I thought the trailer was kind of meh, so I only watched this Bond when it became free on Prime, and now I wish I had watched it in the theater.

It's the second Bond movie I'd call actually good (the first was Casino Royale), and it's the best I've seen, ever. There is a complex, smart story that has no dumb moments. It doesn't explain but instead show, consistently all the way through. There is character development, real growth, the characters are nuanced and interesting, and the movie doesn't regurgitate the same old story. Of course it's visually beautiful with a great score, too, but the same could have been said for plenty of 007 movies.

What a way to end a chapter in the franchise. The ending is sad, not only for the character, but for what all the movies could have been if they had been a bit more like this.… Expand

I personally love this movie and all the kickbacks to all the original movies. It was great. I think they did a great job in finally closing off the series. I just hope they don't make the new 007 a woman. That would ruin the franchise.

These characters are very likeable, and so are the villains. "No time to die" is a perfect mixture of beautiful settings and photography, first-class acting, a smart script and the most Bond-like soundtrack in many years. Even though pace can be tricky in a 2:43 hour long action movie, every scene contributes with either entertainment for the audience or meaning to the story. I enjoyed every line and every shot fired. Daniel Craig's last interpretation of James Bond also show how much the character has evolved throughout the years. As a 00-agent in his 50s, he probably knows he has outlived himself. There seem to be a lot going on in his head, and Daniel Craig portrays this beautifully. Craig's last and slightly older version of James Bond is both tough and experienced but also wise and sensitive, naturally, after all he has been through. All this makes "No time to die" one of the most interesting and intriguing Bond movies ever, even though "Skyfall" remain my personal favorite.… Expand

However, if you didn't mind that change and still enjoy all the action sequences, car chases, gadgets, and one-liners, then you will enjoy the ride here! This one turns the emotions up higher than we've seen before and keeps all the other ingredients going strong. Looking back on the other Craig films, this is a perfect ending for this chapter of the Bond universe :)… Expand

this is the perfect goodbye for an amazing performance delivered by Daniel Craig and us, die hardcore fans who were waiting for 6 years for a new release, will not be disappointed.

SETTING
No time to die starts where Spectre was left off: Madeline and James are together enjoying a nice rest, but then after remembering someone from the past trouble strikes again in the most amazing and blockbuster way: 007 finds himself chased by bad guys in an Italian villa and hell is let loose pretty earlier in the movie.
A new threat is looming by, and the shadow of Spectre is still hunting both James and Madeline, but now a new horror emerges when a man, Safin, is trying to take down not a specific target but millions of people with a new and deadly weapon.

PERFORMANCES
I think that after 5 movies we can say that we got accustomed to Daniel’s Craig performance of Bond. Ever since I saw Casino Royale, I knew this new Bond meant business, and Daniel Craig has never failed to perform as the British superspy. For this occasion, the story puts him in an awkward situation, and we will see a more human side of Bond. But that does not mean that he will not kick ass, as he is an agent with a license to kill after all, so I saw a delicate balance being managed in this story.
Léa Seydoux brings once again her charming character of Madeline, who now finds herself enthralled by the past of his father, Mr. white, and there is a scene where her past comes to mind, and I believe that is one of the most terrifying scenes I have seen in a Bond movie. Madeline is sweet and charm, and even though she is a therapist, she is also a fierce character, one that you do not know you want to trust.
Rami Malek’s character is incredibly well written, and I felt scared by his performance. I mean, Mads Mikkelsen’s Le Chiffre will always be my favorite villain of the last 5 Bond movies, but Safin, the villain of this movie is motivated by not greed nor a specific agenda for becoming more powerful: He simply wants annihilation. That is scary, and his character is presented in a flashback as a very creepy guy, but in the present, he is also very scary. I like Rami Malek’s performance, he did a great job.
New to the cast is Lashana Lynch, which I thought it was a little cocky at first, but after a while she starts to grow on you. I thought her jealousy of Bond was kind of stupid, but she is a great buddy for James in this adventure. I mean, at first you do not see much on her, but after a while you see that she waws a good fit for the cast.
Ana de Armas performance was great even though was small. She appears amazing in that dress and the party scene was incredible… she also kicks it, and she appears like a soft initiate on the CIA’s paycheck, but she is actually pretty badass. I would have loved to see more of her, as I liked a lot how she interacted with Bond.

VISUALS
From Italy to Jamaica, Cuba to England, and at last to a small island in dispute among Japan and Russia, the movie will move along different locations. Visually, the movie is a non-stop action thriller, and this is one of the main reasons why I love this franchise so much. Every action scene does not disappoint, and yet, at the end of the movie we see moments of pure beauty and love… Cari Joji Fukunaga made an incredible achievement with this movie, as he found balance for the normal action scenes to the story and how it unfolds in the end.
This movie is longer than any of the other Bond movies, and there was not a single moment where I felt bored… no, I felt scared, and wanted to know more about the story. Visually is amazing!

SOUND
The music in 007 movies have seldom disappointed. The score always matches the vibe of the scenes, and regardless of being a movie with an incredible soundtrack, I did not find Billie Eilish’s main theme, no time to die, to be that compelling. It is good, but not as good as my best Bond opening song from the 5 movies, which is Casino Royale’s You know my name, performed by late Chris Cornell. Yeah, yeah, many people disliked it, but to me is an amazing song

FINAL VERDICT:
My final Verdict is a 10 for this movie.
Daniel Craig’s last performance brought tears down in one of the final scenes. He is an amazing actor, and his performance as James Bond has paid off elegantly. Since Casino Royale as his introduction, where he literally shut many people’s mouths with his astonishing performance, to this, his final movie as the fabled British superspy… I cannot say that I will not miss him. Just as it happened with Pierce Brosnan, which I enjoy watching as Bond, I will enjoy watching Daniel Craig’s Bond movies until a new Bond is chosen… Honestly, I do not want another Bond, but the franchise must go on. I had the same feeling when Pierce Brosnan had to leave his Walter PPK behind and Daniel Craig took over.… Expand

Despite the extremely sad ending the movie still contained great plot twists and followed that unique bond style, however still having a different take compared to any other bond film which made its authenticity a genius masterpiece. I liked this movie. It had a lot of work to do; close out the Daniel Craig films and multiple storylines which previous films (Spectre, specifically) attempted to do somewhat clumsily. There is a LOT in the film, with additional callbacks to very early Bond films while at the same time updating Bond and the other characters to the times. The action is fantastic and the gadgets (like in most of the Craig films) are featured without crowding out the characters and dialogue. RM as the villain reminded me of a Ferrari in traffic; he's a great actor who had to work with limited time and material (which was a reasonable choice for the filmmakers, there wasn't a lot of room for development when there was so much to get through). There are other departures from the series for this film which I won't spoil. In the end I gave it a 9 in large part because they did a great job for a film that had a very high degree of difficulty. It's not Skyfall or Casino Royale but the fact that it was closer to those films than QoS is a really impressive feat imo.… Expand

In here, Craig gave his all in his performances, both physically and emotionally. Obviously, he had a very negative comment after finishing Specter that was often misquoted. But audiences should realize that making these films are hard and arduous. Specter was made almost back to back to the successful Skyfall...and the results were quite obvious. This time around, the team had 'all the time in the world' to craft a film to the best of their abilities. The results showed in spades.… Expand

James bonds final outing is a spectacle of homages, new ideas and forward momentum all carried about by a very polished Daniel Craig. After 5 movies of amazing highs and bottom of the barrel low does this film provide a satisfying conclusion to the Craig Bond line? Simply put, yes. This Bond like previous Craig movies focus more on the human aspects of Bond and how his actual personality and emotions have effected him out side of his spy life. Don't take that in a wrong way the movie still does a fantastic balancing at of giving you plenty of action while not turning into a mindless stupid MCU cgi explosion fest. The movie starts out with one of the best openings in a bond film in years told in 2 unique parts. Introducing Bonds new love affair and setting up her child hood back story. An opening set with the suspense and tension of a slasher film this opening offers a disparate direction than any bonds taken. It's shortly followed up by a chance through and Italian village has breath taking stuns and beautiful locals. Fans of old will rejoice with the choice of Bonds car being a classic db5. The action is tight, well shot and very slick. Craig's bond's have always tried to lend themselves to a more realistic world with less gadgets and tricks. However, this film steps in a pays a little more homage than any of other of Craig's movies. The Db5 has plenty of tricks up it sleeves that will leave classic bond fans with a smile from ear to ear. While not giving you a beat for beat plot analysis the movie introduced new characters and ties up old ends for classic characters. The introduction of the new 007 has always been shown off plenty of times in trailers. I know what most of us bond fans feel. We hated it. No Bond fan wanted to feel the Social Justice Woke culture push into bond. Pushing a black female agent into 007s roll felt like nothing more than virtue signaling when watching the trailers and the back lash was high. Well I can certainly say the movie doesn't push that agenda. Yes she's there, yes she 007 but in no way does the film seem to be pushing this. Weather they did this because of back lash or not it's really no a detractor from the movie and I don't think you should go into the film with that bias. One of the weakest elements in the movie that needs to be addressed however is the villains and Spectre. Both are done a huge disservice as they simply don't seem to be the of focus the movie. The movie is more interesting in wrapping things up than it is giving satisfying conclusions to classic plot points. 25 movies and the legacy of Spectre is kind of just throw out the window and concluded in 1 to 2 scences. I will however say the party for Spectre in Cuba is one of the high light scenes for the movie. The beautifully stunning Ana De Armas delivers as one of the best bond girls in her very brief Cuba scene. In her brief 10 to 15 minutes of screen time she Nails it epitomizing everything a Bond girl is about. Sexy, bad ass and fun. The main villain of the movie on the other hand doesn't live up what we'd consider an amazing bond Villain. In fact I'd say he's completely forgettable. This is part of the reason its so dishearting that Spectre the over arching Villains of the whole series are concluded with little to no fan fair. Remi Malek is a great actor and does the best with what he's given but, i'd think you'd be hard press to walk away from the movie and even remember his characters name. Go for it, see if you can remember the mains villains name seconds after leaving the theater. Promise you, you cant. His motivations seem muddle and unclear and the threat level that he brings seems pathetic. While there's world ending stakes at hand they never seem important and the tension isn't high. So while it seems like I've been trashing on the movie very hard, No time to Die is a movie that is the very "The whole is greater than the sum of its parts" - Aristotle. The movie combines to make a very polished and enjoyable send off to Daniel Craig and in my opinion the series as a whole. With its long run time of almost 3 hours you won't ever find yourself bored or thinking about the pacing. It's a brisk, fun thrill ride and one not to be missed. I really hope everyone enjoys it as much as me and goes into the movie with an open mind and not pre conceived notions. 9.5/10… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. No time to die is a fit end for the Daniel Craig era, doing justice to the story told over the last 4 films and finishing off Craig's bond arc. The action was top notch (the Ana De-Armas scene was especially kick-ass), I liked all the supporting cast (even ones I didn't like before like Leà Seydoux's Madeline Swann which was finally flashed out after being completely flat in Spectre). Lashana Lynch's character, Q and bond's daughter (she was so bloody cute) were the standouts for me among them. The soundtrack by the legendary Hans Zimmer is exciting and touching. You quite feel this is the end for bond in this movie, for example when Felix died which was really sad but showed that this group are at the end of their road.

the reason I think this is still a 9 and not a 10 like casino royale or Skyfall is because Rami Malek's Safin is quite weak and moustache twirly. His backstory is interesting and gives him depth but his reasons for what he does are really one-dimensional bad guy stuff. although I did like the scene where he gave bond a choice between him and his daughter, which was quite allegorical to bond's needing to choose between staying a cold-blooded robot killing machine, or finally become human again even tough it pains him after vesper's death.

Craig himself as always shines as bond and being my personal favorite . He has incredible depth and he is a really well-rounded character who you can relate too even tough he is freaking James Bond! Casino royale was the perfect origin story and it explained how bond became bond (becoming emotionally detached, a killing machine of sorts, and trusting nobody but himself after vesper's betrayal and tragic demise). That also perfectly explains why he ditched Madeline the minute after thinking she betrayed him, not wanting to repeat the past trauma of letting all his guards down and falling for someone who betrays him.

the last two movies wrap that story arc quite nicely by making bond trust people again and open up again thanks to his relationship with Madeline who helps him deal with his past trauma, forgive vesper, forgive himself and move on; and also now his daughter who makes him reconsider his priorities. The end for me was bittersweet. It was sad to see Craig's bond bite the dust after the amazing 15 year old run he had, but yet I felt content as I think bond was at peace in his demise. Knowing he was never going to be able to be with his family, but finally moving on and opening up again, having a family and a group of people who love and support him, making the sacrifice for them, and dying a meaningful death for the safety of the world. A satisfying sendoff to my favorite bond. You have left big shoes to fill and you will be missed.… Expand

I'm not a fan of franchises. I'm instead a fan of good films. If a franchise is made up of good films (like the recent APES remakes), then sure -- I'm a fan. The first STAR WARS film was rather good (not great), the 2nd was okay, and everything since has been wretched. 'Fanboys' would argue with that. That's why you must passionately ignore fanboys.

The Bond films were pretty good from their inception to the early Moores. DIAMONDS and GOLDEN GUN weren't the best -- but the rest were okay or better. Like it or not, fanboys, THE SPY WHO LOVED ME was the last great Bond film. It had everything and was nearly perfect. (Fanboys believe no Moore was any good because Connery, but that's the fascist male ego thing again. Spy was spectacular.)

After SPY each new entry would start big and bold and eventually collapse under poor story-telling, weak characters, lame jokes and cheesy spectacle. LIVING DAYLIGHTS was okay, I guess. I've rewatched TOMORROW NEVER DIES a lot, but that's because Michelle Yeoh and... wait for it... it's a remake of SPY.

Not until CASINO ROYALE did we get another GREAT Bond film. Understand -- I hated the new 'Gorilla Killer' Bond that was Craig. But since I'm not a fanboy but instead objestive I had to admit the film achieved its goals. And it held together from beginning to end. And has been very re-watchable. (That car flip is amazing.)

Some say the hot mess factor returned with QUANTUM. I strongly disagree. It was just a good little Bond film. I think the fascists were upset by the Latina lead. Boo-hoo.

The hot mess factor returned with Sam Mendes. Anyone who raves about SKYFALL is such a fanboy. That piece of trash is so sad it blatantly steals 'Wayne Manor' from BATMAN and Jim Malone from THE UNTOUCHABLES and still fails miserably.

I nearly walked out of the theater. It was so appalling I gave up paying for Bond in the theater. Only years later did the fanboys see in SPECTRE what was painfully obvious in COW-PIE FALL. And the irony here is that SPECTRE was less of a hot mess.

So I came into NO TIME TO DIE expecting less than nothing. I rented off Amazon and expected to abandon it within the hour. Instead I felt like the director of LUPIN was in charge and everything was suddenly SANE. Adult. And for the most part believable.

Unfortunately this film requires a long attention span. And compassion. If you lack both, please, go play a video game/with yourself. If you've seen and liked LUPIN, you'll likely enjoy NO TIME TO DIE. Not love but enjoy.

That said, the film wasn't perfect.

1. Jamaican Nomi seemed to be a one note character. "Hi! I'm a snarky b!tch!" Kinda flat. When she offered to abandon her numerical designation it seemed to be the end of a character arc we never witnessed.

2. Another sense that a story arc was edited was evident in Rami's Safin character. This character was nearly completely botched. Whenever I see a mask -- I know a 'big' reveal is coming that will fall flat. Always does. This is a beginner screenwriter's mistake. And since horror movies lean on masks as a cliche these days its simply not scary anymore. SILENCE OF THE LAMBS didn't need Hopkins in a mask or deformed. It worked better because the villain was humanized. If Rami had been allowed to simply act it would have worked MUCH better. So when he expressed a romantic interest -- it wouldn't have been twisted but actually understandable? Even worthy of consideration by the girl. And what if his 'evil' plan was really about getting rid of only bad people here and there? That because of what happened to him he never wanted it to happen to anyone else? That he was a decent guy but a little too ends justify the means, if you will.

I believe Rami was not only wasted in this role but miscast. (Wasn't he the same age as the girl?!?)

3. Easter Eggs distract. The relentless ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE references cheapen this film, making it feel derivative. Although I liked when Bond used that variant line at the end.

All these criticisms aside -- I enjoyed this film. And I know I'll watch it again. I highly recommend devoting a day to this at home vs. an evening out. We paused midway, made lunch, had a walk, came home and finished it. I do pity the behinds that sat through this entire thing.… Expand

I usually go for the user score but I'm not certain who are the retards that gave this movie anything lower than a 5. It's definitely a movie worth watching and one of the best Craig era Bond movies in my opinion.

James Bond (Daniel Craig) is enjoying his retirement with Madeleine (Léa Seydoux). Despite having left active service, his old friend Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright) shows up asking for help. Bond is then led onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with the most dangerous technology in the world. A fitting end to Daniel Craig’s era of James Bond. All his movies have come together (not you Quantum of Solace) to form a great story arc with No Time to Die wrapping up all the loose ends. It’s also far more emotional than I thought it would be and that’s unexpected for a James Bond movie. Craig’s Bond movies did indeed make the character more human and brought the whole franchise to a level more grounded in reality. No ridiculously over the top gadgets or invisible cars. The action sequences and luxurious locations are everything you’d expect in a Bond movie and more. It also has a terrific movie score that calls back to previous Bond movies like On Her Majesty’s Secret Service and Casino Royale.

Daniel Craig raised the bar when it came to doing his own stunts to a point where the physical toll it’s taken on him was so bad we nearly almost didn’t get one last movie from him. I’m so glad he did decide to take on the role one more time. No Time to Die is a masterpiece, on the same level as Skyfall and further brings Bond away from the cheesy spy movies of the past. It’s also refreshing to see more women characters kicking ass and not just showing up in a bikini to look good for the camera. Lashana Lynch as a new 00 agent was a great addition to the already star studded cast. Ana de Armas was another great choice for a Bond girl and although she doesn’t have much screen time she made an impact. We all know these type of movies are only as good as their villains and Rami Malek is a terrifyingly eerie villain. Giving a scene stealing performance whenever he is on screen. Right I know this is the longest Bond film to date but despite that I didn’t feel this was overly long at all, there’s a lot packed into it. Compared to Spectre where by the time you’ve reached the third act you’re definitely feeling that it’s a long film. No Time to Die used every one of its 2 hours 43 minutes to entertain and pay homage to old school Bond movies.

Daniel Craig is without a doubt my favourite actor to play James Bond, and I’ll go so far as to say he is the best James Bond. His movies reinvented the character and brought new life into an otherwise jaded franchise. No Time to Die is definitely the perfect way to say farewell to Craig as Bond and I will miss him as 007. Whoever they choose to take on the character next has a tough job as the bar is very high and they have some big shoes to fill. The last 18 months has seen the cinema industry struggling greatly to get people back into cinemas and nothing says welcome back to the movies like a new James Bond film. Get yourselves to a cinema and enjoy, highly recommended.… Expand

Having underlined that serious flaw, I gotta say: good god, man! the rest of the movie was AMAZING! So good that you often keep waiting for it to run out of steam, and so it does eventually deflate a little as the film funnels the otherwise surprising script into the stereotypical Bond villain/lair/monologue setup, but I absolutely loved how it got there. As much as it pains me to say, a watch of the mediocre 4th film SPECTRE definitely helped my understanding of this film, so watch them back to back if you (dare) want the full experience.

Since having played James Bond beginning with 2006’s Casino Royale, No Time to Die is officially the fifth and final instalment with Daniel Craig in the role. After being delayed due to change of director and COVID-19 pandemic where theatres all over the world were closed, the finale movie is finally here to be watch on the big screen for good.

After the events of Spectre, James Bond (Craig) have retired from active service in the MI6 and currently in a relationship with Dr. Madeleine Swann (Seydoux). During their holiday trip in Italy, Spectre assassins attacks Bond while he is visiting Vesper Lynd’s grave. Believed that Madeleine betrays Bond due to her late father, Mr. White, was part of Spectre, he left her.

Five years later, Bond have been living in Jamaica alone until his old friend from the CIA, Felix Leiter along with Logan Ash from State Department asking for his help to locate Dr. Valdo Obruchev, who have abducted from MI6 by a terrorist group led by Lyutsifer Safin (Malek). At first he refuse to help and wanting to stay out of it until he meets Nomi, an MI6 agent who inherited Bond’s former designation, 007. She informs Bond about Project Heracles which was created by Dr. Obruchev. After contacting M (played by Ralph Fiennes) to know more about the project and learning that he was the one who approved it, he choose to help Felix in what appears to be his final mission.

Having watched all of Daniel Craig’s James Bond movies, this movie is one of the best in his version of the character. The writing in this movie is very well written. This movie does what the previous James Bond movies that have never done before which one of them is giving a satisfying conclusion to Craig’s James Bond. The previous movies played by the other actors do not even a conclusion to their respective stories. Not only that, the movie also tied up all loose ends that have set up in the last four movies. By doing that, this brings a permanent end to Craig’s James Bond movies with no more follow ups or potential spin off.

Since this is the final chapter of Craig’s James Bond movie, the cast definitely bring out their best performances especially Daniel Craig and Rami Malek. I’m very impressed that Daniel Craig still have the charismatic and acting skills to play the character for 15 years which means he played the character much more longer than the late Roger Moore despite the latter played the character seven times. I’m sure the late actor would be proud of him. As for Rami Malek, he not only played a very good villain character but also a theatening and more villainous. In addition with the writing of this movie, his character also does what the previous Bond villains have never done before. Due to heavy spoilers, I will not reveal what he have done in the movie. Credits also goes to Cary Joji Fukunaga for his great direction for this finale. I don’t know if he actually done better than Danny Boyle, the original director before he left, but Cary did a great job regardless.

It was really sad to see Daniel Craig in his final role as James Bond in this movie. I could not figure out if anyone else could have been chosen for the role if he was not casted. Nevertheless, I think he portrayed James Bond the best. This movie is the end of an era of Daniel Craig’s James Bond. New actor will step up to replace him. While it may be the end of his James Bond but it is not the end of the franchise.… Expand

So despite what some critics are saying about the pacing and length, after the intro this film got me stuck to my seat with a complex, colorful, multilayered story and insane action scences, but also presenting Bond as a human being more than the previous movies did, more specifically from the angle of what it means to live (and die) as an international spy. I thought the bad guys were a little too over-the-top, but then again this is the tradition of Bond flicks... you want them to look undefeatable. The locations and their use were fantastic, and the side actors were appealing even tho tongue-in-cheek.

It's true, tho, that that "Mumbling Lucifer Satan" arch-villain could have been played with more energy as here he just acts like a zombie. The subplot of having not an even higher leader of Spectre but their biggest foe (?) was original yet not too appealing... I was hoping for having a full-blown Dr. No instead, which would have made more sense with this series continuity and the film's title, and more justice as the "final boss" for the Craig era. It's a great end of the Craig era, and deserves the praise it didn't get. Daniel Craig has been the most charismatic yet realistic Bond in a long while.… Expand

A great addition to the 007 franchise. It's not without a couple of flaws, but overall it's an amazing movie. Action sequences are well executed, the plot is interesting and locations are beautiful.

Craig does a perfect job in portraying Bond and the traits you would expect from the character. Léa Seydoux acting is once again phenomenal. The new agent is interesting, has a good actress and participates perfectly with the plot and pace of the movie, she doesn't overstay her welcome and manages to be likable and relevant.
The villain is so much better than Blofeld. Rami Malek was a great choice for this role, unfortunately he doesn't get big personal moments (like Silva in Skyfall) that could make us interested in his reasons and plans, but he still delivers a good villain even though the writing could be better for him.
Ana de Armas' participation was interesting but too short, so I can't help but feel like they wasted a bit of potential here, although I didn't care too much for the character's humor. The same can be said for Valdo's humor.
Craig's Bond is my favorite and so are the movies, this was a great conclusion to this run of the franchise (that wasn't perfect, but still awesome and the best one so far in my opinion).… Expand

At long last, after much anticipation and delay Daniel Craig's final outing as 007 agent, James Bond, has finally hit theaters in the US and across the world. Now while the fans are all over the map as to where they stand with this film and the franchise as a whole because of it, I was one of many viewers who was left satisfied with the deeper exploration into Bond and the way in which he relates to the people and the world around him. What I love about Craig's take on the womanizing, super spy, is that he is not just a womanizing super spy. This classic Bond traits are a part of an armor, if you will, that he has built around himself to protect him from pain, lose and vulnerability. He so desperately wants to shed it and be able to live in a close, intimate relationship with someone, but Everytime he does it always ends up blowing up in his face, quite literally at the beginning of this film. So because of that he reclaims this "armor" and hides himself behind it, distancing himself from those who he needs to open up to the most fearing the prospect that he had once again shown an error in judgement and opened himself up to the wrong people, or that by association he puts them in peril. He wants the house with the clean cut lawn and the white picket fence, but he can never have it. He is James Bond and someone will always come to disrupt his tiny slice of paradise. The first 20 minutes of this film display this so beautifully. Beyond that the relationship between Bond and Madeline Swan is much better here then in Spectre. Here you actually see how much she means to Bond and that she's not just yet another affair on a espionage mission. She also is given a deep connection to the villain, Safin, who is the the force preventing her from leading a normal life since in some twisted manner, he sees her as some type of close family after pulling her from the lake in the films cold open, no pun intended there. The film also gives Bond an extremely emotional, and poetic send off. All of his life his existence had our his loved ones at risk, and realizing he can't life with them, he sacrifices himself to save them.

Beyond that it the cast, and action, are firing on all cylinders and and it introduces some really cool characters in the new 007 and Paloma who can carry the franchise forward. James Bond will return...… Expand

Great send off for Daniel Craig. The movie isn't perfect but it's definitely up there as one of his better Bond performances. Wish we would have had more screen time with Ana De Armas.

One of the things I loved the most about Daniel Craig's line of Bond movies was not only how they were definitely more gruesome and grounded, but also how they intended to lure deeper into the character. Bond no longer was this untouchable, handsome, slick guy that had no fault, but was now a relatable, undestandable and even broken person that was still, pretty slick.

With No Time To Die we see a seasoned James Bond, more confident than ever, still with the awesome one liners and cockiness, yet we also see him at his most vulnerable. This movie further explores the character's willigness to love in spite of his over the top personality and I find that contrast to be overly interesting. I truly loved how his relationship with Madeline was developed in the movie and the ending was gut wrenching.

Whatsmore, the action scenes while sparce were still very fun to watch and the direction of the movie as a whole was pretty solid. This is a beautiful movie with some really nice shots.

If anything the movie's biggest issue had to do with the villains. I was not a fan of the main villain and even less of a fan of another character involved with the main threat. Rami Malek is a fantastic actor, but his character here really didnt have that much to do and compared to other villains like Silva from Skyfall, he falls really short. Nonetheless, the big world threatening plan was still pretty engaging as a whole.

With this being the ending of the Daniel Craig series of Bond movies and with so much to develop, No Time to Die is pretty long and in some parts it can undeniably drag a bit. In addition, its action scenes, while still pretty fun, are not the best in the series - so in that respect, this may not really be the best of the Craig Bond movies, Skyfall for me and even Casino Royale still sit at the top, but in my opinion, that doesn't really matter because as a conclusion, this still works quite great. This is a fantastic farewell to the best James Bond of all time.… Expand

It is too long, there is too much exposition for a Bond film, and although one or two of the action pieces are great, it does feel muted. Also, although there are nice musical cues from HMSS (and I guess the film to an extent re-tells the ending of HMSS in with a twist) the almost complete lack of the bond theme throughout really detracts. On more positive notes, it is a good conclusion to the Daniel Craig era, which has really told a single story linked across the films, rather than each standing alone. It's also nice to see the standard bond plot being shaken up, rather than repeating much the same story, which while entertaining has rather run it's course. Also, the use of a black actress to portray "007" through much of the movie is quite entertaining, and clearly a fun little dig at the more prejudice members of society. Overall, definitely worth watching despite some short comings. I would have scored a 6, but have added a couple of marks to help add some balance for those unfortunates who were upset about a black woman being 007, and clearly not spotting that the joke was on them.… Expand

Elevated primarily by Cary Joji Fukunaga's borderline faultless vision for the film on an aesthetic level and Craig's palpable affection and tenderness for the character, "No Time To Die" abates the audience's occasional frustrations with the narrative by filling the screen with stunning production design, vibrant cinematography and some franchise-best set pieces. The final act is also truly special. Without giving anything away, I'll say it really was the right ending to go with, but, man, oh, man is it an emotional ride. More than just sad to say this is the last time we'll see Craig playing a character he was truly born to play.… Expand

In his fifth and final act, Daniel Craig's James Bond finds himself forced out of retirement after trying to settle down in favor of a quiet life with Madeline Swann (Lea Seydoux), his love interest from the previous film 'Spectre'. He is soon tasked with stopping an evil mastermind (Rami Malek) from unleashing a mysterious poison upon the world, all while grappling with demons from his past. I gotta be honest, I was really dreading this being the farewell film for Craig's Bond, as he's come to be my absolute favorite actor to portray the iconic British spy over the years. His grounded, flawed, and realistic approach to the character has been unlike any other Bond actor who's come before him, making him a very sympathetic hero. So because I was so sad to see him go, I knew that this film would have to do him and his legacy he's created over the past 15 or so years of portraying the character some pretty solid justice, and fortunately I can report that justice is well-served for his bow-out here. All loose-ends are tied off fittingly, and Bond is truly given the justice and sendoff that he deserved. On top of that, the action sequences are as intense and thrilling to watch as they've ever been in the series. As far as performances go, Craig humanizes Bond more than ever here, and presents him as vulnerable and hesitant, which is something we've never fully seen in the character before. The amount of depth and layers that Craig adds to Bond here with his performance is truly remarkable. Rami Malek is also worth singling out here. Despite playing a rather stereotypical-feeling Bond villain, he manages to make the most of it in a rather subtle and understated yet ultimately chilling and sinister way. Other returning cast members such as Ralph Fiennes as M, Ben Whishaw as Q, Jeffrey Wright as Felix, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny, and Christoph Waltz as Blofeld are all on-point with their performances as well. The addition of some new kick-ass Bond women from actresses Lashana Lynch and Ana de Armas are also a warm welcome. As far as the story and sendoff goes, it does feel a little bit typical of a Bond plot, and while the farewell to Craig's Bond is rather fitting like I said, I will say that there were some aspects of it that felt a little bit rushed and predictable in the final moments, but is mostly overshadowed by the overall buildup to his final moments and the rest of the film's performances and stellar action. I'll truly miss Craig's Bond, but his final film here was a certainly worthy conclusion that's right up there with 'Skyfall' as possibly my second favorite Craig Bond film behind 'Casino Royale' as my favorite. Whoever replaces Craig from here certainly has large shoes to fill and quite the franchise to carry from here.… Expand

The result is a Bond film with the most coherent tone and confidence since Craig's Casino Royale, the only other good Craig Bond movie in my opinion. Addressing the negative reviews, coherent as this effort is, there is not enuf development of Bond's character to make his fate at the end impactful to me. This has been a problem on EVERY serious Bond film. Bond is an archetype of male domination and denial--among other things. How do you evolve that? Still Craig has done more than any other version to modernize Bond. Some critics cite Rami Malik as weak here. No, no, Rami's character is BOND'S SHADOW here. His main job here is to reflect the TOXIC CURSE BOND HAS PLACED ON HIMSELF. This Rami does well; it adds resonance to the climax.… Expand

The short review: Unlike many critics' opinions, I think this is the second best Craig's Bond films; it's better than Skyfall.

What's it like? Bond has quit MI6 and wants to spend his time with his love, Madeline, but her secrets come back to haunt both of them, turning into a big problem and causing many casualties.

Positives: 1) There are many, many good action scenes in this film and you are really getting your money's worth here. Considering that it costs $250m, which is less than the lousy Spectre's $300m and just slightly more than the other lousy Quantum of Solace's $230m, this is money very well spent.

2) The story is rather good. Do not buy into the negative and sexist criticisms of the story-writing. Bond has been evolving since Craig's first film, even being very different in Casino Royale to pre-Craig Bond films. I don't think the majority would want to watch a womanising, woman-slapping and frivolous woman-killing spy in the 21st century. Negatives:

1) The ending really creates a big problem for the future. It's like Marvel killing off half of the superheroes and then needing to use time-travel to fix it later on.

2) The ending is rather unlike past Bonds, who can find a solution where there is obviously none. 3) Many of the physics in the film are just plain wrong. Bombs exploding close to you will kill you due to the blast pressure, or at least permanently deafen you, a high-speed glider transitioning from air to water would break apart in the water, missiles can be disabled mid-flight and nano-bots able to selectively kill are two aspects that are like the hated invisible car of Tomorrow Never Dies.

How would the different age groups rate it? Children: Not rated for children.

Teens: Good - they would not appreciate it as much.

Young adults: Good.

Medium age adults: Excellent - this is a film for this age group. Old adults: Good only, because they would still prefer the old Bond. My rating: 4/5 (no half scores). Worth it to watch it in the cinema.… Expand

The directing by True Detective's Cary Joji Fukanaga is spot-on when the action sequences and tension blends naturally, the sound design is immaculate, and the new and reoccurring cast of characters are pretty good and well written. It can be a questionable ending for many, but No Time to Die entirely makes up for everything that Spectre has done. And there's no doubt that No Time to Die is worth seeing it at the big screen to help celebrate Daniel Craig's iconic portrayal of the 007 Agent we all know and love for one last time.… Expand

The latest entry in the James Bond series is quite unlike any other Bond movie before. This is no happy-go-lucky, nor another survive-from-a-gunfight-without-a-scratch movie. There is personal drama and real relationships at stake. The James Bond character is not only vulnerable but also the most human-like it has been since Casino Royale. You have never seen James Bond caring about a kid's lost stuffed toy, but you see him do exactly that in this movie for the first time.

The plot is -as usual- about an extravagant villain with an army and an elaborate plan to conquer the world. There are plenty of twists and turns, several characters from previous Daniel Craig movies return, and there are nods from older films, particularly "On Her Majesty's Secret Service".

The action is great, the impossible stunts are ever-present, and the chase sequences are fantastic as always.

Most of the actors do a great job in their roles. But the villain's role (played by Rami Malek) wasn't nearly as well-written as the rest of the characters. It needed more fleshing out. The Lyutsifer Safin character is the only weak aspect of this great movie.

The Daniel Craig era is over, and his James Bond literally goes out with a bang. I hope MGM will choose carefully whom they cast in the role to succeed Craig, and I hope they don't ruin it by casting someone with just political correctness in mind.… Expand

His introduction with Casino Royale was a more than clear proposal to take the character to the 21st century, after the forgettable Die Another Day of 2002.

Certainly it can be said that he became a more ruthless spy, inspired by what had been seen with Jason Bourne, but Bond certainly retained and elevated his status, and with the exception of the more than irregular Quantum of Solace, Daniel Craig's run with the character is the strongest I've seen in my opinion.

No Time to Die, does not surpass Skyfall, but it's superior to Spectre. More than anything because even with the excessive duration, the people involved in the creation of this film understood that a story was getting a closure, and they achieved an emotional level that had never really been seen in this franchise before.

Perhaps the biggest flaw I should mention is the poverty of its villains.
Christoph Waltz's brief return as Ernst Stavro Blofeld is basically irrelevant for the plot in general, while Rami Malek's character and performance were sad disappointments.

From then on, No Time to Die is a very entertaining film that manages to give cohesion to its plot, bearing the weight of having made all of Craig's films plot-connected rather than individual stories, as had always been the case with character.
When the closing comes, is emotional, and more than worthy for the character.

It certainly raises some interesting questions about the future of the franchise, particularly because it will be interesting to see if the studio will continue with this cast and with Lashana Lynch as a 00 agent, or if they will decide to start from scratch with Daniel Craig's successor.

Right now it's all assumptions and speculations, but whatever comes up for the character will undoubtedly have a very high bar to reach. But in the meantime, enjoy this great film.… Expand

Firstly, this is a way more satisfying conclusion than Spectre (2016). After watching this, I felt happy at how the story was treated and how James Bond was handled. On that note, I love how emotionally personal this story is for Bond which IFirstly, this is a way more satisfying conclusion than Spectre (2016). After watching this, I felt happy at how the story was treated and how James Bond was handled. On that note, I love how emotionally personal this story is for Bond which I haven't felt since his first outing; Casino Royale (2006). It felt like there was an actual reason and personal stakes for Bond to be invested this time instead of it just being a mission. I also liked that the threat this time is bigger than any threat Bond faced before. It felt like it was a potential world scale disaster which is fitting for the final Craig movie. Some issues I had with Spectre (2016) was that the group itself didn't feel menacing and that Bond's relationship with Madeleine Swann was weak. No Time to Die (2021) does a good job rectifying these issues as Spectre feels more like a proper villainous group, while the relationship between Bond and Swann is an emotional core in this film

Additionally, the action scenes in this film are great. Some memorable ones include a stunning action sequence near the beginning, an awesome shoot out in Cuba and a terrific one-take sequence near the end. It was clear that a lot of effort was put into these action sequences and that there was an effort to try and differentiate them from previous movies. There are also a variety of different beautiful locations in this which leads to some great cinematography. Furthermore, the returning actors are doing the best acting we have seen from them so far and the new ones are all great additions. Craig gives the most emotional and charismatic performance as Bond ever. Craig's performance as Bond is usually stone-cold like an agent would be, with some exceptions in certain scenes. Here we see him have some great banter and jokes that you wouldn't usually see from him but it surprisingly works. Yet despite that, we also get to see Bond at his most emotionally vulnerable state which is delivered wonderfully by Craig's performance. His conflict with new 007, Nomi played by Lashana Lynch, is also enjoyable to watch with both constantly making jabs at each other. I am glad Nomi isn't just a "female bond/007" and has a distinct personality from Bond with a more no-nonsense and serious nature to her. I also enjoyed Ana de Armas as the new Bond girl, Paloma, who represents the classic gorgeous badass we have seen from previous Bond movies. She has such a fun bubbly personality and great chemistry with Bond. Plus her action scenes were great too which makes it such a shame that she is barely in this movie. If No Time to Die (2021) did one thing then it was making me want to see more of Nomi and Paloma. Rami Malek plays the villain Safin and he gives a very creepy and unsettling performance. Whenever he was on-screen he was able to pull his own.

Unfortunately, the villain Safin isn't in the movie much with Spectre being more of a villain for the first half. It's a shame as Rami is great but he doesn't have much of a presence until halfway in. Moreover, Safin motives are incredibly vague and silly. He wants to kill millions of people just because he is evil I guess. He also has a weird obsession with Madeleine but it is never fully clear why exactly he wants her apart from some vague ideas like family or like her. There is also 2 villainous henchman. One with a cybernetic eye that is very forgettable if it weren't for the eye and another with a quirky personality but doesn't appear much. They are both not that great sadly and I wish one of them was cut. A central element in this film is a thing called "Nanobots" and it is as silly as it sounds. It is a MacGuffin that can do whatever stupid thing the plot needs it to do. It is so ridiculous that I question how this could exist in Craig's grounded Bond universe. The Nanobots and the villains make this feel like the most cartoony of the Craig Bond movies which dampen the final outing a bit. The movie is also a bit too long at 2 hours 40 minutes. The pacing drops around the middle and there is a fair amount of moments where it is just exposition dumps. This film could have benefitted from cutting 10-15 minutes off the runtime. Legendary composer, Hans Zimmer, is the one who did the music score for No Time to Die (2021) which sounds like a match made in heaven. However, his score is so generic, plain and even forgettable as the music score lacks a lot of impacts that you would see in Hans Zimmer score for other movies.… Expand

Time was, you could depend on the latest James Bond flick to offer reliably frivolous fun. For a long time, women were interchangeable props, evil was well-defined and all seemed right with the world. “No Time to Die,” Daniel Craig’s finale as Bond, demonstrates emphatically that it is not your father’s, or grandfather’s, version of the franchise.

The script by veteran writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade is presumably leavened at points by contributions from Director Cary Joji Fukunaga (who directed the amazing “True Detective” Season 1) and Phoebe Waller-Bridge (“Fleabag,” “Killing Eve”). Apparently none of the group was an editor. The circuitous plot runs almost three hours, so bring along plenty of snacks (or a catheter, your call). The opening scene shows Bond’s idyllic getaway to Italy with love interest Madeleine (an excellent Lea Seydoux), who was first introduced in 2015’s “Spectre.” Soon enough, he’s nearly blown up. In a stunning plot twist, it turns out Bond has enemies. Arch-villain Lyutsfier Safin (see what they did there?!) has created nanobots programmed with poisons individualized to the DNA of his targets. The world hangs in the balance. Bombs, gunfire, car chases, missile strikes and general carnage appear as necessary. Yada, yada. As always, the plot is not the strong point here.

Two elements make the Daniel Craig iteration of this series worthwhile. First, a lot of fabulous actors have continued to turn up. Ben Whishaw (Q), Ralph Fiennes (M), Cristoph Waltz (Blofeld), Jeffrey Wright (the seventh actor to play CIA agent Felix Leiter in the series) and Ana de Armas (who temporarily steals the show as a clever, enthusiastic junior agent with three weeks of special training) are all excellent. There’s even a new agent (Lashana Lynch) who’s Black, badass and has appropriated the designation 007.

But what truly sets apart this film, the last five Bond films actually, is Craig’s interpretation of the role. He’s much more self-aware - and worse for wear - than his invulnerable predecessors. He’s wrestling explicitly with trusting and caring about the important people in his life. Themes of loyalty and loss permeate the script. As a result of Bond’s humanity, the storyline becomes more serious and more somber because there’s so much more at stake. This Bond is aware that life is filled with choices that have consequences and that he can’t stand above the fray. This film’s sense of finality and conclusion is further heightened by its incorporation of references to other films in the series – an island fortress (“Dr. No”), a spear gun (“Thunderball”), a visitor badge (not a hat) that is tossed to its perfect resting place in M’s outer office. And there’s the film’s closing number, Louis Armstrong’s “We Have All the Time in the World,” which was the theme for 1969’s “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.” It all helps to create a sense of wistful retrospective.

What gets short shrift in all this is the villainy. Rami Malik’s Safin never reaches the epic proportions of past criminal masterminds. Christoph Waltz’ reprise as Blofeld is short-lived, literally. But there’s plenty of mayhem and derring-do to make up for this minor shortcoming.

Overall, “No Time to Die” is a very worthwhile installment for this franchise. Because Bond is playing for higher emotional stakes, the whole enterprise is much more satisfying. “No Time to Die” offers a story that is surprisingly stirring. Not shaken, not stirred, just right.… Expand

He feels more vulnerable than his other films. His range of emotion here is great and much better than the other films. Lea Seydoux is a major improvement from the previous film Spectre. Her character there was weak but here, she is so much more fleshed out and that’s the same for Christoph Waltz even though he has very limited screen time. Ana De Armas is a scene stealer here. I absolutely loved her character and performance and I would love to see more of her in the future. Rami Malek gives one of the best Bond villain performances but the issue with him is that his character is criminally underutilized. He isn’t in the film a lot and I really wish he was because he was that good. The action set pieces here are fantastic. Each set piece works to up the previous one and it works with the final action set piece being a one man army scene and I loved it. The cinematography, direction, and music are all fantastic. Hans Zimmer produces one of the best Bond scores ever while Cary Joji Fukunaga’s Direction gives the film a sense of finale and scale. The emotion in this film is off the charts. I’m not lying when I see the end of the film almost made me cry. The film knows how to tug at the audiences heartstrings and it really tugs hard here. If you love James Bond then this film is essential viewing. Please check it out when you can.… Expand

The speed at which Bond experiences loss and pain is matched by his frenetic efforts to finish one last great mission for his nation and his world. All the fears of an emasculated Bond were way overblown, if anything he epitomized Commander Bond, and got his due respect. This movie is quite emotional and brings the Craig era to a satisfactory close, tying threads going back to Casino Royale. The last half hour really packed a punch to the gut, showing that even Bond is beholden to love, and blood, and will do anything to make things right. The saddest words are indeed ‘we have all the time in the world’.… Expand

In my opinion, there is one rule that applies to Bond films with Daniel Craig, and that is alternating quality. Casino Royale was great for me, Quantum of Solace was good, Skyfall was great again and Spectre was above average. So I was wondering if it would work this time and if the cards would turn in favour of No Time to Die, and I mean great film again. Here, that little quality rule of mine has been proven true, and the latest Bond with Craig is great again. Right from the start the film sucked me in with a nice location and the subsequent action pumping up the pace followed by a classic musical intro, this time from Billie Eilish and yeah, I liked it. Then some more action and I'm not gonna lie, I was slowly getting sick of the action. The pace really started to pick up and the locations started to rotate and yes, there are a lot of locations and a lot of rotation, which I thought was great in the finale. The film does slow down after a while and after the delicious action that drew me in I was ready to follow some deeper plot. The story was cool in my opinion and it was definitely helped by the villain here played by Rami Malek and for me it was a great choice as I thought he was great, even though he wasn't in the film much in the finale. I'm coming to one last thing and that's the overall length. The film is actually almost 3 hours long, which is really quite a lot, but for me it didn't hurt at all in the finale. The last Bond as Craig, so the last final charge, which didn't even bore me with the length because as I mentioned there are changing locations and there is quite a bit of action which I enjoyed watching. So in the end I enjoyed Daniel Craig's last adventure as Bond to the fullest and for me this is a great film that beautifully and I might add unexpectedly concluded a Bond saga that I can recommend to Bond fans.… Expand

I thought this was a good final installment for this Bond series. It’s not as good as Casino Royale or Skyfall, but it’s certainly better than Quantum of Solace and Spectre. Hits all the fun Bond tropes, while still keeping that grittynessI thought this was a good final installment for this Bond series. I will start by say this movies greatness is unfortunately over shadowed by once again demonstrating the left wing snow flake propaganda is alive and well in the movie biz. Please, its not an opinion when its so obvious. They kill off James Bond? MGM can suck it. Killed off to have his 007 number now replaced by an Afro American woman? Is she trans too? Lets cover all the bases. Its obvious again they have to give her 007 to make a point not some other double 00 marker. This is not a race thing but appears Hollywood is truly the racist. All it whats to do is make you see color.This is the end of an era. I was raised to see the person not the color. The millennial socialist regime is now running the studios. Im surprised her name isn't Jane Bond. Cancel culture at its finest. Mark my words, the next 007 movie will be the biggest flop. People want to James Bond, not 007. Orwellian times are here.… Expand
