There was pretty stuff, but The movie didn't really follow the Bible, but more of hollywood's portreyal. I laughed but walked out because we rented this as a redbox film and I got tired of all the fighting. Then I came back and just tried sitting through it. Overall, I've seen better films than this. Bootycheddah! Bootycheddah all the way. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This was a movie that could have been good, but they made it drag on and on. Someone else said that it was a good movie chopped up and spread across a field of bore(my complete paraphrase), and they were spot on. I take off 3 points for the extra half hour they should of trimmed off. There were times I almost turned it off because it was so slow.

I take off 2 points for its overwhelming preachiness. This flows from the same error as the last point deduction. They get a point across, and instead of being done, they pound it into you until your eyeballs bleed. It makes the movie slow, and takes good dramatic moments and makes them slow and painful.

I take another 2 points for random stuff like him letting a girl get run over and killed, when picking her wouldn't have changed the fact that he couldn't out run the crowd, and the whole talk with his wife about how he would kill to protect his children and that makes him evil. but killing guys who killed a deer? Totally cool.

lastly It is completely off biblically, so when you watch it, just pretend you're watching a random fiction film. I don't take any points for that though, it just falls under the category of suspension of knowledge which most movies require.

ps. The movie also acts like animals are these little angels. Apparently they don't have animals in Hollywood, because if they did, they'd realize the evil people in Noah were acting like animals.

The tedious plot makes the 2 hours over film a pain to watch. The part where it got slightly engaging was the part where the wicked humans starts waging attacks on Noah, attempting to seize the ark to save themselves from the great flood. And the part where Noah was forced to make a choice whether or not to kill his newborn grand daughters was pretty tense.

A few breathtaking scenery and beautiful CG scene is one of the few notable good thing about the film.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie is not worth a watch at all. I was watching this late at night and seriously considered just going to sleep on the couch. Also, I must mention that I am not a religious person at all, and I gave my score solely based on the weak aspects of the film.

First, half of the characters were dull or flawed. For example Noah was way too harsh and even stupid on his 'humanity will ruin the earth' speeches. Otherwise, the characters didn't ruin the movie too much, and I can even say that some of them played quite well at times.

The plot was laughable; There was way too much random, absurd, and boring times throughout the movie. Backstory was kind of nonsensical, and the beginning of the movie wasn't all that great, but it was acceptable, I'll give it that. The 'battle' felt short, started too early in the movie and was an obvious attempt to add unnecessary action, that was weakly executed on top of that. The second half was a huge drop from the poor action; it was boring beyond belief. The film deteriorates from saving the innocent animals and resisting an evil king to small scale family problems amongst the floating ark. In my opinion, there shouldn't have even been anything after they set sail (apart from the king getting on the ark, that was done alright). Overall, the cheap attempt at action and drama took its toll, creating strong negative feeling about the film, combined with some flawed characters and backstory.

The only redeeming factors are the cinematography, somewhat rare parts with good acting, kind of decent choreography in the scenes that had it, and the very, very little good plot choices that were made in the overall messed up plot.

It's hared to adequately put in to words how horrible Noah is. There's nothing really that I can add that hasn't already been said. Avoid at all costs.

Trying to hide truth or spinning the fact? Or probably both? Typical holywood movies, deception everywhere. God never forgave those fallen angels, they are bound to be punished until now. They didnt even help Noah build the ark.

Basically: The unbiblical story of a biblical story...so surprise that an atheist would do that. We might as well make a movie about Pres Obama being a WHITE man. -_- That's how off this is.

The next time you decide to make a movie from a story of the Bible, please at least read the story first. I mean, if God wanted all mankind to die, why even bother saving a single family? He's God. He can literally just will all mankind to die and it happens, no flood, no ark needed, all other living things continue to exist. You turned a champion of the Bible into a psychopath. I'm sure the Jewish community and Christian community are equally affronted by this trash. Expand

Darren Aronofsky's Noah smothers the powerful story by plunging in an extensive use of non-biblical muck. Wrecked the titular character and wasted the film's own potential in an extravaganza of left-leaning political garbage.
