I joined Disney+ especially for this movie. I canceled Disney+ again. No comparison with part 1 or part 2 of Predator.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I cannot understand how this B-movie is being well received. If you dont take things seriously, if you like marvel movies and if you just want to dribble to some entertainment for a couple of hours I guess there is value here.... I want to like it, I really do. But I just cant suspend my disbelief here. A plant that magically makes your body temperature drop INSTANTLY, so much so that an alien that 'sees heat' cannot see you. This plant makes your body heat disappear immediately. The entire plot hinges on this one ridiculous concept. Oh, by the way you can rip out a predators jaw and tooth and stab it with it without any leverage, with your fingers, while your entire body is pinned down, no effort, predators are made of paper... this movie really rubbed me the wrong way, and it is not because of the actors - I think they tried their best and are charming in their own ways, or the bad CGI (practical effects are on point in this movie though). Its the narrative.

I couldnt even bring myself to watch the last few minutes - because of how she dispatched the Predator.

100 pound girl kills massive predator. Ends up with even no scratch after multiple ordeals. Women strong, men bad, especially white men (depicted by cussing French trappers). The end. Everything else in the movie was padding. Camerawork was OK (only good thing), characters bland, dialogs bland, ridiculous situations, animals were obvious computer animations. Low effort writing in general.

End-thought: a women's strength is these days expressed in terms of men being weak, buffoons or idiotic, by bending natural rules and creating idiotic situations.

She has ZERO muscle mass or definition, yet can kick someone and they fly six feet!? She gets told she is not ready for what is about to happen, so the environment instantly teach that man a less about warning her. Silly man, this is a go whamen movie. Plausibility be damned.

The CGI is poor, the story is non-existant, and the director need to go back to school. Trachtenberg has the natives speaking English MOST of the time. But then he decides that the audience should be able to speak both Cherokee and French, as he cannot be bothered to include subtitles.

On a technical note, they had already established that Predators had plasma casters THOUSANDS of years before this movie took place. That they were not Neanderthals back then, and have not really evolved since then. So the artificiality of the Predator in this movie is plot armor. Making it critically stupid to the point where it is essentially responsible for defeating itself, is truly pathetic.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. In the first 30 minutes the protagonist fails to hunt and kill a deer, a bunny, a lioness and a bear but of course by then end of movie has the ability to kill a predator. While the predator is by far the least skilled, ugliest design, dumbest and most visually impaired of its kind.

No wonder the ship dropped this predator off in the beginning it wasnt to test his hunting skills, he was being kicked out of his own tribe for being an embarrassment. Which would end up being the most logical thing in the movie.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Really I love the first two films and their respective lore based on cannon from the comics.. this movie **** in it .avp was a weak film, avp requim sucked, predators was decent and the predator was just bad story.. but this goes to a new level... Predator can bare hand fight and kill a grizzly but cant knock out the protagonist who was knocked out twice, once by a rock and once by the fur trappers... Several of his blows should have incapacitated her.. then we have ****ty use of the traps grabbing the dogs tail? The CGI animals where atrocious especially the scene of the snakes eating the rodent . this was More like the yautja took their deformed disabled problem and dropped it on the planet as an experiment.. It was Big and dumb.. And then they proceed to **** on established Cannon with the pistol. Which already had a story and you guys chose not to make it and instead gave us this incredibly hard to get into story about a girl challenging cultural Norms because she has something to prove and becomess this parkour badass with skills a Chinese Monk would be proud of. And then the medicine GTFO out of here with that... The speed which it took affect ...ffs digestion to disperse materials through the blood is not instantaneous.. the movie for me gets 3/10 only because there's a few good scenes no Wonder it went straight to streaming Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm convinced people dropping 10's on this movie are doing it to try and counter the people who are planting 0's. Why do I say this? Because this movie is far, far from perfect. I finished it a couple of hours ago myself and honestly, I had trouble getting through it. I can't believe there's actually people claiming people dislike this movie cause of a female lead... Hello, Ripley would like a word with you. Difference is, she grew as a character, she wasn't introduced as this unlikeable Mary Sue who is out to prove something. Yes, I said Mary Sue. Why? Cause she can do everything better than every man in her tribe. She looks like she's 100 lbs at best and I'm expected to believe she can take down men twice her size with ease, or worse, a Predator who is probably closer to six times? The Predator overpowered a full grown grizzly with his bear (see what I did there?) hands. His bare hands! The lead even acknowledged this in the story, and yet they expect me to believe he wouldn't just snap her in two with minimal effort? Arnold was a massive powerhouse back in the day and he couldn't put a dent in a Predator when they went head to head. Oh, and remember, he was Special Ops, not just some hunter.

Anyways, I'll move on from the immersive breaking experience of believing a 100 lb woman could actually achieve the things she did in this movie. Let's instead tackle the sloppy plot. I give them props for the Easter Egg that was the pistol, but think about that for a moment... The elder Predator gave that to Danny Glover at the end of the second movie, how did they get it back from our new little Mary Sue?! Did they come back and kill her to take it as a trophy? Did the pistol just bounce around from owner to owner until it found its way into the hands of a victorious Predator?! I liked them being aware of the timeline, but they screwed up including it at all. Also, why was this Predator so stupid? Was he the redneck version of a Predator? "Hey, let's drop Jim-Bob on Earth and see what he does. Bet he runs around killing small wildlife before he realizes there's bigger and more deadly things to hunt." Speaking of wildlife...this movie is so stupid, it had a samurai styled showdown with a wolf. Yes, a WOLF. It was so bad I laughed but not for the reason they intended. Speaking of things that feel out of place...there's her doing parkour off trees, and apparently she was the first person to tie a rope to a melee weapon so she can pretend she's Scorpion from Mortal Kombat. Yes, I'm serious.

I could go on, but this would be sooooo much longer. I'll just raise a middle finger to the idea of her using the Predators tech against it. It's stupid to even imagine she knew exactly where the Predator would end up was beyond stupid. Yes, she set a pit trap, but she couldn't have known how deep it was or know how far up the Predator would rise up from it. How did anyone watch that and think that was awesome? I get turning off your brain to enjoy a movie, but this movie requires you to completely remove your brain and hold a drool cup right under your chin the whole time.

The only reason I left even a single point was because I actually liked some of the weaponry this Predator used. Its shield was freaking awesome! But, that's about it...the movie was bad, very bad. Maybe not The Predator bad, but pretty dang close. That makes it the second worst Predator movie in the entire franchise.

Thanks for reading, I wish you luck watching this movie and not coming out dumber than when you went into it.

Also her brother dies because of her incompetence.the predator later dies because of lucky circumstances. She gets the promotion and the tribe is doomed cause she is not able to protect them. Weak movie

All the men of the tribe are incredibly dumb, to the point that it's insulting. Heck, there are trappers that appear halfway through, and they more intelligent than the Indians - which doubles the insult. The protagonist's brother is only 'smart' when it suits the story, and in all other areas he is nearly as dumb as the other men. Speaking of the protagonist, she runs away from fights way too much and doesn’t even try to engage at key moments. I get they were trying to go for the 'coming of age' story, but they've failed. She is simultaneously stronger than everyone and yet weaker than everyone - and I'm talking about her will, not her physical strength. The film actually gets her physical strength right, which is saying something for Hollywood. She can't win on strength alone and most of her fights are not won by simply overpowering her opponents. It's one of the few highlights of the film. There is supposed to be a big reveal towards the end of the film, I'll leave that out of this review, but needless to say it is probably the wokest part of all. You'll know it when, or if, you see it. The Predator is another part of the film that was done very well, especially in its arsenal. I was worried at first when I found out the Predator would be using more 'primitive' weapons, but they're actually pretty awesome and work well within the setting. I also like the look of Predator's armor, the incorporated bone is a really nice touch. This film would have been an absolute failure, ridiculed to high heaven, if the Predator was not done right. I'd say the only thing to critique about it would be that it bleeds just a little too often. The fights in this film, as I alluded to earlier, are pretty good. I can't say there is anything particularly bad about them. The final fight with the Predator is great, and I like how it was done. The Protagonist does not try to use her physical strength, as she is a woman and naturally weaker. She uses her brain, and I like that. Though I will say that I wish some of the characters would have lasted a little longer. The very last scene leaves a little to be desired, because, again, wokeness plagues this film. Overall, the film suffers from several inconsistencies and wokeness, which bring down the film's score considerably. There are references to the first two films, and both feel out of place. One of the two references doesn't even make any sense. A lot of this film could be fixed by simply changing the dialogue in several places, and it would have made the film way better. Unfortunately, this is yet another franchise sacrificed at the alter of wokeness. Which is a shame, because underneath all the crap is a great film, that will never see the light of day. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It's not a bad movie if you just switch your brain off, but I have to mark it down mainly due to the amount of disrespect shown to the predator, so the predator easily takes out skilled Indian warriors, a bunch of soldiers with rifles, (as you would expect) but then gets taken out one on one by a small woman who couldn't even kill a bear with an arrow earlier on.

She's strong enough to pull the predator off its feet using a rope around its head, strong enough to cut the predator's arm off by pushing the predator's arm which is holding his shield into his other arm which is stuck in a tree, she's tough enough to survive being lifted and choke slammed into the ground by the predator, even Arnie didn't stand a chance against the predator one on one, but this small woman makes light work of it! I thought I was watching another marvel superhero movie, but what else would you expect from W O K E Disney, they have to show us that even when it comes to fighting an 8-foot-tall technologically advanced alien woman can do it better.

When I signed up to watch this movie, I expected to be Predator centric focusing on a meany alien hunting the might brave, Not Tomahawk women liberation propaganda ****
A movie is as good as it's Protoganist and Antagonist.

Let's check the Antagonists first - Predator, white men or toxic men in geneal. I **** you not, predator in this movie killed only men supposedly all toxic too. And this turned out to be the best scene in this movie for better or worse.

Now Protagonist- she is a woman, she is oppressed, she don't need men telling her she sucks at hunting, she defies cultural barriers and God forbid if a man tells her to stay at home for her own safety. This **** right here is what killed this movie and Predator franchise forever.

I don't want to bore you with discussing rest of story and one non sense that stands out is the projectile tracking system used by Predator in this movie.. this is way too stupid for any human(let alone an alien) to develop a tracking system that changes course pointed by a helmet than triggering system.

So, I just finished Pray - the latest 2022 Predator movie.

After reading the rave reviews calling it a "masterpiece", "a must see triumph", "soaring epic, intimate storytelling", "one of the best predator movies ever" and so on, I was really interested in this new take.
But somehow, this cinematic triumph never got the cinema release, instead it went direct to Hulu streaming services.

They put a lot of effort to show the Comanche culture. As they said - finally a proper representation.
So it felt really, really weird when one 18th Century Comanche warrior said: "Man, I gotta take a dump" In a perfect streetwise American English accent.
So yes - all the Comanche ppl speak in American English, while evil greasy, dirty, bearded French beyond caricature villains speak French among themselves. When French talk to Comanche though, they speak American English with a French accent?!
Comanche than reply in American English, together with the accent (not French)
Felt like Monty Python - though the laughs were completely unintentional.

Also, I've heard that Americans don't like to read subtitles. Maybe that was the reason why Comanche spoke streetwise English in this movie.
Now, they even made a dubbed Comanche version. So, to represent Comanche in a proper way that has never been done before, first they shot the whole movie in English and then dubbed it to Comanche…
And all that just to please Americans who don't like movies with subtitles. I mean, couldn't they shoot it in Comanche then and dub it to English instead?
That was an original idea - to shoot in Comanche - but Disney scrapped it when it bought out Fox.
Hypocrisy anyone? Hello?
Because dubbed movies usually look like parodies, sorry…

Some of the worst CGI animals in the 21st century I've seen. On the level of MCU CGI
The bear was laughable, especially the way his butt moved Direction
It felt like this movie was directed by an Artificial Intelligence that ticked all the necessary boxes of the 21st century PC Hollywood movie in the most banal and obvious ways.

Also, the dog's tail sprung the iron trap. That must have been the heaviest dog tail in the world.

Sometimes I wonder who writes this stuff in the first place, and I can't shake the feeling that it's probably some kids who didn't pay enough attention during history lessons or school in general but went online activist instead and used that as an excuse not to study hard enough.

It seems like our heroine somehow got to watch or play Mortal Kombat in the 18th century, and then she heavily inspired her weapon on Scorpio's
I just couldn't help hearing "Finish him!" in my head the first time I saw her figuring out how to put the tomahawk on the string and how flawlessly and formidably it worked!
Or maybe that was the writers… Probably one of them played Mortal Kombat and then, while they were "brainstorming", pitched the idea to the others without actually telling them where it was from. They must have been thrilled…

Acting
She's really great, energy, passion, conviction, physicality, emotion…
Some others though seemed like they came from a student movie The bad, dirty, smelly, greasy French trappers with rotten teeth who made "I'm sooo beyond evil" faces with their exaggerated laughs, and grunts and even growling were amazing!
The most laughable villains since, well, forever?

Costumes, music, sound and Atmos mix were great.

Our hunter wanna be Comanche teenager healer somehow without any training out of the blue takes on 5 dirty, smelly etc… French trappers and kills them more easily than, well, anyone I've seen taking on 5 people, even in Hollywood movies recently. Ok, maybe Brie Larson - but even Ray in Star Wars had to work harder in fights and even train a little to pull off what even Darth Vader never could. Disney…
I guess that's how Hollywood sees the strong female character part nowdays. I really don't understand how and why everyone is praising this movie in an almost identical way, very similar phrases, like they've been told what to think, feel, say, discuss and write.
The World started to feel like Logan's Run's hive mind some time ago anyways, and critical thinking had become in many ways - offensive.
It's almost like politics.

So when it comes to the representation of the amazing Native American culture, after watching Comanche speak modern American streetwise English I suddenly had the need to revisit Dances with Wolves. Despite Kevin Costner's mullet.
There, I will at least hear: "Tatanka" instead of: "Man, I need to take a dump"
When it comes to the strong female characters/empowerment, I feel the need to revisit Ripley, Sarah Connor, Thelma & Louise, Death Proof, Kill Bill, Hours…
Actually anything but this recent banal, obvious and lazy Hollywood trend
And when it comes to Predators - I'll just watch the ones that weren't friends with Mickey Mouse.

I think the scene that really killed me was when they were running through the field and the MAN wasn't able to keep up with the female protagonist. Yeah.. sure. This movie is well shot and looks pretty, but its soulless garbage with pacing problems, a frankly boring set of characters, and absolutely zero tension throughout. I honestly couldn't even believe how stupid the final fight sequence was, only because of all the instances where in better predator films, the protagonist actually outsmarted the alien in a way that logically made sense. If the Predators spear refuses to pierce him, then how do we know his tracking laser wouldn't also NOT be able to be used against him? Why wasn't the alien a woman? Hmmmm? Really mediocre stuff, but maybe after Batgirl got binned we can hope for less of this crap coming out. Chuck it into the bucket of "attempts to reboot franchises that have failed." Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I dont have anything against a strong female lead, see Alien movies, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Terminator 1 & 2, or Mad Max Fury Road, and many more. Those are all amazing movies.
But this movie does everything wrong with that you can do wrong.
The Alien and Predator franchise tried to be more or less realistic in its depiction, but this movie is the complete opposite. Its not very authentic in its depiction of a Comanche society, nor are the actors well picked (I literally had to watch Apocalypto again after this to get my head straight again about Native Americans - an amazing movie!). The shown males are all only minors (except one, who isnt shown much anyway), or very young adults with very slim bodies, and of course all make fun of the small female who wants to be a great hunter. The female lead knows everything (but not how to cut a fish) and can kill everything and is thus a Mary Sue. She can kill 5 grown men in a matter of seconds and blocks their attacks with her arms like shes superhuman.
Not to mention she can fool an alien that is capable of interstellar travel, even though the movie clearly shows that she wouldnt be able to know what she knows. See below.

The Predator has better tech than 300 years later.
This Predator gets hit all the time, and bleeds everywhere, but never really takes the time to heal. It can take several fatal blows without flinching, yet bothers to kill small animals like snakes and wolves as trophies. Yet it also looks far smaller and weaker than all the other ones before.
And theres wonder medicine that doesnt even exist 300 years later, that can make you not only less visible, but completely invisible to alien thermal optics, even in contrast to a horizon. If only our military knew of that, or criminals on the run, trying to hide from police helicopters...
Somehow the lead actor finds out how to use this medicine against the Predator, but then again gets proven wrong a few seconds later (she doesnt look at what actually happens), yet still thinks it works.
The acting is average at best, the writing is stupid because of the mentioned plot holes and logic errors, and the dialogue is typical woke, never makes the characters likeable because they feel very artificial.
The CGI is really bad (especially the animals), and the lead actress feels too clumsy and small for this role. Shes not believable in any way. Even her appearance, even though shes Native American decent (to a tiny percent), looks more like shes Latino. The male actors (except the old one) all look very believable, though, except for their body statue.

How this film gets this many upvotes can only be explained with manipulation. Easily recognizable when they claim they have seen the movie and claiming the bad reviewers havent, yet we know they havent seen the movie, because they dont say anything about its content, yet here every review says exactly whats wrong with it and talks about different scenes (hint how to make your bots better).
But thats nothing new nowadays, when most real people dislike your products.

Being woke is not the only sin of this terrible excuse for a movie however, and you'll be appalled by the cheap CGI, the uncharismatic lead, the native indians speaking in English (? after Apocalyto that's just not allowed anymore), white men coming out of nowhere to be pounded on for no reason by both the Predator and the script, the boring pacing and uneventful action, and the laughable plot armor surrounding the main character.

Another example of don’t give into the hype.

The acting was average at best, the story was tailored to a series rather than a movie, just not enough impact or epicness. The main character set off on the right foot, like all the classics, you know…I’m not worthy so I will make myself worthy. Rather than, the worlds oppressing me so I deserve to win 2022 mantra.

But it was all a bit too much Buffy and not enough Revenant. It’s a predator movie, where’s the suspense. Where the big chases, traps. The original predator was paced beautifully, this wasn’t. The cinematography just didn’t make it feel epic, you know it probably was all done in 4 weeks on the same stretch of forest. There’s certainly moments that look cool and it is of high quality. It’s just not cool.

I liked the story early predator drops off among early Native Americans sounds good, it wasn't. This had to be the most dumbest predator ever, even with his high tech weapons he still lost to a 110lb wanna be female warrior armed with a axe and bone knife..I had to laugh when she does kill it her tribe made her head warrior..the whole time this predator was getting his backside kicked by this little girl..even Arnold Schwarzenegger got beat up by the predator 300 years later. I know the predators improved their weapons after each hunt but this one still had some high tech weapons and not a stick and a rock...and the co-producer saying this one was as good as the original needs his head examined. It's telling when the smartest character in the movie was the dog..go ahead and watch this if you want a good laugh

Another terrible mockery, another travesty, another great exposition of this UNIQUE ALIEN HEROES. I'm a fan of the predator of the character himself and I expect the movies and videos for him to be on the same level as the character himselfAnother terrible mockery, another travesty, another great exposition of this UNIQUE ALIEN HEROES. I'm a fan of the predator of the character himself and I expect the movies and videos for him to be on the same level as the character himself is presented. The story of this character is at a very high level, and I expect and should make films about him also at a high, correct and fair level. When you make a film about this character, you owe it to yourself to present him in his best light. This is a hero who is known for being a killer. It's a hunter. This is a very strong, ruthless, fearless, highly intelligent, highly evolved, technologically advanced and much more... alien being.

THIS IS THE PREDATOR!!!

If you can't present it in the right and fair way then DON'T DO IT. Because everything else means parody, laughter, mockery. And this hero doesn't deserve that. When you decided to make fun of this character and when you decided to create a parody of this character then add in the title of the movie - Parody or something similar. Not only human simplicity, but also human ego, human self-confidence have no limits. In all the movies that are made with highly advanced extraterrestrial beings that have reached our planet and decided to fight with us in the end, the humans always win and come out heroes. How long will it be like this? This was not going to stop eventually. When finally, a film will be created that, at least little by little, unites fantasy with reality. If an alien race manages to reach us, it means that these beings are definitely much, much more advanced than us humans and can definitely destroy us very easily and quickly. But in this film, the story is not a warrior between different species, it is about hunting by an alien creature that confronts other less intelligent and developed creatures - cattle. The predator sees us humans as we humans see the chicken or other food animals. And a hundred chickens facing one man with an automatic firearm cannot defeat the man. It's the same with the predator. An alien being that is probably more than 2 meters tall and 200 kilograms of muscle equipped with alien weapons, armor and technology unknown and unreachable by humans to be defeated by a 40 kilogram girl with a height of 1.50 meters who only uses rocks and sticks, but most of all has a big BRAIN. And thanks to the fact that this person is very smart, the predator lost. Man is so very clever that he knows how to break a stick out of wood and sharpen it on one side and he also knows how to make a rope and he knows how to knot that rope and with these extremely clever inventions and the extremely clever running man was able to defeat the predator and was able to laugh and make fun of the weapons and physical strength of our distant visitor. Don't get me wrong I don't mind the women or the cast and I don't mind the acting (but to be fair it wasn't perfect) and I have nothing against making movies about this unique alien characters, but I am against making so many stupid stories that are not suitable to be presented even to children.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Prey keeps up with the tradition that each Predator movie must worse than the one before. It was hard to make a movie worse than The Predator, but congratulations to Dan Trachtenberg for pulling that off. At least The Predator had some nice comradery between the main cast, just like the Original; this movie has zero characters other than the protagonist and her brother that are anything more than people that die. Now, speaking of the protagonist, I don't care what simps with mommy issues think, but female protagonists don't work in a Predator movie for the same reason that male protagonists would not have worked in the Alien movies: both series play with different themes that are better explored with protagonists of different sexes. It doesn't help that Sacagawea(no, I don't remember her real name in the movie) is really annoying and that she has the most generic Female Protagonist motivation: to prove that she is just as good as the boys at boys stuff. This leads her on a quest to tack down the Predator which ends up in the death of every young male warrior in her tribe. This is even funnier because her brother(and the movie) makes a big deal about Hunting being about survival.

The Predator in the movie is not any better either. First off, it has the worst design of any movie until now. In the first and second Predator movie, when the creature's face was revealed, it looked otherwordly but also very real at the same time. This is why it has one of the most iconic creature designs ever. Here it has even more cartoonish mandibles than in the previous film plus a really silly Skull Mask that looks like a generic monster design in a Video Game. It's also very stupid, charging heads-on in confrontations with dozens of armed opponents, as oppossed to the creatures in previous movies that were patient, calculated hunters. Lastly, the movie makes the whole premise behind the Predators stupid. In the first movie it made some sense that these creatures come to Earth to hunt Commandos and Special Forces armed to the teeth with modern weapons. But do they really expect us to believe that these aiens travel hundreds of lightyears to hunt not only people with Stone Age technology but also snakes, coyotes and bears? You know, animals that humans have been hunting for millenia?

But don't worry, the Predator may be the main villain of the movie, but the real monsters are the White Men. They are no real threat for our protagonist though, who, despite being shown to not be a great huntress or warrior earlier, takes down six of them with no issues. Oh, yeah, and the movie is full of stupid references to the Original, it even explains that stupid pistol at the end of Predator 2.

I am only giving it a 1 because they had the decency to at least not call it Predator.

A hackneyed plot about growing up and overcoming oneself, which in this interpretation misses an important detail - you don't believe in the motivation of the characters, the viewer doesn't understand why they act this way and not otherwise. There is no background for personages or history in general, which is somewhat depressing. Because of such a discrepancy in the plot, it is hard to believe what is happening on the screen, a fantastic alien can only be imagined as a decoration, "prey" for the main character, which could be replaced by any other dangerous wild beast or alien creature. Everything looks somehow fake and unreal: the bad graphics are noticeable, the main character is too pretty for a formidable Indian warrior, the dialogues are stupid, and the predator plays the role of a whipping boy. It seems that the film was shot by teenagers for teenagers, the story is immature and replete with cliches. Who is the target audience of this picture? Bloodshed, violence and other horrors will simply scare away children for whom this plot will fit. Adults are not interested in this Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I mean what does makes sense, you've got mighty Commanche tribe, French trappers, the former is just there for the placeholder and the trapper tried to fail miserably. The funny part is both factions were aware of the presence of predator but had to rely on teenage girl to deal with it, come on!

If the Commanches and French had teamed up and think of a strategy to ambush predator and achieved it at great cost, would've made much believable story.

The predator here must be the worst sort of their species, when I saw it getting caught in the bear trap so carelessly. Also it got no armor, doesn't toggles between invisibility (Battery improvements maybe) and sprays lots of glowing blood in every fight.

Complete murder of historical facts, dialogs like teenage school drama.

There's absolutely no fear or tension while being hunted by Technologically enhanced brutal Alien species.

And vote for worst character is for Naru's mother, why the dumb woman even there. Must've been casted in the movie by reference of the producer.

Advice to viewers, take the chill pill shown in the movie and forget this ever happened (Movie is helping us by giving us herbal formula for this with strange orange flower, can turn mammels into cold blodded animals :D )

Finally just wanted to know who the heck sanctions this kind of garbage?

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. What in God's name did I just watch? That was one of the most painful experiences I have ever witnessed. I'm seriously close to saying "The Predator" was better and I even walked out of that movie. I didn't even see the whole thing.

Pros: 1. Cinematography - Not going to lie here. That was some top notch visual cinematography from a low budget film. Well done.

2. The dog doesn't die.

That's it. That's literally it. There was nothing else good about this movie.

Cons: 1. Borderline rated R. So many "reviews" out there saying how gory it was. This movie was not gory at all. As a matter of fact, it's easily the least gory of the entire series. A lot of kills are done from far away or the scene cuts out.

2. Acting was below average at best.

3. How in God's name does a human being from the early 1700's fully comprehend an alien species and their technology. When it uses its mask first, she automatically understands how and why. Then she steps in a bear trap (that she is able to easily walk off from afterwards as if she didn't suffer any broken bones or anything) and is kidnapped by French Trappers who automatically know what the creature is there for all because they find a weapon. Then at the end, she takes the mask (because she automatically knows how the mask works) and uses it against the Predator to kill him in the stupidest way possible. Which basically tells you that all the characters just automatically know things throughout this movie, No build up. No need to study. No needing of any comprehension whatsoever to explain this anomaly that flew in from space. They just see something once and they know. Or, they see it do something and just know what it's doing.

4. The Predator - Oh my god... they made this Predator the weakest by leaps and bounds. This tiny little girl wins a hand to hand wrestling match against a bear bench pressing Predator. Plus, it made the most absolutely bone headed mistakes for a creature that hunts the grandest trophies throughout the universe. It was obvious the political agenda behind this film was the real reason they made this. And it's "roar" was PAINFULLY bland. The original Predator's roar was so amazing and awesome. This one just sounded like a bear. Nothing more or less. And with all of technology it carried that it just lets her win?

5. They do zero justice to the creature or canon. This creature was nothing more than just a typical villain. This movie would've been much better if it was just the Comanches VS trappers. I would've been way more understanding and interested. But, they make this Predator stupid and weak despite previous movies and comics, and they completely make the pistol from Predator 2 the pistol of a trapper. This creature hunted for centuries, but the Great Plains is now when they started? Not one of the screenwriters or director did any research on this whatsoever. At all.

6. Very slow start and very cliche ending. Anyone who was scared of what the movie may be like from the trailer. Trust me, it's exactly what you were worried about it was going to be. And to me, it was even worse.

7. Zero tension. No... no, no, no... There were absolutely no parts of this movie where I felt tense whatsoever. As a matter of fact, when you assumed something was going to happen? Yup, it does. In a painfully cliché way.

In closing, I'm more than okay with native Americans getting their time to shine on the big screen. In a society filled with women empowerment, I'm okay with movies starring a female lead. Ripley, Sarah Connor, etc. They used their grit and their smarts. This movie was completely the opposite. This movie is a cash grab that takes a beloved character and uses that character to show that humans were way smarter than history states to where they comprehend alien technology so easily. And how women are so strong that a small 100 pound girl can win a wrestling match against a 7'0 killer that spends each and every waking moment hunting and gathering its trophies. It does absolutely zero justice to the creature. Absolutely none. At this point, any time there's a new Predator movie, there's no need for excitement. Because, I'm the end, they're just going to lose.

You all should be ashamed of yourselves for praising films like this. This was easily one of the worst films I've ever seen. It's so bad, I even regret the Predator tattoo on my arm.

O filme não mostrou aquilo que esperava. Não tem nada a ver com o verdadeiro Predador (1987 e 1990)

Yet again we get a pointless Prequel of a beloved original classic film and it's "Disneyfied" with modern day politics, modern day behaviours and 4 foot tall Girl Power. The special effects in this film are some of the worst visual effects I've seen in decade, possibly not since some other bland Disney cash-grab film. Seems Hollywood truly doesn't look over their rich history of told stories to know this trite affair isn't an origin story of the Predator as that story was told much better in the superior Aliens Vs Predator film from 2004. This rubbish is woke Hollywood's attempt to supplant a minority as the figurehead of all Predator events going forward, that we are to believe a 4 foot tall Native American with a trusty axe and rope went head to head with a 10 foot alien species??? Talking of Native Americans, what a shoddy bunch of cast members they got to portray the honourable proud Native Americans that completely didn't come across and remind me that I was watching an ancient tribe of hunter gatherers living off the land and being picked off by this otherworldly killer. These Z-list actors and actresses just reminded me of my time in Pasdena, Los Angeles with their "sooo cool for skool" SolCal talk and backchat, the modern mannerisms that seem like they all caught the time machine of Bill and Ted and headed to California 2021 just to see how snarky and insufferable they can be before heading back nearly 300 years in the past to show how hip and hop the 1700s must have been. Half expected a Starbucks wigwam tent to pop up. Besides the main actress terrible one note performance of scowling at the mensfolk and running like Baby Leia in the next scene, what also sinks this low brow effort at a Predator film is the filmmakers actually should have as close as true Native American dialect with accompanying subtitles to depict these old warriors of this nation from a bygone era. Instead we have Disney's very own Pocahontas for the modern age, that will sink to the depths of late night cable trash tv in the years to come. Arnie's 1987 masterpiece and Predator 2 remains the gold standard and untarnished in this film series. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie... "Prey" is a story about an arrogant, narcissistic Mary Sue. The main character does not know how to hunt, does not know how to fight and soberly assess the consequences of her actions. Her stupid actions and the desire to prove SOMETHING caused all young warriors and hunters of the tribe died. Now her tribe will starve and become defenseless against enemies.
Ou, and predator is bad too.
It's worst Predator-movie.

Any rating over 2 is a lie. This is a terrible movie. Do not believe the positive reviews. I saw the rating - started to watch it stopped it to double check the reviews to make sure that I had the right movie. Thought well maybe it just starts out weak. I put this hot garbage on again actually believing that it would get better. Trust me I wasn't expecting much. I have watched horrible movies before and plenty of them - I usually get to a point where I feel like I have invested too much time to stop the movie. There have been a handful of exceptions and this was one of them.
Watch it if you want to but remember I tried to save your valuable time. Tell you what go ahead and put it on but at that first sense of "I hope this gets better" remember that it doesn't and turn that crap off. Then go watch the first Predator or the Second one or the third Predator.

Without one scratch from the Predator. The same Predator that killed like 20 men and slapped a grizzly bear to death. But the real message this movie was sending is men are dumb egotistic masculine idiots. And women are superior in everyway! Also and white man bad. Cause he took our land and killed our buffalos and liter the land with his cigars. So let's make a scene where the Predator kills the white man but it's the Indian woman killing the man with her hate.

I am sick of seeing these movies with subliminal messages hidden in plain view. I just assume every movie is terrible now and days. And guess what I was right. Would have been a good movie if woke vomit wasn't shoved down my throat.

You would think by the 10s here this movie is a masterpiece. Don't get conned into watching it by that, the movie is an ok sci-fi flick, but not a 10. Rating it 0 to even out the reviews.

This show is just too far removed from the Predator franchise. Alien with advanced technology that forgets how to use it. The CGI was sub-par, acting was mediocre at best. The plot left a lot to be desired.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I learned an important lesson from this movie. I suspected that all men were evil and stupid no matter the race, but what I learned is that not only is this true, but white men are double evil and double stupid. What a cinematic masterpiece. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Unfortunately, the movie is pretty bad. It's a shame because of the solid casting. After Predator 2, I always wanted them to make more sequels, but as the sequels came, I regretted wanting to because each sequel was worse than the last. Even though it's bad, Prey is still better than The Predator, because that one is really terrible and it's hard for anyone to make a worse movie even if they tried. The Prey story is nothing special, a simple story about a girl who wants to become a hunter and equal to men. It leans a bit towards modern feminism and how she is always right and can do everything herself, better than men. Even if we ignore that, everything else in the movie is very bad. The CGI animals are a disaster, it's hard for me to describe how hard it was for me to watch the super agility of the ninja wild cat and bear, who like a wrestler, brags about his victory. The character development is very poor and we get from a wannabe hunter who can barely handle a skinny male hunter to a fearless warrior who can handle a giant alien with advanced technology in one day. From a slow and scared girl who supposed to be the best tracker, because she has a dog that follows tracks well, to a parkour professional in one day. She tied the tomahawk to the rope and immediately mastered the technique of this "advanced" weapon, catching the tomahawk perfectly every time she pulled it towards her. With his 45 kilograms, she goes into a fist fight with the Predator, something that not even the professional group of soldiers dared to do in the first Predator movie. Not only that, but she quickly figured out how the Predator's gear worked, and uses a magical and almighty medicine to hide from him. At the end she uses the Predator mask to kill him by setting a trap for him, because she knows that the Predator mask works on auto mode and kills anyone with a weapon, lol
I really wanted to like the movie, and regardless of certain things I noticed in the trailers, I kept an open mind and watched the movie wanting to relax and have fun, but this overdoing and forcing certain things didn't help my brain to remain switched off
And please people stop comparing this to the original Predator and saying it's just as good or even better, they're not even close. Are you serious?

Or eating some flowers and the predator cant detect her body temperature!!! LOL

the direction was great but everything else was too dull like the conversation and story and characters.

So do not believe the hype this is just another letdown for the franchise, just watch the one with Arnold and forget about this one its a waste of time.

The funniest part is when she is given the flint lock pistol that is awarded to another character in the future, meaning the predators came back and destroyed her tribe anyway lol.
