In my opinion this film is great, I think is funny that the synopsis is very similar to the synopsis of the previous film, but I prefer this one because is better in everything. I recommend it.

Bad plot based on propaganda inspired by adjacent events. Nobody intelligent would give a pass. CIA are the bad guys, and being aligned with such a group makes IMF bad guys by association.

One major technical flaw within the first 20 minutes. Shooting Kalashnikovs down a hallway would not shoot every wall around Hunt (Tom Cruise) and thus, Christopher McQuarrie is an unintelligent director.

The third act is pretty good though, but the CIA are the bad guys, so I don't think it deserves anything higher than a 6, but with all the other negatives I'll give it a 4.

Though dramatic, I believe Bourne gets it right; the suspense and drama completely engross me because the realism is there. Bond is also more my style, although being less realistic than the Bourne films. It's very different from Mission Impossible. Even though I know it's fiction, it still has the air of possibility (despite the name), making it more difficult to watch. Everything from the disguises to the escapes to the chases and the final sting is just too well-executed, coordinated, and implausible. My recommendation is to turn off your intellect, accept that this is a work of fiction and just enjoy it. Expand

Simon Pegg was great comic relief in Ghost Protocol, but here he's the heart and soul of the movie (God I love Benji!).

Rebecca Ferguson is also great, though I will admit it was very frustrating how despite the fact that she kept betraying everyone, Lane just kept giving her more chances. You'd think he'd just kill her by now.

Speaking of Lane, I like him. He's no Philip Seymour Hoffman, but Sean Harris is still one of the most interesting MI villains if solely for the choices he makes with his performance.

Not much else say other than it's a badass action movie and probably the entry where I most care about the story. Not as slickly directed or well paced as the previous one, but it makes up for it. Boy does it make up for it.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. One of the more underrated movies in the MI franchise, but if this puts you off don't let it because it's not thumbs down to the movie, in-fact it's probably because the script is more down to earth and believable that I give this movie 10/10. Everything falls effortlessly into place and that is attributed to the director, good script and great acting.
McQuarrie literally rewrites the rules, setting up the biggest stunt in the movie in the 1st 5 mins and thinks nothing of it. It's a bold move, but it works.
I enjoyed this movie thoroughly.

That makes the CIAThe Missio Impossible franchise achieves it's fifth movie. Our hero now is facing a terrorist organization named Syndicate, but this time the villain is always ahead of Ethan Hunt in what he do, so he never catches him. That makes the CIA thinks that Ethan is mad and the Impossible Mission Force (IMF) is outdated and needs to be closed. So both CIA and the terrorists will eventually wants Ethan. So our main guy and his team will do their best to eradicate the Syndicate. Directed by Christopher McQuarrie.
The main problem with almost all the other mission impossible movie was it's story, in this one it isn't much different, but i gotta say that it is much better compared to the others, i got engaged in the unroll of what was happpening. Of course that it is still needed a lot of suspension of disbelief in some moments, there are somethings that just don't make sense and is essential to make the plot flow, is needed to get away with it, but the cern leading aspects of the story are very nice, it does brough back a little of what the first one had. The aspect of having double agents or even a triple agent is really intriguing, you don't get to be sure in what side someone is what we had in the first one that we kind of lost during the franchis but now is back, and that is a very nice aspect. Considering that this is the fifth movie and 19 years after the first one come out, we have a lot of lore of this movies, and the director new it and didn't waste time to refer a lot of the others, even in a little dialogue or even in a whole sequence, that didn't bothered me, it was together with the narrative and was nice. The finally moments of the movie are exactly like other one, depend on you if you think this as a nice reference or a creative problem during the course of the movie. It does have a lot of cliches, but the director worked well with those. The chemistry between all the old characters worked very well, incluiding the new one with Ilsa, she with Ethan was very organic. The villain isn't bad, but maybe a little more of motivation, explanation in what he was doing would have been very welcome.
The acting one more time was pretty good. Tom Cruise of course doing a great job, mainly because of his actions, that he delivery perfectly, and also giving to us a completely different Ethan, an evolved one that doesn't waste time with smiles and stuff, it is really nice to see the character evolving. Rebecca Ferguson is by far the best action company that Tom has had during all of these movies, she is perfect as a multiple agent spy, and also have that look of regret in some moments, or that confident one, she was great. Simon Pegg was one more time a comic relief with a lot of functional and crucial moments to the plot, he is always very funny and here he keeped that tone and definely did a great job, he also had some dramatic little moments that were very functional. Jeremy Renner didn't had much to do, but he worked very well, always good to have good actors doing support parts, help the movie to keep stable. Ving Rhames is back as a needed in a crucial part, he can maintain the character characteristics since the first one, he was very nice. Sean Harris is the main villain here, and i gotta say that he killed it, he totally convinced me that he is a psycho with that calm voice, saying "please" all the time, he was terrifyng.
The action scenes are wonderful, the main reason is that we don't have much cgi or green screen, things are actually real, and that makes a total diference, i could feel the place and everything that was there. I gottaa say that the best action sequence of the franchise isn't in this one, but in general, talking about the whole movie, it is the one with the best amount of action, all of them worked, some of them got me worried about the situation, putting our main guy in a extreme situation with that level of realism is always a memorable part.
The soundtrack worked, it helped to give context the tension in some scenes. The main theme is still very dope, even that in this one it didn't had any peculiarity. And one more time it have that very important part, without cgi, without green screen and without doubles, things are real, and one more time Tom Cruise was brilliant, he is definely one of the few actors that make real stuff.
The cinematography is very beautiful, the movie takes place in several countries, and it maked visually have a lot of diversity here, different places in different moments, that was very nice.
This movie is great, the realism and the action are all memorable, the story is very good, there are some cliches and things that are out of place, but if you relieve this, it will surely be a very good time.

Welcome back to the wonderland where impossible things happen nine times out of ten, and human bodies don't break down as they use to in the real world, even if one happens to crash with a superbike!

Yes, it's the fifth "Mission: Impossible", aiming for the same throne as "Fast and Furious" and 007 series, among many others. This is the genre colloquially known as "competence porn", which means usually drama or action movies full of skilful and powerful people doing tricky stuff which you should not try at home. And watching them do their thang, all confident and **** is a big part of the viewing pleasure.

"M:I" is all about action and big setpieces, starting strong with the airplane-infiltration and never letting us down later either. Quality job all around. As usual, action relies heavily on orchestrated movement, so, don't expect much realism.

I would say that "Rogue Nation" doesn't try to be as massive action movie as two of the previous ones, or most of the "Fast and Furious", or 007 with Daniel Craig. But the result works well, everything is in its right place and there's always enough entertainment.

The plot and the characters are really thin, to make room for the big setpieces. So there's not much to remember afterwards to call it a real classic. After all, there are so many epic action movies these days, even fairy-tales go this way now. But I really liked "Rogue Nation". Tom Cruise still knows how to get down like them youngsters!

" Refrito Imposible"

It hits some familiar beats the spy movie genre is known for. This leads to a sense of predictability in it's twists, turns, and potential double-crosses. That's not to say it isn't exciting. Well-crafted action, breezy plot, likable cast, and appreciated sense of humor keep things entertaining. Now when I say humor I don't mean that this is part comedy like Kingsman: The Secret Service was. The movie does intend to make you laugh in a way to keep things light and say "hey, this is a fun spy movie."

And fun it is. "Rogue Nation" manages to avoid being overly serious while still having a solid plot with a sense of danger. The fun side of things complements everything well and the cast is incredibly strong and all sense of chemistry with one another that over films should rightfully envy. With one of the best chase scenes in years and Rebecca Ferguson bringing the sexiness that the latest Bond flick was sorely lacking, The latest Mission: Impossible proves to be another enjoyable spy flick despite not moving the genre forward. It delivers the moments of impossibility that it's title implies. That's enough for me.

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: Once again, we shouldn't expect anything particularly fresh here, and this does drag out a little compared the previous installment, thanks to the somewhat baffling plot and extra ending. Don't think about it too hard, just enjoy it - because it's great fun
VERDICT: It's another Mission: Impossible film so it makes you smile from ear to ear. And for that it deserves big credit.

The actions are also great in MI5, Tom Cruise and the regulars do a great job but then the addition of Alec Baldwin is alright and Jeremy Renner is nice to see with some more screen time, Simon Pegg is also perfect in his roll adding some comedic elements without taking away from action. Mission Impossible : Rogue Nation reviewed
by jd ep

It's been almost 20 years since Tom Cruise took on the mantle of Ethan Hunt, seemingly the only member of the Impossible Missions Force, and "Rogue Nation" is his 5th cinematic outing. This time around, his organization is under fire by CIA boss, Alec Baldwin, and a Senate Sub-committee voting to disband the IMF, stating most of their successes are based off of Luck than actual tactics. Hunt and his team have faced overwhelming odds in past film; from their own leader going rogue, to stopping a super virus, to a really mad Philip Seymour Hoffman, to stopping a nuke mid-air after accidentally blowing up the Kremlin. Now with no more IMF or governmental support, Ethan Hunt is searching for the secret organization that possibly has ties to everything thats happened in the past, known only as "The Syndicate" which also has infiltrated the IMF at its heart, and Ethan can only trust his team; Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg and Jeremy Renner. The rest of the films usually introduces a larger cast of team members who inadvertently die on missions or from treachery, but this time its just returners. But this film isn't just about the boys, the female lead.. and really, only woman in the movie, Ilsa Faust played by Rebecca Ferguson (who i thought was Michelle Monaghan at first) does her fair share of asskicking, double / triple crossing... its really kind of hard to tell whose team she's on. There's almost a love story between Hunt and Faust, but Ethan is still married or has a fiancé but she's never addressed, he just let her go at the end of Ghost Protocol.

Mission Impossible: Rouge Nation is the most fun Mission Impossible ever. It offers epic action sequences, gorgeous locations and big laughs. There's no real character growth or anything, just procedural action sequences, Rogue Nation knows exactly what it is, it's more, more adventure, more humor, more excitement. You know who everyone is, and you know you'll probably never see the female lead again as seems to be the case with M:I female leads, which is sad, because Ferguson carries most of the film. Her character, Faust is the central source of pathos, as her life hangs in the balance, being played with by her government and the baddies and the only person she can trust is Ethan Hunt. Jeremy Renner reprises his role as Brandt, taking the backseat in most of the excitement, Ving Rhames's Luther gets more field time and shows why he's best the guy offsite, while Simon Pegg's Benji is more confident in his role as a hacker turned field agent. Though the centerpointe for all the action is Tom Cruise, whether he's flushing himself down a giant toilet, escaping an opera house, in a motorcycle chase through Morocco or hanging off the side of a cargo plane, there's little Ethan Hunt can't accomplish.

While Rogue Nation has a stand-alone feel, its also a direct sequel to Ghost Protocol. Never before in a Mission Impossible movie have they ever addressed what happened in any movie before, this one recaps what new audience members may have missed in films past, while also never mentioning what happened with any other members of the IMF. But I can live with that, if I want to see gorgeous set pieces, insane action sequences, Tom Cruise risking his life and Simon Pegg making fun of everything, I'll gladly come back to the theatre for more Mission Impossible films if they just focus on. Where the film felt a bit lacking to me, was in the gadget department. Mission Impossible movies are known for their amazing tech. In Ghost Protocol, the BMW i8 that Ethan drives to the Indian Billionaire's party in, I thought we would never see, it looked too futuristic; In Los Angeles the i8 is everywhere now. While all the heroes drive Bimmers (and one Range Rover) the only cool car thing is a biometric reader on the drivers side window to lock and unlock the car. That seemed cool, and a way to get smudgy windows. The only other cool toy was an automatic lockpick credit card, there were a few unorthodox firearms in the film as well, but no exploding gum, no laser watches or dynamite pens (granted a few of those are Bond staples, but still).

Go see Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation

Desperate times, desperate measures

It is absolutely thrilling to watch with an almost non stop fast action paced adventure. Especially stunningMission-Impossible Rogue Nation was one of the best movies I have seen all year! It is filled with action, adventure, and emotion. It is absolutely thrilling to watch with an almost non stop fast action paced adventure. Especially stunning performances go out to both Tom Cruise, and Simon Pegg. This movie was released on July, 31, 2015. This story is about special agents who were apart of the IMF (Impossible Mission Force) which was recently disbanded, and their fight against a new threat called the Sindicate. The Sindicate is trying to establish a new world order and it is up to Ethan Hunt and his team of rogue spies to take them down. This movie exemplifies many good qualities which make it the great clip you can see today. These include great actors, amazing special effects and stunts, and emotion which really catches the watcher's eyes and heart. Mission-Impossible Rogue Nation falls under the criteria of being an action, adventure, and drama. It carries a message that shows all of the hard work that the team has to put forth to try and save the world, and might even inspire some to stand up against evil in their own community in whatever way possible.
The great actors involved in the movie are one of the main reasons that this was a great hit! Tom Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, and Jeremy Renner just to name a few did a phenomenal job acting in this movie. As Spangle states via metacritic “Tom Cruise and Rebecca Ferguson have fantastic chemistry and both turn in top-notch performances.” Jeremy Renner and Simon Pegg were also very good supporting actors in this film. They both had extremely funny moments, making me at many times laugh out loud. They all know what their doing and it shows! Their performance had a great mix of seriousness and comedy, making a very entertaining clip.
The special effects and stunts in this movie were mind-blowing! Going into the movie I knew that Tom Cruise did all of his stunts, but wow! He was once strapped to the side of an Airbus A400 and it took him eight takes to get it right! The special effects working side by side with the stunts make the movie look as real as possible, because most of it was. Peter Caranicas from Variety news had an insider's take on the filming of Mission Impossible Rouge Nation’s Airbus scene “The crew went through several takes over two days, with the plane climbing to nearly 5,000 feet each time. “Everything you see is real,” Eastwood says. “It was all Tom.”” It is just amazing what Tom Cruise is willing to accomplish in order to give his audience the best possible viewing experience.
Emotion runs very high almost constantly with this movie. There are so many fast paced action scenes that it make it hard to catch a breath. Ethan hunt and his fellow operatives are not only under physical emotion but also mental. They are accompanied by Rebecca Ferguson who plays Ilsa Faust, and are unsure if she is friend or foe. Shadowyx12 makes many good points coming from a review off IMdB, “The action scenes in this film are also some of the best in this franchise. Soon after showing Ethan Hunt take off on the side of an airbus, the film kicks it into overdrive and delivers an adrenaline rush packed with REALLY well done car chases, okay hand-to-hand combat scenes (they're kind of choppy), and ONE very suspenseful, pulse-pounding scene involving multiple snipers.”
In conclusion, Misson Impossible Rogue Nation has the potential to be one of the best and emotionally draining movies of the year. Between it’s great actors involved in the making of the movie, mind blowing special effects and stunts, to all of it's emotionally draining and high intensity sequences, I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good action thriller clip which will get them talking and amazed about what these special agents were willing to do for their country in need. The movie may have some minor errors in the film direction, such as props being misplaced and what not, but I believe most would be thoroughly entertained after watching this great clip.

I Still can't understand why there was no background score in high thrilled sequences. Too much forward and backward story was confusing. Brad Bird did a great job assembling a team for IMF but McQuarrie put half of it to rest and only Job Banji would do was to show his bad comic timing skills. A somewhat less action-packed sequel, but that totally is a great and critical movie-flick.

Mission Impossible is back, with Tom Cruise still hanging around with his great performance to action and acting. Rogue Nation starts pretty fast with a stunning opening-sequence and a beautiful first act that's touching, artistic and beautiful. Simon Pegg co-stars as the somewhat newcomer to the spy-genre and contributes in his own funny & entertaining way. The plot progresses in a less action-packed version, and it place more energy to dialogs and chemistry between characters rather than on action. It’s one thing that might be boring for some, and awesome to others. For me was it a somewhat boring ride with all the dry dialogs and more talking than doing. But the dialogs are of course still very good even though that there are some classic “obvious reaction dialogs” and that I expected more action. The action that is present is on the other hand very intense and somewhat unique. Some of them stands out as a brand and original concept, meanwhile others are the same that we’ve already seen. Rogue Nation is a very stunning and, on my behalf, a critically acclaimed movie that got many things from strong actors to a well written story. The villain however, got no depth, and some of the minor characters are so non-existing due to lack of plot-details around them. Some of them are just there for a specific reason to enlighten the power of the film. Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation is still a great movie, even though I was deeply disappointed due to lack of action and a less interesting plot that made the dialogs a bit dry. The plot is still slightly unique, even though I expected more due to the trailers, but the humor is still what I was hoping for! So random and hilarious!

It’s obviously a disappointment from my point of view because the movie isn't that much more intense than the trailers, and it’s not that rememberable either. I expected a lot more, even though it really is a stunning and critically great action-flick with exquisite acting, a well written script and well visualized characters.

Personal rating: 70/100
Critical rating: 80/100

With all leading actors and actresses coming back to reprise their roles we had an idea of what we could expect. However, the film ultimately under delivers and creates something that is for the most part unmemorable.
The film begins with an epic and exciting piece of Tom Cruise trying to enter a moving plane which is both tense and funny to watch – especially knowing that Tom Cruise actually did the stunt. Albeit this, I couldn’t help but realise that this scene all of a sudden kind of made me feel a little more sceptical about the rest of the film, as if you had seen the adverts you would’ve known that this scene was one of the main selling points for the film and then, 2 minutes into the film they just throw it away. Great.
The film also continues with a one note bad guy who is completely unforgettable. To act his part of the bad guy he ranges from speaking almost inaudibly and with so little emotion that it was frustrating to watch him and then to make him show he is a scary guy if mad, he has a wonderful little eye twitch to make you really nervous. Obviously he has made a better villain than Hoffman’s portrayal in MI:3 (please detect sarcasm).
The story also has a sort of incoherence to it and disorderly fashion to it that makes it a bit bland but once all characters meet up it becomes quite fun, even though the ending to the film is pretty stupid and doesn’t really make any sense as to how it would’ve been possible to set up. There are also other scenes in the film that are outright **** as well, and I’m all up for a bit of non-realism every now and then but as for one scene in particular I just found it a bit too much. Having Tom Cruise fall of a motorcycle at breakneck speeds not wearing any leather s but instead a Hawaiian t shirt and come off completely unscathed (at the speed he was going out he should’ve been dead anyway) is just too much for me to handle. That **** is impossible (hohoho).
Now I have the negatives off my chest I can move onto the positives. The series has added more comedy into the films as they’ve gone along and they are a great addition, with the 5th entry adding some hilarious scenes into the mix. There are also a few pretty awesome set action pieces, 2 noticeably cool ones being a fight at an opera house and Tom Cruise’s underwater infiltration scene. That scene though, albeit tense, was slightly stupid as you can see that they are struggling for ideas for their typical heist/infiltration scenes and the method they were using to detect intruders there seemed a bit questionable.
Overall, if you want to see an action film Rogue Nation is a fair enough candidate to pick up and watch, but if you’re expecting it to live up to Ghost Protocol, don’t hold your breath: otherwise a woman will have to dive in after you a resuscitate you.

One of its weak points is its villains, not the syndicate, but the boss of the syndicate himself, you would expect someone like him to be intimidating be he just isn't, he is...weird. McQuarrie,Believe it or not, until now I have never seen a Mission Impossible film. While I love action films, the premise just never appealed to me, but when I heard Christopher McQuarrie would be Directing this latest one, I had to see it. McQuarrie, the brains behind Persons Unknown, always tells imaginative stories, that while aren't that believable, are still extremely entertaining. In the fifth installment of Mission Impossible, the franchise is anything but stale as it is every bit as fast paced and extreme as I thought. I was expecting the action and for Tom Cruise to play his usually arrogant self, but what I wasn't expect was just how intense and in depth the story was. There is also the villain to consider, who was so much better than I hoped he'd be. I had always thought of Mission Impossible as sort of a mix between Get Smart and James Bond, and was presently surprised to learn that I was way off base. Rogue Nation is actually a very clever story, that isn't is as comical or as over the top with espionage as I thought it would be. In fact, the only thing that really was what I expected was Tom Cruise. While he's not my favorite actor, he's not a bad one either, I just never liked the fact that every character he plays is just so full of themselves. No matter the situation, Ethan Hunt was always so sure he had all the answers and knew exactly what to do, and even when he was wrong it didn't deter him from getting right back into it. Rogue Nation taught me a lesson I never seem to get, in that you really can't judge a book by it's cover. Certain stories may appear to be one thing, but you can never know for sure unless you sit down and watch them. Expand

In my view, the second film is the low point, while the first, despite its confusing plot, is the best one. Overall, the film series follow a film-making formula that, unlike the TV series, revolves around the boldness and non-realistic plans of its main character, Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise).

Same thing happens here as with the previous films. Ethan Hunts saves the day again from a couple of unsaveable situations, except that this film is better than the previous three films, perhaps even the first film.

Who would think the film is great? Most people would love it.
Who would think the film is only so-so? The elderly may be a bit tired of the car chases, non-realism, etc.
Who would think the film is lousy? No one.

Score: 4/5 (no half score). Worth paying to watch it in the cinemas.

(A true rarity in the movie industry.) I thought that "Ghost Protocol" was a pretty darn good movie so I had a bit of trepidation about whether "Rogue Nation" would be any better. THIS MOVIE DELIVERED!!!

This movie gets my vote as the best of the summer.

It's a good story and very good action sequences; what you would expect in a good summer movie. But, I thought it handled a main question of many good spy movies in great fashion: "Who can you trust?"

Another thing I really like about it to was the ending (which I won't reveal). But, the way the movie ended reminded me of the Mission: Impossible TV series (which, of course, the movie series is based on). Now, that feeling is one that is not easily duplicated!

I haven't read anyone pointing this out yet. Yes this movie is full of crazy action (with a bit of a nod to Empire Strikes back oddly enough in an climactic scene), but the way the movie is shot, the fact that it actually gives you breathing space now and then for story, the complexity of its plot, the fact that certain scenes especially inside and outside the opera house are very distinctly influenced by Alfred Hitchcock, and the incredible classic old world style of Rebecca Furguson, make this an action film unlike any other this century, and a stand-out unique entry in the Mission Impossible series - for my money the very best of them. With a fresh script from writer and director Chirstopher Mcquarrie and fine acting by Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner, Rebecca Ferguson and Alec Baldwin, Mr. Cruise performs admirably in his role as leader of the IMF. The film is fast paced with breathtaking action scenes and a plot that keeps unraveling at the same speed as the action on the screen. Rumored to have performed many of the action scenes himself, Mr. Cruse is the definitive action hero. Although slightly over 2 hours in length, the viewer is never concerned about that because he or she is too busy following what is taking place on the screen. I give the film an 8.0 and trust that most who watch it will be as pleasantly surprised as I was to find that it is a mission possible for some sequels to be as good or better than the original.. What really got us going is how many times any mortal being would have died in this movie (or at least gotten pretty wrecked up), but somehow Ethan Hunt escapes without so much as a nick.
