I don't really have much to say about this film except that this is one of the weaker remakes Disney has put out so far. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This Live Action Remake follows closely with the original Disney Classic beat for beat, bar a few unnecessary changes. It is a story about love between two dogs, one blessed with a loving family, except for a hateful aunt, and one who's lived his life as a stray. There isn't much to say as it is like the original. The issues that lie with this movie are non-sequitur character motivations and lip flapping CGI dog mouths that don't convey the same emotion as the original due to the hyper-realism Disney is going with nowadays. As this was a big issue with Lion King with realistic animals speaking human words. Speaking of scenes that don't make sense, as there was the compulsive dog catcher showing up at night to the couples home in the middle of a thunderstorm because he heard barking... He may have been met with less kind words in reality by the home owners. All in all. This is Lady and the Tramp... Much like Lady and the Tramp. At least the Spaghetti scene was cute.. Expand

I love dogs and this was cute but like all Disney live action remakes, this one does not contribute to anything either.

I clearly see why they kept this one for Disney+. In cinemas it would have failed at the box office. At least for the

It was cute and enjoyable but some things are better back in the day and this in some part feels old but I still think somethings should have been changed or removed entirely but still watch this over the original if you want to decide witch one

Oh no. I hate how well this worked on me. Granted, between my own pup looking eerily similar to Tramp and the fact that we traveled to Savannah the week before watching this, I am a bit biased. Granted, between my own pup looking eerily similar to Tramp and the fact that we traveled to Savannah the week before watching this, I am a bit biased. While I'm on the animation, it was a little wonky with Lady's face at first, but it seemed to improve as the movie went on (or I just got used to it). It also might have been that it looked better when they didn't stick her tongue out after every line, which they did in her first speaking scene. The other dogs looked fine throughout...except when they were doing stunts. I obviously don't want real dogs doing stunts, but it looked pretty bad in some. Especially when they faked any dog running. There's something they just couldn't get right with that. I also wasn't fond of the baby-talking puppies or the overly auto-tuned singing. All that said, the core story works, the replacement for the siamese cat song was great, and even if you haven't JUST been to Savannah, the setting is beautiful. So all that in mind, I enjoyed this movie far, FAR more than I expected to. It turns out giving dogs the live action treatment worked much better on me than it did when Disney did the same thing with warthogs and baboons. Big surprise, I know. A few hiccups keep it from surpassing the original, but this is still a great watch for fans of the original story, Savannah, or just DOGS. Expand
