There’s a really low bar for Disney’s live action remakes, and this one exceeds that bar. Jude Law is great, as usual, and visually, the movie’s very pretty.

So many people are angry about it, but a frame-for-frame remake would've been tiresome and boring. Expand

This weekend we were able to watch Peter Pan and Wendy from Disney+. Based on J. M. Barrie’s novel Peter and Wendy and inspired by the 1953 animated classic, Peter Pan and Wendy is the timeless tale of a young girl who, defying her parents’ wishes to attend boarding school, travels with her two younger brothers to the magical Neverland. There, she meets a boy who refuses to grow up, a tiny fairy and an evil pirate captain, and they soon find themselves on a thrilling and dangerous adventure far, far away from their family and the comforts of home.

Disney really knows how to make animated movies come to life. I mean, can you all be any more magical? Enough is enough, but also keep it up. It’s so much so that I’m shocked that this didn’t even have a short run in the theaters. Yes, this story is played out, but this version is just begging to be seen on the big screen. From the landscapes to the flying and even the transformation of Jude Law into Capt. Hook, Disney really just out does themselves. Disney has a blueprint in how you make viewers care about what’s happening on the screen. The storytelling is vivid and deep in this movie. Now, there is one random character in this movie that I’m still confused about. I have no clue why she is in the movie. It was very weird and almost like they said let’s hit some diversity points with this one. But for real, if other people that are adults live on Neverland doesn’t that destory the whole point of the Neverland story? I’m just so confused. Honestly, that’s me stretching to find something wrong with this streaming feature film.

At the end of the day, Peter Pan and Wendy is a good coming of age flick on Disney+. The movie is full of imagination, wonder and nostalgia but infuses current cultural values. The characters have depth that isn’t really existent in other Peter Pan iterations. The movie is fun and deep at the same time. Definitely a family flick that should be seen especially for those with kids who are a bit afraid to grow up. Grab a big box of popcorn and bangarang!

Not the film most people were expecting (as its less of a direct adaptation of the original Peter Pan, and more a parallel story that builds on the same themes) and likely not the type of film many people were hoping for. But it is, without a doubt, a well crafted film full of beautiful scenery, an emotional character driven story, and great acting performances by the majority of the main cast. I personally highly recommend this film. Expand

a fun movie, enjoy, and a little interesting...It's a shame why the tone of the film is so dark and dull, like a horror film like this, it should be a colorful fairytale film, right?

'Peter Pan & Wendy' brings a new and refreshing perspective to the classic tale. With its diverse cast and inclusive themes, this movie is a must-see for fans of the original story and newcomers alike. One of the standout aspects of this movie is the diverse cast, which includes actors of various ethnicities and abilities. This representation makes the story feel more inclusive and reflective of the real world, which is especially important for younger viewers who are still forming their understanding of the world around them. This also makes sense to the story, race doesn't affect nor change the story so I don't see it as a bad thing here. The movie also takes a fresh approach to the story, with some twists on the original plot that keep it engaging and surprising. The characters are well-developed, with each having their unique strengths and flaws, and the relationship between Peter and Wendy is explored in a deeper and more nuanced way than in previous adaptations. Another highlight of this movie is the stunning visuals and imaginative settings. From the lush forests of Neverland to the glittering cityscapes of London, the movie transports the viewer to another world, filled with wonder and magic. Overall, 'Peter Pan & Wendy' is a delightful movie that captures the spirit of the original story while also bringing something new and inclusive to the table. Whether you're a fan of the original story or just looking for a fun and heartwarming adventure, this movie is definitely worth watching. Expand

All of the Peter Pan movies, in fact, I don't get why people have to be so hateful and spread negativity if this is not hurting anyone. Even the animated version was not the same, not a single one of the other live actions was the same. The point is to bring something new, exciting and maybe even modern. You can have an opinion, but if you need to insult, offend, or bring politics into it, you're automatically wrong. In other movies Peter Pan is not a redhead, Tinkerbell was not blond, Tiger Lily was white, and nobody complained about the forced exclusion. Representation matters, some people cry for nothing, something that is not hurting. Expand
