Aside from the advantage that I did get to see it with my girlfriend, "Love, Rosie" is your average romantic comedy to watch over the summer with the complicated and sometimes annoying chemistry (?) between Alex and Rosie intact. 'Love, Rosie' starts weak, not intriguing, but then explodes - love, life, looooove. Give it a chance, it's romantic, funny and so sweeeeeeet.. Oh, my.. too many tears for movies this days. I would watch it again.

Not that it opened old wounds but I had that knot in my stomach watching Alex and Rosie being idiots. As movie goes, I guess it means that they've done something right. I was emotionally involved in the movie, I guess we've all been in this kind of mess, and that's probably the reason why Love, Rosie kind of works. The film takes us back to a place where we don't really want to go because no matter how weak the script seem to be - the life span could have been better handled - I still connected with the film.

Lily Collins and Sam Claflin have an amazing chemistry on screen, which does not take long to be established in the movie. Their chemistry is there and the audience's history with this kind of complicated relationships is what makes the movie. Collins' performance was better than I expect but she did not look like a mom, not at all, by the end she looked like the Katie's sister. The same goes for Claflin, who blew my mind in The Riot Club, he gave a great performance but he looked the same, it's even hard to believe that time had passed if not for Katie growing up.

Love, Rosie is a good film, it's easy to connect to it, a very nice romantic comedy.

The previews were exciting, Lilly Collins and Sam Claflin are very talented and very likable, and the story looks appealing. What went WRONG? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

You can't respect the friendship by denying the facts.

Definitely a modern love story. The movie covers the story of the title character, Rosie's 12 years of life. From the night when she celebrates her 18th birthday till becomes the 30 year old mother. It's a long journey in the real life, and the movie report only the romance side of the life as it is a romantic comedy. Based on the book named 'Where Rainbow Ends', but lots of changes have been done to make a youthfully celebratible movie for the young generation.

Usually, the famous romantic dramas are slow, lengthy, and well developed characters. Of course, this one was a romcom, though, much better in many aspect with less emotions and swift pace. About the characters, it was Rosie's perspective and having Alex as a counterpart, the rest are not given much importance other than permits a fair display. Nowadays I kind like Lily Collins, she's cute, maybe it is a crush. But that does not the reason to I like this film, not entirely true. I find it somewhat atypical with many convincing scenes and lines.

The story is intensifyingly frustrates us as it takes extreme turns all the time just to make a further riddle and complicate. But that is how the screenplay survives or there won't be any story to tell. It might be Rosie's romance, but you don't have to be a woman/girl to enjoy this film. I don't believe such kind of categorisation, because in the earlier time everyone believed animation is for children only and then it proved wrong. So if a man can watch a movie without damaging his brain, losing his eyesight, or becoming paralysed, then I don't see an issue rather making up everything himself. Hope you all enjoy the movie as I did.

So let me explain this predictable plot, so Alex (Claflin) and Rosie (Collins) were best friends since they were five years old, Alex tells Rosie his weird twisted dreams. They couldn't be more perfect for one another or could they? You have to be an idiot if you don't know the answer. Love is their worst enemy, so is making good choices they have when their teenagers they have feelings for one another but they won't admit it. At their prom night, Alex and Rosie have a passionate kiss, Rosie is too drunk to remember that kiss, but at the same time she loses her virginity to her classmate Greg (Christian Cooke) resulting in an unexpected pregnancy. Such new coincides with Alex's move to Boston medicine. As Alex and Rosie go in different paths, an inevitably romance is on the rocks. I found the lead characters dumb, the two lead characters have an annoying chemistry with one another, which the results are an unwell made rom-com with amazing production standpoint and appealing chemistry with Lilly Collins and Sam Claflin, but with a better script. But I still enjoyed it and somewhere I have strange connections with it. 3 out of 5 stars Expand

The plot also lends itself to the beauty of the love story, as does the sparkle of the leads who depict every turn of the story magically and with true conviction. It deals with some serious themes too and will give audiences a rom-com without the cheesy chick-flick style of most modern alternatives
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: The pacing is very odd. It starts slow, then big events happen in sequence really fast and bizzarely. The structure with the flashbacka etc is interesting, but the lack of finesse in the overall pacing of the film is it's only real flaw.
VERDICT: One of the best romantic comedies ever. It's the lead's chemistry that flows here - just not the pacing
