My family loved the movie and central messages about family and belonging. It's got a great cast and soundtrack. This movie definitely blew my expectations. I was originally excited when I heard "Top of the World" in the trailer but then other snippets of the movie came out and I lost interest as I thought it would be too child friendly for me...This movie definitely blew my expectations. I was originally excited when I heard "Top of the World" in the trailer but then other snippets of the movie came out and I lost interest as I thought it would be too child friendly for me... fortunately I forced myself to go see it and it blew all expectations! Super cute, go in with the mindset to enjoy a fun family movie that will pick you up and you will have the best time! Shawn's voice is incredible and a lot of Greatest Showmen feelings in the songs. Went with my young niece to watch this movie with an open mind. To say this film is pretentious, bland and boring is a vast understatement. First problem, casting a pop singer with no Broadway experience once so ever is a cheap shot atWent with my young niece to watch this movie with an open mind. To say this film is pretentious, bland and boring is a vast understatement. First problem, casting a pop singer with no Broadway experience once so ever is a cheap shot at attracting teenage girls to this movie at the expense of the larger audience. Shawn Mendes simply does not have the range for an animated character... his voice holds one monotone. This may explain why the crocodile doesn't speak. Consequentially, the rest of the cast - which has some veterans of the screen - are trying to overcompensate for his shortcomings thus overacting their roles. Music is uninspired and the story line predictable. Given the high cost of movie theatre tickets nowadays, I wish I saved my money. This movie should have gone straight to streaming.… Expand

O começo do filme é ágil e comJavier Bardem acha o tom correto entre a caricatura típica para filmes infantis e a personalidade mais humana, fazendo um artista que, para se reinventar no showbusiness, depara-se como um crocodilo cantor!
O começo do filme é ágil e com muita música, e me enganou completamente, pensava que estaria em um musical. Uma pena que todo decai em seguida, embora o menino Josh e a gata Loretta sejam bem fofos, narrar a história da família e seu estranhamento com o crocodilo na casa, já crescido, ganhou contornos mais dramáticos e da comédia de absurdos do que musical, o que sinceramente foi uma opção que fez o filme diminuir em emoção.
Ou seja, temos um filme sobre crocodilo cantor que canta pouquíssimo! Tudo bem usar, por exemplo, os problemas dos pais do garoto e suas descobertas no mundo, o problema com os vizinhos, mas precisava mesmo termos que aturar uma reunião de condomínio chatíssima daquela? O filme tinha uma preciosidade em mãos e soube explorar muito pouco.
Talvez abra espaço para uma continuação, já que o filme termina com tudo muito bem resolvido e o crocodilo finalmente podendo explorar seus dotes como cantor. Espero que sim. Pois aqui, ficou a desejar.
No mais, excetuando-se a atuação já citada do Bardem, todos os demais usam e abusam das caras e bocas, sem conferir um certo capricho a seus personagens, meio que unidimensionais, e por incrível que pareça a composição do crocodilo está muito boa. Alguns núcleos como o Josh na escola poderiam até ser apagados, de tão mal desenvolvidos que foram, para ceder espaço ao crocodilo. Vejamos se teremos continuação e, por favor, um musical de verdade!… Expand
