It was neither good nor bad. I loved watching it for it's humor, but the action became kind of too much. This, I feel, is a problem with most of Justice League movies. Still decent. (y)

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie has it flaws but some good points too. Overall I enjoyed it.
Feels like they tried to sprinkle some Marvel on it with the forced humor instead of doing their own thing.
The best scene of the film was when Superman takes on the Justice league. They should have expanded on that.
They history scene with the Olympians and everyone else taking on Steppenwolf was very cool. Sadly, it only lasted about 20 seconds or whatever. Far far to brief!!

I went in expecting it to really suck, but it wasn't that bad.

Don't get me wrong, it is nothing compared to Wonder Woman, or any of the Marvel things that are happening, but I do have to say it managed to be better than Batman v Superman.

Don't get me wrong, it is nothing compared to Wonder Woman, or any of the Marvel things that are happening, but I do have to say it managed to be better than Batman v Superman.

Now, remember that I also kind of liked (but kind of didn't) Suicide Squad so my taste is not the normal movie critic.

I liked the new characters, Flash and Cyborg seemed interesting, and both had a good feel. I loved the new take on the Flash, and his immediately volunteering to join sort of underscored his whole character. Meanwhile Cyborg was brooding in the beginning but became fairly mellow by the end

The movie itself felt the same dark dark dark grim dark of BvS in places, then in other places it felt less serious about itself and was able to be watched easier. I think this is where you seek Zack Snyder at first, and Joss Whedon in the others.

What this movie did show me was that Zack Snyder shouldn't be directing any of these. I am definitely for a dark comic book universe, but Patty Jenkins proved DC doesn't have to be dark with Wonder Woman, and Joss lightened up Justice League enough that it shows Zack's view isn't beneficial for the universe.

Now, there are huge holes in the movie you could drive a semi-truck through, but overall it was worth it and I would see any subsequent movies as well.

The good: The chemistry with the characters is there, even Superman. The less serious tone really benefitted the movie as well.

The bad: So many plot holes, acting issues and most importantly showing that Zack Snyder should not be directing these movies.

Flash was the tiny bit of comic relief. The brooding Batman and Cyborg are so annoying. This film is very similar in plot to Avengers: Infinity War (bad guy wants to destroy/rule the world, so all the superheroes band together to fight him) but Avengers was much more entertaining and fun with better characters, a better script and better paced. This doesn't even come close to the original Batman, Superman and Dark Knight movies. I loved Wonder Woman and enjoyed Suicide Squad but not BvsS or this one. Disappointing In My Humble Opinion. But Justice League is far from being a bad movie. It's perfectly serviceable for what it is, and it's certainly a step in the right direction for DC comics in terms of characters and tone.

The story isn't anything special. It's pretty much the same thing as Marvel's The Avengers, which also had a paper-thin plot: otherworldly entity seeks to conquer Earth and rule its people and can only do so by obtaining a cube-shaped device that has unclear power to offer whomever possesses it. The Avengers made this concept work by having fun with its own simplicity, and Justice League makes it work almost as well by the same means.

This movie doesn't take itself too seriously, and that's something that DC comics films have struggled with in the past. Justice League continues the trend set by Wonder Woman and is a much more light-hearted experience than we're used to having with these characters. There's a lot of humor injected into the dialogue and a lot of the banter between the characters surprisingly works really well! I found myself chuckling quite frequently as these super-powered beings (The Flash being the strongest comedically) brought some whimsical humanity to the group of Gods among us.

The other main aspect of Justice League that works is the action. As is to be expected from big-budget blockbusters, it's on-point. It's exciting, it's fast-paced, and it delivers exactly what people who see this movie would expect.

That being said, the dialogue does suffer from more than its share of cheesy moments (which can be a forgivable flaw in a superhero film) and the CGI--though mostly very strong--does show its weaknesses in quite a few of the more bloated action sequences. Above all this, the most unfortunate flaw that the movie has is that it's too short. The studio mandated that the film be cut to under two hours (the result is a runtime of 1:59:59), and it shows. The characters still need to have their backstories fleshed out to a significantly greater degree but there just wasn't enough time allowed for it! I would love to see a director's cut of Justice League that includes 30-40 extra minutes of character development. It's a very rushed movie and it ends leaving audiences wanting more.

Justice League is fine. It's an enjoyable, disposable superhero flick that unfortunately wastes much of its potential due to its condensed runtime that doesn't allow it to grow as large as its ambitions.

Strong enemy it the first justice league movie even that unite all the world(amazon, atlantis.human and gods) can defat the enemy but the this time only six super hero can defat easily.I think this is the biggest reason that makes the movie ugly bad scenario
We watched the battle scenes decorated with visual effects of super heroes that we know for 2 hours.in fact, you could get a super movie from six great superheroes.

The film ends up becoming a kind of Frankenstein, with several ideas of different people gathered, that could even work if developed or rethought in the long term. And even when it tries to extract the best of it, the result ends up falling far short of the expected. Despite the better reception of the critic, the film is more fragile than the much-criticized Batman vs. Superman. Expand

Is Justice League the Holy Grail of DC movies that we've been craving? No. Is it better than Wonder Woman? No. Is it terrible? NO. Is it good? YES. Justice League is a very flawed, but very fun and entertaining movie. If you are a DC or comicIs Justice League the Holy Grail of DC movies that we've been craving? No. Is it better than Wonder Woman? No. Is it terrible? NO. Is it good? YES. Justice League is a very flawed, but very fun and entertaining movie. If you are a DC or comic book fan, you will have a smile on your face the whole time, guarantee. Everyone in the movie gives their A-Game: Ben Affleck once again nails Batman, Gal Gadot is amazing as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher was surprisingly good as Cyborg, Jason Momoa was awesome as Aquaman, Ezra Miller has made the Flash his own and is good in his role. Even the side characters give their A-Game, with J.K. Simmons playing Commissioner Gordon, Amy Adams as Lois, Diane Lane as Martha, etc. Henry Cavill makes a great return, BUT there is something about him that will definitely be noticeable, as the CG for his mustache is sometimes hilariously bad. And thus we get into the negatives of the film, and there are plenty. The pacing for the most part, is offcentered. Everything feels rushed as we snap from character to character from place to place, it's hard to feel connected when you barely have enough to process what the hell just happened. It does feel as though large chunks of the movie were cut and placed on the sidelines, no doubt because WB wanted a movie under 2 hours. The CG sometimes can be pretty bad, the mustachegate is one clear example, and might take you out of the experience. The villain is also pretty weak, as we don't spend enough time with him to really care about his motives. Also, becauseof this rushed pacing, moments happen in the film that should be cause for applause, but in the end feels a bit unwelcomed and weird. But do these negatives detract from the film as a whole? Yes, but only slightly, as the positives are able to outway most of the negatives. The action is fun, exciting, and full on amazing to watch unfold on screen. The character interactions are also perfect and are exactly what you would expect from a screenwriter of likes of Joss Whedon. Also...DANNY ELFMAN should be commemorated for his work on Justice League as his score is able to fit things from old DC and new DC while also making it his own. But then again, that's a fanboy perspective. The fact is, this movie is what happens when you don't know where you're going in the end. I would have loved to have seen what Zack Snyder would have produced, but I guess we'll never know...and that's really disappointing. Because after all the release material that has been shown, disappointment is really all you can feel...in the end. Expand

Instead it continues on with the flaws that plagued the previous two Snyder films and Suicide Squad while adding it's own to the mix. It's an odd amalgam of sci-fi and fantasy that doesn't really feel like a comic book movie. The plot is weak, rushed, and jumbled. Steppenwolf is probably the dullest supervillain to hit the big-screen thus far. Even when the writing has fallen flat, Snyder films have at least always been good looking. None of that visual panache is on display here though. It's all obvious green screens and bad CGI. Something that is probably due to it being the product of two directors.

While only receiving only a screenwriting credit, Joss Whedon had his fair share of directorial duties when hired to finish up post-production following Snyder's exit as the result of a family loss. His presence can be felt throughout. He is most likely responsible for much of the humor in this film. Most of which comes from Ezra Miller. It's of the same style of the two Avengers films and plays well off of each individual character's traits and their dynamic as a team. While each individual hero is great on their own, they never really come together to form a cohesive unit. Flash, Wonder Woman, and Cyborg are the only ones who really feel like they belong in the Justice League. Batman is wildly out place and Aquaman doesn't contribute anything. Princess Diana and the heir to the Atlantean throne got nerfed to make room for Superman to save the day. Whose return by the way is incredibly anticlimactic and makes everybody else onscreen feel inconsequential. Henry Cavill's performance is pretty good though, despite feeling different from his portrayal in the previous two movies. It's truer to the comic books.

Everyone is going to have their own personal favorite member of the team after watching this. For me it's Ray Fisher. I liked his tragic tale of man who feels like he's losing himself to the machine. I'm excited for his standalone film although I hope they don't go too dark in tone. The movie provides a great jumping off point for all the newly introduced characters to have their own solo projects. While not doing much to stand out on it's own, Justice League at least opens the door for everyone to go their separate ways for a while. Which is probably the best move given that the only self-contained entry in the DCEU (Wonder Woman) is easily it's best. Warner Bros. still has a long way to go before they can make their cinematic universe truly do the comics justice, but the future does look a little brighter now that we've got this stumbling block out of the way.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. While a definite improvement over Batman v. Superman, that doesn't say much. Ezra Miller in the role of the Flash, and all of his interactions with other characters are perfect, but much of the rest of the film and the other characters fall a bit flat. Gal Gadot in the role of Wonder Woman is still as charismatic and inspiring to watch, but this being an ensemble movie, there aren't really that many moments where she shines. Cyborg and Aquaman are fine, but both of their character arcs, forced into becoming superheroes, seem more forced by way of the script than from any real in-movie reasoning. In addition, Cyborg's CGI-body makes it really difficult to believe that he's a real person. The team interactions are for the most part dull, and don't seem to build any sort of relations between these characters, which is going to make any real intra-team drama seem forced in future instalments. The villain of this movie is dull both in motivations as well as in appearances, and seem to continue the on-going struggle of making good comic-book villains. The dialogue seems like it was written by a 10-year-old, with overly dramatic and nonsensical lines in almost every conversation. My biggest gripe though, is that Superman is still entirely uninteresting as a character. By the dialogue of the other characters he's supposed to be more than just a symbol of Americanism, but what exactly is so human about him beats me. Overall, this movie takes a couple of baby-steps in the right direction, but they really need to work much harder with every aspect of their movies if DC intends to create a compelling cinematic universe to rival that of Marvel. Overall, this Expand

I was hyped for Batman V Superman since 2014 - constantly awaiting a trailer, or any sort of information. Once I saw it, I was awed - and in a good way. I loved the film. It was quality. The CGI was good for the most part, everything was downright GOOD for the most part. Batman was absolutely epic - the music was epic, the fights were epic. Everything was epic. Justice League fails to entertain on all parts. Its villain is a stiff and stupid "invader". I could end this whole review by saying that the film is very underwhelming and I wish Justice League 2 already came out. Superman is missing for more than two thirds of the film, and when he comes, it is good, but very underwhelming regardless. The music was terrible too, and I actually loved DC for the good music. Anyway long story short, very underwhelming and poorly done. Even though people hate BVS, I love it with all my heart. This film was very disappointing. 5/10 Expand

Jump from character profile to character profile and maybe fit some actual plot and intrigue in there. The antagonist and his cohorts are just throwaway fluff there to facilitate the construction of characters that can be spun in to more films later. It just screams the "we need to be where Marvel are right now but we don't have time to faff around with all the set up" that seems to define recent DC movies.

It feels like rather than having an interesting story to tell, that involves certain characters, they have characters they want to insert and just fill story in around the gaps. The script was terrible with such janky and awkward dialogue that I can only assume indicates either bad writing or a lot being left on the cutting room floor, maybe both. The CGI was off putting at best and Henry Cavill really didn't seem to want to be there.

Lastly there seems to be some vague attempt to insert bits of humour in to the film that are just really jarring. You have an irritating comic relief character that is overplayed, random cutaway segments to have jokes play out like sitting a Lasso of Truth and what I can only assume is an attempt at humour to segue away from difficult questions that don't want to spend time on "What was death like...? Itchy", thanks Henry, your Oscar is in the post.

I know there were huge difficulties in production, seemingly like all recent DC films with massive re-shoots and changes of direction, as well as tragic events or clashes for key people involved but that doesn't make it a good film or make me more disposed to like it. It's a very mediocre film from a production company and source material that has no real justification for being so.

"I tried"

To be fair, you did, but some things are not enough. Well here we are again folks. Just when 'Wonder Women' got things back on tracks for DC, now it takes a huge step back. With the many re shoots which somehow made the movie much worst. It's not a disaster like 'Suicide Squad', but with each failure of DC films makes 'Man of Steel' look pretty good by each flop.

Okay lets talk about the actual movie.

Jason Momoa and Ezra Miller were the two stand outs for me. All the scenes were pure gold and featured the most interesting action sequences in the film. While I didn't find any of his jokes or awkward personality that funny, I actually did like Ezra Miller as Flash. Jason Momoa as Aquaman was too awesome to handle. I'm looking forward to seeing both solo films in the late future.

Gal Gadot and Ben Affleck were pretty decent. Although, Affleck at times looked like he doesn't wants to be there. I don't know why Batman is cracking jokes all of the sudden. Almost like it's not the same character. Just leave the jokes to characters who aren't Batman to make fun of his seriousness or something. I don't know, maybe he's fed up with it all.

Oh and if the DCEU finally got something right, it's Superman. Bright colors on the suit and isn't a whiny hypocrite, like before.

Ray Fisher as Cyborg is sadly the weak link in the film. I didn't feel the character was used to his full potential. The actor or the writing isn't the blame here; editor is the blame, because I've heard he had a bigger role in the movie that got cut.

A lot of behind the scenes drama happened during the production of this movie and it shows. I'm fully aware of what happened with Zack Snyder daughter and why he had to leave the project before it was completed. And Joss Whedon stepping in to finish the final cut. I'm interested in seeing Snyder cut, to be honest. Because what we got still needs work on.

This is the least Snyder movie I've seen.

Here's the problem - This is the first time we've seen Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg on screen, which on it's own is crazy to think. I mean, this is Justice League. I repeat, JUSTICE LEAGUE. The dream team of the decade with DC mighty heroes coming together for the first time. How incredible is that? Remember how big "The Avengers" was and how it broke records. This and Star Wars should have been event movie of the year.

So what's the rush?

Even after seeing Justice League, I got nothing out of it. There was never that moment of excitement. No steaks, no emotion. Coming from a guy who isn't too familiar with comics, the film disappointed me. At least give some information or an introduction to the new members. You know, for me to care.

I'm sorry for bringing up Marvel and Avengers a lot, but it's hard not to. It's so obvious DC is trying so hard to catch up with Marvel, even the plot is similar.

Steppenwolf is a boring villain with by the books "I'm evil" motivations. What makes it worst is the terrible CGI on him and a faceless army he brings along for the heroes to fight. The visual effects itself looks awful and I still don't know who dose the effects for these movies.

The humor is so bad. Really force and trying too hard. The movie is edited to make room for audience to laugh. A shame it only slow the film down. You can tell everyone who worked on this were under pressure to make something for all audiences. The end result is a jumbled mess of a film with no real vision.

What's more sad is Danny Elfman's forgettable score. There's a scene involving Commissioner Gordon lighting up the Batman signal, and you see in his point of view of Batman himself looking down on him. At that moment you hear a familiar tune for a split second until it cuts off. At first I thought it was a re-use of Elfman's score. What I didn't know he did the freaking score.

Overall rating: Everything I said about 'MOS', I'll take back please.

I mean it doesn't even compare to standalone Batman movies that Nolan made, not even close. Also all battle scenes look the same, storyline is just simplistic as hell. Everybody knows that SUperman will come back in the movie and do everything in the end. Superman v Batman already was a bit prolonged and had many bad moments, but this is just not good enough. It's okay movie, but if they want to compare with Avengers, they have to be much better (I actually preferred DC, but after this, when it comes to movies, I start to think Marvel has the upper hand for sure these days) Expand

Wonder Woman, Flash, and Aquaman carry the rest of the characters, and it feels like an opportunity lost, as the fragmented storytelling, awful CGI, and unpolished cinematography detract from the storyline. The script has some fun moments, and the performances are solid, but this feels disconnected, with no sense of investment in the outcome. Continuing the tradition of taking itself far too seriously, there is no singular aspect that utterly ruins this, and it is fairly well paced, but overall it is a predictably mediocre experience. 4.83/10 Expand

Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Despite being a comic fan (DC & Marvel) who went into this film without any preconceived opinions, I was ultimately letdown. The comic book fan in me really wanted to root for this movie after the critical success of Wonder Woman and the disaster of Green Lantern. It seemed like DC was starting to trend in the right direction. However, that was not the case at all. The film critic in me despised the lack of character development, the terrible narrative and unrealized potential. This movie had great marketing and tremendous hype surrounding it, but the final product simply didn't deliver. Let's start with the narrative. This film had so many Macguffins (a plot device in the form of some goal, desired object, or other motivator that the protagonist pursues, often with little or no narrative explanation.) I lost count. The opening scene with Batman chasing a criminal only to be interrupted by lone Parademon and then having the criminal plainly state "must be from an alien invading army" Seriously? Aquaman being very hostile with Batman upon meeting him and then being a valued member of the team barely 20-30mins later? The Motherboxes (still don't know why they are called that) containing all this power and being on earth with no explanation. Steppenwolf (bad CGI aside) comes to collect these boxes with no explanation given other than wanting revenge for losing in his 1st attempt. There is never any mention of why he wants the boxes in the first place nor whom he works for. Next up is character development. There is no backstory for Cyborg whatsoever, he is introduced as the moody, loner who wants nothing to do with saving the world then jumps head first into the fight after meeting with Wonder Woman? Where is the character development? I distinctly remember there being flashback scenes in the trailer that were not in the movie at all. The only person on the team they actually gave us any real backstory and motivation for is the Flash. The battle scenes were perhaps the only bright spot in the film as they gave us a chance to see the team in action and built some chemistry between them. The flashback battle scene was particularly entertaining even if it was only meant to tease other popular DC characters (Green Lantern, Black Adam, etc...) Finally, the unrealized potential. This is perhaps the biggest flaw of the film and the entire DCEU. This film had the chance to jumpstart the entire DC film universe. It had a lot of things going for it: Beloved characters, Massive success of the Wonder Woman movie and ridiculous hype. Unfortunately all that meant nothing. The fact that they neglected to show, let alone mention Darkseid is appalling. That alone could have probably saved this film. Literally NO ONE is excited about Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor. I think many people saw this film for what it was, a poor attempt for DC to catch up to Marvel. DC should have tried to do their own thing. The way I see it, DC is suffering from an identity crisis. Their movies lack consistency in tone, narrative, direction and character development. The reason people love Marvel is because its consistent. The change in directors really hurt this movie, you could tell it was directed by two different people. There are times when it tries to be serious and the humor is so forced instead of natural. DC needs to identify itself so that it can break away from the Marvel comparisons. Expand

Since around 2011 I have been itching to see the movie where all my favourite superheroes assemble together to fight against a powerful and seemingly impossible to defeat enemy. 2018's Justice League brings along that excitement while simultaneously dragging the heavy weight of a boring and thinly spread story while managing to make some of DC's most fascinating and complex characters into nothing more than dull and uninteresting. The movie suffers greatly from poor pacing, never giving time for the characters to breathe and properly develop and interact with one another. When taking into account all these disappointing missteps, the movie sadly falls on the side of a movie much like Suicide Squad, except with more familiar universal characters. Another problem that I continue to see in these recent DC movies is the excessive use of CGI that ultimately doesn't provide anything near satisfying visuals, making it visually a complete mess and often times hard to watch. After watching Justice League it makes me wonder why these movies are even shot as live action movies as they seem to rarely be able to be capable of one more than one scene in a row without the use of CGI. Ultimately, this movie suffers most from a forgettable and practically nonexistent plot to keep viewers engaged. At this point I don't see how this generation of DC movies can recover from the massive hits they have taken and I believe that the universe needs to be rethought out and possibly try and again without the likes of Zack Synder and Ben Affleck. In a time of overly saturated superhero movie releases, it is important for movies like this to stand out among others, and in no way did this movie succeed in doing so. Hopefully DC can start to reinvent their movies in the future and not turn to stale story telling and one dimensional characters. Expand

If you love the comics and the DC animated films this is pretty much what you are going to get. No need to complicate anything here. Its a comic book or animated film come to life. If you are any kind of fan of comics or the cartoons you will enjoy this film. The humor is different than that of Thor Ragnarok. Not to say that films humor was bad, but its different. If you are worried that this film is too dark like some people were complaining about Batman vs Superman, Its not. The flash is the humor in this film and its rightfully so. Very entertaining, very fun, lots of easter eggs and fan service here. Stay through the entire credits. Honestly I think by now its obvious that the critics are either biased or tainted or both when it comes to super hero comic films. I think that they think the standard should be set by Marvel and any more that doesnt follow their formula is not good enough. Its seems obvious that most of the fan base enjoyed or enjoys this movie (just like with Batman vs Superman) and most critics either didnt or are so so about this movie. (POST EDIT) After watching infinity war I had to lower the score here to a 6 after rewatching. EDIT: After watching The Snyder Cut I had to lower the score again. While I enjoyed the theatrical cut, the sSnyder cut is 10X better. The Snyder cut had scenes that didnt need to be there but overall, it was a much better thought out movie that gives most of the characters their due. Expand

The story is choppy, the plot is once again murky, character development is paper thin and there is no real sense of urgency despite what is at stake. You feel almost nothing for the characters and really couldn't care less if they died.

Whatever is happening at DC, they really need to buck up or else, we will be seeing more disappointing "blockbusters" and quite frankly, a waste of talent, time and money. You have been warned.

Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

The Flash is the one that bring the energy into the movie. The story is a bit standard but you can see it misses some crucial elements. The friction between the individuals isn't very well exploited. And the motivation of the villain is somewhat generic. Some parts feels disconnected...and it sap the energy of the action and the character feelings. The soundtrack seems to be split in two. It wasn't very coherent. The FX in general were pretty good. The Flash and some Aquaman scenes were amazing. I give it a 65%. I hope we can see a longer version of this movie with more character interaction...After a second watch, I found the villain CGI absolutely horrible. The voice to animation was slow or out of sync, with very little expressions or way too much. Some CGI on Cyborg were pretty bad when he moved. The part where the heroes are coming together is way too short, and not convincing at all. And all the motivations and backstory of the main villain is a big joke...proof of that: the last end credit scene establish antagonists better then all the movie. A main villain that cost too much for dialogues scenes, isn't worth being in a movie. I downgrade the movie to 50%. All those bad decisions were taken from the start, no amount of humour or re shooting could have saved it. Still there is some good parts in the movie. Expand

Some okay action, chuckle-worthy moments, and the cast give it their best shot but at the end of the day, JL is crushingly average with some baffling creative choices.

I just had trouble caring about what was going on in the plot. It felt very choppy and rushed in the first 3/4 with bland exposition heavy dialogue. There are some moments of humanity througout (mostly from Cyborg and Wonder Woman) but they are few and far between.

I found Barry Allen annoying as hell and while Jason Momoa is charismatic as Aquaman, his character didn't really serve much purpose to the plot outside of being brute comic relief.

What is kinda weird is that Zack Snyder films are usually blessed with grade A visuals but JL was surprisingly weak in this department. Most of the action fails to excite and is un-inventive.

There are also plenty of shockingly artificial-looking CGI and green screen effects shots that looked like they needed another rendering pass.

Let's not even get into Henry Cavill's uncanny-valley stiff upper lip.

The villain Steppenwolf also looked terrible (in addition to just being a bland villain on the whole) and reminded me of the Enchantress' brother from Suicide Squad.

I didn't come out necessarily disliking JL, but given this is the first live-action rendition of the first superhero team, this should have been so much more better and eventful.

Instead it's draggy, anti-climactic and forgettable.

It suffers from as has a reasonably decent first third, then falls flat for too long, before the last act and the 'big bad' battle. This along with some oddities, such as Flashs slow no run looking odd, Some odd looks on Superman between shots (understand this may have been re-shoots and face 'touching up in post) and some what should have been breat taking shots looking far too green screen. This may have suffered from previous negative reviews of the Superman vs Batman runtime, pushing this into under two hours bracket, hence the last act feeling rushed.

I am not a marvel fanboy to talk about myself, and I will only comment on it as a movie theater. As we all know, Marvel has in itself split up the spider man fantasy quartet and x men's cinema rights (including HULK) to different companies. At that time there was no cinematic universe logic in the Marvel universe and solo films in different superheroes in 2008, which started with the Iron Man, were taken out one after the other, and well-evolving solo films are of course debatable, but once the characters are known, the Avengers film he had to go to his house to take the audience from the movie theater. When Avengers film was released, a cinematic universe project in DC had not yet passed by, and there was no such planet. Only the first Avengers Filmin's box office success After taking the interest of the Warner Bros studios, we have to get a share of this cake. I can say that Zack Snyder is one of the rare directors who can produce film comics but I would like to point out that I can not give him a very good score when he enters the screenplay and cgi into it. If you are going to film a movie and you make a statement like this movie for a comic book lover, then the general spectator will also find yourself the right to set up the phrase 'If it is possible to tell this in the trailers go to your own private halls'. Placing the vast majority of the comic strips in the cinema is a big risk. Whereas Batman could do this while filming the film, and he could project a very good comic strip into cinema. However, it is a cinematic director, and he has come closer to himself in a different way and has shown that characters are much more realistic to appeal to the general audiences of Filmin, and that character development can be a Batman in the midst of all of us, explaining it with Batman Begins. In doing so, he successfully overcame it with successful cast selections before he filled the film with cgi. If my DC characters are not superhero but Spiderman, I can go and do my profession because I do not have to dominate its nature, but if it is not for Tony Stark this is not a valid iron man, it will become a weapons smuggler and a weapons baron that will continue to sell weapons to states, You can not tell Wonder woman and Superman that you are interested in historical artifacts, and you can not say that you work as a journalist on the farm because your mother is born to God's power and dominance. DC Unfortunate enough to catch up with the Marvel cinematic universe, with its current strategy, it is risking the next films to come out of this insufficient screenplay. For the promotion of characters, solo films are very late and continue to worsen. It goes without saying that going to this village is of course possible, but for this, the cinema scenario is very important for the future. Expand

The cinematic "Male Gaze" was clear. After Wonder Woman, how the directors portrayed her was very upsetting. Ezra Miller as the Flash was wonderful, a well created character of comedy and traditional light hearted superheroes. Rushed storytelling, rushed character development, rushed sequences, rushed rushed rushed. Not sure what happened here, it was nice they kept the run time to 2 hours but at what cost. The CGI looked terrible again, which is the hallmark of these DC movies, I'm not sure how they are missing that. The fast motion to slow motion to fast motion sequences are tired, leave them to Michael Bay, find a new schtick. Steppenwolf may be the absolute low of this movie, every aspect was terrible. The Flash was a bright spot but nearly ruined by second-rate CGI. The entire color tone and CGI effects of these movies are unappealing, someone at Warners Bros needs to step up and stop being a yes man. If you want to copy something then copy the scheme from Watchmen or Sin City, don't copy Transformers and the weak Ninja Turtles movies. All that being said, I think this crew of actors works well for these parts. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Honestly, the movie is super mediocre and flawed.
It's so predictable it really is a bore watching.
Fight scenes are really slow and really bare bones and i struggle to remember anything worthwhile from the movie. If you want to watch a great Justice League movie there are animated movies that hit the same notes as this movie but just a thousand times better.

Spoilers: The start of the movie is just around 50 minutes of things we know will happen,
People telling their backstory, pretend they might not join the team when we know they will in the end, the team falling out and reunion stronger than ever.
Small jokes here and there that fall flat. The plot doesn't really start moving until
superman gets revived, everyone saw that coming and of course he is evil at the start because of they needed more fights.

The new guy Wolfman is "I WANT TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD" evil and has no depth.
Every fight scene with him is so boring because you know the characters have plot armor and will never get seriously hurt by him.
He really feels like a bad guys henchmen nothing more or less.
If you haven't seen this movie just wait until its on netflix or is on TV.

Strip the floor to install new hardwood only to find out there are cracks in the foundation. Try to add new shingles to the roof only to find out there are leaks. It's no secret this movie was stripped to its bare bones in an attempt to be remade over the reshoots period. While this movie still has its flaws, it's still incredibly fun. It won't push the needle in the superhero movie world but movies like this are why we go to the theater in the first place: mindless entertainment. Expand

While this movie is a step in the right direction it still doesn't quite reach it. The story is that Batman and Wonder Woman try to recruit a team to stop an evil threat that is coming. The first major problem about this movie is the short run time of 2 hours. It is poorly paced and the transitions and cut just seem odd. It feels like there were lot of missing scenes and it is very noticeable. The threat also isn't there and never do I feel like that there is anything at stake.

If there is a good point about this movie then it is the characters themselves. Let start with Batman who is played by Ben Affleck again. He still does a good job with him and since BvS he has regained trust in the world again and is a lot nicer now. However, his change in character sometimes just doesn't feel right such as the fact that he does a lot of jokes now which doesn't work for me. Batman should not be pulling jokes like this. Also his sudden love for Superman just doesn't make sense especially since he only met him for a few minutes in BvS and it was mostly them at conflict. Gal Gadot plays Wonder Woman and she also gives a great job. She is like the second leader of the team after Batman and I liked a certain part of the film where she talks about leading the team with Batman and it was a great conversation which gave her a bit more depth. Jason Momoa as Aquaman is decent but I feel like Aquaman doesn't do as much in the film as I would of liked. Heck he doesn't ever talk to fish or summon sharks at all in the whole movie which is a huge disappointment. Ray Fisher as Cyborg is pretty good but like Aquaman it doesn't feel like he is given enough things to do in the movie and most of the time it feels he is only there to move the plot. Cyborg needed more scenes and this is where it feels like he was let down. Not enough cool moments from Cyborg. Ezra Miller as Flash was great as he was charismatic and had great personality. The flash was definitely the comic relief of the movie but it felt natural and it worked. Whenever he was in the speed force it was cool and I liked that they done it differently from Quicksilver of X men. Henry Cavill returns as Superman and this is a much better Superman, a more hopeful Superman. The character interaction between the team were great such as Cyborg and Flash as the "accidents" , Batman and Wonder woman as the leaders, Batman and Aquaman with their banter and so on. There is a conflict in the group but it never really amounts to anything and it eventually just gets brush over which was hugely disappointing as they become a team almost instantly and it didn't feel natural at all. The villain Steppenwolf is absolute garbage. He is just a CGI blob with "I want to destroy the world just because!" mindset. Not much to say about him. JK Simmons is the new person to play Co missioner Gordon but there isn't much to say about him as he is barely even in the movie which is such a shame as I would've liked to seen more of him. There are also returning characters such as "MARTHA" played by Diane lane and Alfred played by Jeremy Irons and Lois Lane played by Amy Adams but there isn't much to say about them as they barely play a part in this movie.

There are a couple of action scenes and in the beginning of the movie there is a fight between Batman and a parademon but it looks awful with its awkward camera shot and transition. Additionally, the last fight in this movie is just a bloated CGI fest we seen in BvS and Suicide Squad. Though there are two action scenes in the middle with the first being the fight in Gotham Harbour which is all right to say the least. Though the second one is honestly really exciting to watch. For a movie with such a huge budget, it is honestly surprising how awful the CGI is sometimes especially with Steppenwolf who looks lame and never for a moment do I ever feel like he is there. The music score is done by Danny Elfman who done the Tim Burton Batman theme. The score does what it needs to do but never more. He also at points reuse his own Batman theme and John Williams Superman theme which is a nice touch. Still, I would have preferred Junkie XL as their theme had a lot more impact.

The movie doesn't feel consistent which is probably due to the short runtime and the issues behind the scene such as the change in director from Zack to Whedon due to Zack losing his daughter. The change in music composer and the reshoots causing Henry Cavill mouth to be CGI due to him not allowed to shave of his moustache. The movie is very generic and you're not really going to remember that much but it has its moments and you gonna have a little bit of enjoyment with this movie.

But you can fell its trying to hard to be like Marvel. The reasons why i still kind of Liked Batman v Superman even with its problems was its dark tone and awsome brutal fights. But in JL the tone is all over the Place the Movie got directed by Zack Synder the continued his or serious take on Superheros but than came Joss Whedon re-shot most of it and a Movie came out that made no one really happy. There are two directors who have an compleaty differences styles. You can really see what part are by Zack Synder and what parts are Re-shots. With the inconsistency of its tone there also comes the cheesy dialogue what don't really work in the overall picture. Because of the massive re-shots there was no really time to polish the CGI. The CGI is mediocre at Best. Of course the Story dosnt also isnt very interesting, but it could have been if the tone would be more consistent. JL also has one of the worsted villain i have ever seen in an Movie to date. He isn't even a real Character just some CGI dude to fight. Think of Man of Steel and Batman v Superman whatever you want but those Movies were way better than this one. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Back when I saw this movie, I was really confused. Most of the logic in the film made no sense:

1. Superman is better than the entire Justice League combined. Then why does Justice League even exist when Superman can do everything alone, this film will never explain.

2. Superman is equally fast, if not faster, than Flash. Then why is Flash even a thing, this film will never explain.

3. Cyborg is good enough to be in Justice League, but Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter don't even exist. Why, this film will never explain.

4. Steppenwolf's army is so weak, even the warriors of Amazon and Atlantic people can beat the hell out of them. Then how are they even a threat, this film will never explain.

5. Superman blows out of his coffin because of which his shirt and coat get burnt away, but his pants are still on, showing him shirtless. Will the same thing happen with Wonder Woman also, this film will never explain.

And most importantly,

6. HOW ON EARTH (literally) IS AQUAMAN FIGHTING OUTSIDE WATER, AND THAT TOO WITH SUCH PERFECTION!?!?!

The only good scene in this whole film was when Superman was fighting with Flash in slow motion (or rather Flash was just trying to run away from Superman) for 30 seconds. But you can just watch that scene on YouTube. And it will seem even more entertaining without any context.

But later on I learnt about how Warner Bros had brought in Joss Whedon to finish the movie while Zack Snyder had left for his daughter's death and that completely butchered the movie. And after having watched the Snyder Cut I realised this movie was even worse than what I remembered. Although I don't hate Joss Whedon the way all these toxic Snyder stans do, he did a pretty terrible work here. He literally had just one job - consult Snyder and ask what has to be done, and then add CGI to the rough cut.

I think I will rewatch this movie one more time sometime in the future, when I have nothing better to do. Then I may even reconsider adding some more points in this review that I may have forgotten to write now.

I hoped that it would echo a new approach for DC superhero movies. Alas, it did not. The DC animated films are very good. Their movies, except Wonder Woman are bad. "Superman" and "Batman vs. Superman" were terrible, overwrought and too long. So is "Justice League". How could Wonder Woman be so good a few months ago? The answer is: with better writing and a better director. The best parts of "Justice League" are snippy dialog between the heroes, dialogue I suspect that was added in by Joss Whedon, who was brought on to lighten up this dreadful mess. It takes far too long to get going. The villain is a completely unmemorable force of evil. The CGI is so over the top that it just looks silly at times. The only reason it gets a 4 are the humorous elements that humanize the characters and lighten the film. Marvel does this so much better than DC. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm a Zach Snyder fan; loved Man of Steel, Batman V Superman, Watchmen. I've also been reading comics for about 30 years and was eagerly anticipating this film. I think I'm going to stop watching movies in theaters after this. Steppenwolf is a decent enough villain, I didn't find Superman's return to be so contrived as some have mentioned, and I don't think Batman was as central to the movie as others have pointed out. And, to be fair, the Superman/Flash "who is faster" question was fun and done well. But the green screen effects are obvious, Aquaman really isn't that great of a character even after the hard-drinking-badass makeover, and it's hard to take the overall plot seriously when it's peppered with as much humor as it is. If you make a movie like this too serious, people complain that it's too dark. When you add humor to lighten it up, it feels like a live-action Super Friends episode. Maybe the genre is just played out at this point. The first Avengers movie showed the world how it's done, and even the subsequent Age of Ultron couldn't outdo it. I'm just kind bummed over Justice League. I think I'll start reading Dostoevsky or something. Expand

Not even sure where to begin... WB and Joss Whedon completely butchered Zacs vision and his movie. The re-shoots done by Whedon are NUMEROUS and very easy to spot, most of the touching scenes you get from the trailers are re-shot and changed dramatically, Whedon tries to add his **** one liners and quips to every scene possible as though he's directing another avengers flick.

The re-shoots and the horrendous CGI done to supermans face are just disturbing to say the least, and I don't know if Bens face was CGI'd to make him look fatter or what but his face in the trailers look slim and proper and in the actual movie it's like he's added a good few lbs, possibly because of re-shoots or maybe bad CGI who knows. but the worst of this is for Superman, he just looks weird in every scene.

I think what hurt the movie even worst than Whedons garbage re-shoots has got to be the moron at the head of WB, the CEO who forced them to cut 50mins worth of content, just like BvsS, if you watch the full cut it makes the movie far better and just imagine 50! mins worth of content being cut...
I'm hoping theres going to be a full cut released at some point and the **** at WB honor Zac at least that much, hoping to see the full film without Whedons and WB's meddling hands.
there's actually a petition on change.org that has reached 100k as of me writing this asking the studio to release the full Zac Snyder Justice League and not whatever the F this was.
So if you're one of the many who wants Zacs version head there and sign it...maybe it'll work.

Why won't DC get rid of Zack Snyder? Seriously, he's never had a box office success aside from the first 300 movie. Sucker Punch, Watchmen, 300 2, Batman v Superman, Man of Steel. All failures

A forgettable movie with some fun moments that does a messy attempt at bringing together the biggest heroes of DC. The heroes do not get much individual time but at least the plot makes some sense. Still better than previous DC movies.

They somehow made Steppenwolf look worse with more money and more time and now his voice doesn't sound like the actor that voiced him whatsoever, which is unfortunate. The movie spends a lot of time building up a better background for each character, and that's probably the best part. Ray Fisher actually seemed likeable this time around, whereas his character was the worst in Whedon's version. Ezra Miller is still a trash actor trying his best to be Tom Holland, which isn't someone I'd aspire to act like, at least not his version of Spiderman. They both lost their ADHD meds and took cocaine as a substitute. At least in the Flash's case it kind of makes sense, but it is still annoying and does not make him an endearing character. If you were looking for an amazing film, you're not going to find it in this cut. If you were looking for a slight improvement with much more background, you will find that. If you love really bad CGI, they swapped out awful Superman for awful Steppenwolf, so you won't be disappointed!

4/10

I'd like to add that I believe D.C.'s characters other than Batman do not make for good film making. They are often overpowered to the point that all of the tension is removed as you know they will never be harmed. Even Superman's death was always known to be a joke. D.C.'s villains have very similar issues as well and them losing always seems so contrived, pathetic, and campy, just as the final few blows in the fight with Steppenwolf were.

Here you have the premiere DC Universe film that brings all of its heroes (except Green Lantern) together for the first time. I remember when Marvel did this with the Avengers. That movie was just fantastic and I enjoyed seeing its box office rise to over $1B. Somehow Warner Bros. had the instruction kit still screwed it up.

Rather than my usual long winded poorly typed and edited ratning, here is a refined list of the reasons why I think Justice League was a total failure:

The film starts with half a dozen backstories all shoehorned together because we only have origin movies for two of the characters.

Batman is puffy faced, wears a suit that he can hardly move in, and still uses guns like his parents getting killed by one was no big thing.

Obvious green screen. Obvious CGI. Every scene with Superman is dominated by his upper lip.

Half the fight scenes are in giant cylinders. If there is a theme for this movie, it is cylinders.

The Flash is not very funny in this movie. He only seems funny because the rest of the movie is so terrible. His costume is awful.

The conflict among the heroes is completely forced and artificial. Clearly they wanted the Avengers vibe of "some assembly required". Clearly they did not understand how that worked. The dialogue. An examplary line from the movie: Batman says to Superman, "I don't not like you". The movie killed interest in these characters. No one is going to see a heavy metal, hard drinking Aquaman solo movie. No one is interested in a lifeless Cyborg movie. Could anyone really withstand two hours of this Flash saying stupid crap? There is no way puffy faced murder happy Batman will ever top The Dark Knight. Even Wonder Woman and Superman, the only heroes with solo movies, are tainted by this train wreck. Any sequels for them would have to be billed as "not starring other members of the Justice League".

This film was just dull. I didn't care what happened to these characters, the bad guy was boring and really forgettable, the CG was awful for the majority of the film, the action scenes were pretty bland and had nothing interesting going on.

The Justice League animated series gave more depth, emotion and motivation to the same characters then this movie could ever hope of matching or even surpassing.

This whole DC universe has been a real let down. Instead of rushing these films to compete with Marvel, they should have given a lot more time and care to plan everything out. It's not fleshed out enough and it doesn't hold a candle to the MCU.
