease that can affect multiple organs and tissues, such as the skin,kidneys, brain, and what the medication causes like fatigue, pain. You can clearly see that the pain is real and affects not just her body but her mind. The immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys healthy body tissue.I genuinely recommend watching this documentary as it is important to start the conversation about mental health. It is necessary to speak openly about this topic without it being something not important.
It's hard to deal daily with the feeling of emptiness, sadness, anxiety, and especially having the feeling of never being enough in something (whether in a relationship, at work, etc). I felt my heart break from start to finish during this documentary, because unfortunately i could relate a lot to those moments.
This documentary portrays all the battles that probably one of us has faced or faces daily because of our mind and reinforces the importance of mental health. Mental health is still an under-talked topic and little importance is given to this topic. People focus on physical health and forget how important it is to have a healthy mind.
It also shows that we will never know what battles the other person is facing, because having a smile on your face does not necessarily mean being happy.
