This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Hype movie. Significant improvement to the storytelling and pacing as opposed to the previous film (Stampede). Also would be a film I suggest to newcomers as it doesn't require a ton of lore or prior investment to understand what's occurring in this story.

Uta, Luffy, and Shanks are all commanding characters when on screen. I will say that most of the other characters aren't relevant other than to make short comment or do flashy attacks. Sanji and Usopp get good moments. Wish Jinbe got more to do in his film debut.

And of course the music is wonderfully executed and relevant to Uta emotional states.… Expand

It's a One Piece movie that does something different with it being more of a musical centred on the new character Uta, Shank's daughter. It's not action-heavy like previous movies. It delivers great songs, good animation and an emotional yet dark story. The last 20 minutes of this film are stellar!

Don't come into this one expecting something similar to 'Strong World' or 'Film Z'. This is a unique experience for One Piece in general. I personally found it a fun watch but I understand that this film might be divisive for One Piece fans.… Expand

Starts with very nice relaxing atmosphere, nice colors, fluid animation and beautiful voice with great music. The movie has a lot of fanservice what is amazing, but it is more a musical than I expected. Don't get me wrong if you are a fan you should watch it, but it's not fenomenal as the tv show is.

This movie was phenomenal, details, music, and everything else was top tier, but what made it so sad was that Uta sacrificed herself for a better world, it must feel so bad to have a daughter who would sacrifice her life to save the world and turn it into a better place. But in my opinion, the entirety of the movie was beautiful.… Expand
