Too many references to count but this movie was, point black, a cinematic masterpiece, emphasis on the "cinema" part. Acting was great and it makes you want to hop into the Oasis.

Crazy how Spielberg is still killing it at his age. A fun sci-fi adventure with excellent CGI. I have read the book and can say the film does a good job translating it to the screen. Idea begins like in One Piece: A pioneer died has left behind his legacy with a quest. Then a classic abatement on the one side the protagonist versus the other side the bad guy who wants to commercialize the idea from his former employer.

This is perhaps a duty for every player. This film draws you into the story scene by scene, mainly due to the quality of the soundtrack and, most importantly, the absolutely wonderful visual effects. A beautiful and nostalgic movie, that covers every generations childhood. Showing old Nes classics and new games like Overwatch, it gives everybody in the audience despite their age something to relate to. After its creator, James Halliday, passed away, he hid three Easter eggs within the virtual world, with the prize for finding them being control over the OASIS and a vast fortune. Wade Watts, an 18-year-old "Gunter" (egg hunter) and his allies, as well as the nefarious Innovative Online Industries, led by Nolan Sorrento, compete to find the eggs. The film is filled with pop culture references and CGI, but the story and characters are thin and not particularly engaging. The actors, including Tye Sheridan, Olivia Cooke, and Ben Mendelsohn, give solid performances, but the romance is forced and the villain is cartoonish. The visuals are spectacular at times, but the final battle becomes tedious. The references and nods to pop culture are fun, but ultimately the movie is just an average, CGI-filled adventure with a thin story.
