It pains me to say it, but I was bored...I wanted it to be over and thats something I never thought I would feel watching a Jurassic Park/World movie. What happened here? I found this very sad because this is currently the only series thatIt pains me to say it, but I was bored...I wanted it to be over and thats something I never thought I would feel watching a Jurassic Park/World movie. What happened here? I found this very sad because this is currently the only series that portrays Dinosaurs in a somewhat of a realistic manner and they have managed to screw it up.

The original Jurassic Park was and still is, such a wonderful piece of entertainment because their creators understood that the hook of Dinosaurs is the fact that we know that they were real, they existed, they were animals on earth. And thus, they portrayed them as realistic as possible, like animals suddenly brought back from extinction. The fact that they looked and acted so real, made as all look at them in awe just like the characters in the movie were looking at them. That was the hook, and it was all tied up nicely with a simple story that would explain to us logically how it all came to be with characters that would complement all the questions with their own curiosity.

But now, Dinosaurs are taken from granted, so much so, that they are not even the main threat of the plot. I will say this...Despite liking the first Jurassic World, the moment they started to portray the Dinosaurs as characters (Like Blue the raptor), the moment they started to screw everything up. Like I said, this were animals and the interesting thing about them is that they were huge and probably dangerous given all their teeth...but when they start to characterize them or portray them as monsters (God, I hated those laser beam focused raptors) the moment you take away the sense of awe and respect that such creatures emanate.

This is a movie that is more focused on the action and the big set pieces than anything else and it looses all direction. Getting to see the old cast was fun and they do everything admirably well, but the fact that they are here and this turned out to be such a derailment from the original movie makes me feel kind of disgusted.

We all know that making Jurassic sequels is not easy, and that capturing the magic of the original is nearly impossible given that, that was the first one to ever show us the creatures with such detail...but this was not the way to go.

I could probably write more and more paragraphs detailing why the movie is such a miss, given how the story is incredibly contrived, some characters are awful stupid and basic (the main villain), some of the performances are not very good and the complete lack of tension within it despite being a movie where Dinosaurs try to eat people - yet, the biggest point I wanted to make was the complete lack of understanding of what made the original so compelling. It was, because it made us think and question "what if, what if this creatures really came back, what would that feel like?"...this movie doesn't do that, in fact Jurassic movies have long gone from trying to do that, and this is the one movie where it finally hit me to a point where I was completely disconnected from it. I saw it. I didn't hate my life while watching it. I will never ever watch it again, even if it's free. I don't want any of this movie ever filling my brain again.

I really tried to like Dominion but it fell flat on its face. After 45 minutes I was already hoping it would be over soon. Dominion is a far cry from the Jurassic Parks that many of us grew up with. Dominion is a far cry from the Jurassic Parks that many of us grew up with. Owen and Claire’s relationship is awkward at best and Alan and Ellie’s relationship felt like fan service gone wrong. Dominion focuses on in-your-face action more than it’s predecessors which makes it feel more like a generic action movie. Unfortunately the subtle visuals and sounds used to create moments of dread in past films is missing completely. The massive dinosaur fights even felt identical to fights from the past 5 films.

Also, what’s up with everyone being able to hold off dinosaurs by holding up their hand? Owen was only able to do this with the raptor he raised from birth. It makes no sense that any other characters can suddenly make the dinosaurs obey them. This choice removes any sense of risk and danger as we know the protagonists can use this magic hand trick to deal with most smaller dinos. At one point we see a Velociraptor show up (one of the most terrifying creatures from past film) and I didn’t even feel worried for our protagonist because they can all take dinosaurs now. The only reason I’m not rating this lower is because the short scenes showing mosques adapting to our world were really interesting.

It’s truly disappointing to see so much wasted potential with the combination of the new and old cast.… Expand

Our protags were never, ever in any danger when their threats are simply written to be cartoonishly impotent. I mean a plane crash at 200-mph into snow/ice and our protags have no broken bones, no concussions, no scrapes or scratches even! Totally written by and for 10 year olds. And the ridiculous amount of close-ups on Bryce D H, is the director in love with her or what?! Jeebus. Anyway, such a disappointingly wasted opportunity.… Expand

I was pleasantly surprised. Its not a good movie. Its also not the worst one either. So go low expectations? The good? Most of the acting. Fun seeing high quality interesting CG dinosaurs. To the point I believe no-one attached to the script has even kept pets. Gone are the days of researching how animals behave and basing dinosaur behavior and scenes on that. In this film most of the dinosaurs acted like that third henchman in TV fight scenes. The one that stands back and looks menacing until it is their turn to one on one fight the hero. Because the plot says so. All the good guys had too much plot armor. Surviving a definitely fatal plane crash. Holding their hands up at times got dinosaurs (untrained) to back off. Not bite that off. The dinosaurs also had a sort of plot armor. The kind often offered to women in action films. Hero can't kill/maim dinosaur. Only a bad guy or other dinosaur is allowed to do that. Sure dinosaurs eats humans and this one is trying to eat our hero. But with all the plot armor neither side is taking damage from the fight. So many times! It took a lot of the excitement out of the film. Lead to several bizarre and less believable exchanges. There was fun and some nostalgia to be had. But not good overall.… Expand

Referencing is one thing, copy and pasting, well that is JJ Abrams patented, and his lawyers will probably be in touch. The real downfall is with the poor CGI that had to be covered by CGI environmental effects. This leaves you with a headache as you try to make out the dinos and makes you wonder what they were thinking? 5.5/10… Expand

I was looking forward to this film as it had a good idea but it was a snooze fest and very predictable. Not much to highlight most likely the worst sequel of the new Jurassic movies.

JW Dominion was a bad exercise in nostalgia. The story is derivative of every other Jurrassic movie. You get your Brontosaur moment, the baby dino cute moment, the genetic manipulation, the 3 actors, the laughable Tyro ending fight, the TyroJW Dominion was a bad exercise in nostalgia. The story is derivative of every other Jurrassic movie. You get your Brontosaur moment, the baby dino cute moment, the genetic manipulation, the 3 actors, the laughable Tyro ending fight, the Tyro at the cinema, the spitter dyno, the Blue guy. Add to the mix an extraordinary bland Tim Cook villain, with not really poachers, not really kidnappers, not really terrorist, not really a scientist, not really a bad guy, not really a smuggler. You see a pattern here ? Apart this insulting story, the CGI are good. The action is acceptable but you also get a very slow beginning (almost 50 minutes of it). The music was recycled. The sounds didn't appeal to me and some were just plainly bad (dinosaur sounds). The acting was ok, maybe the redeeming factor, even with the villains disaster. I give the movie a 35%. And I think I should stop writing about it for ma own well being.… Expand

One thing that the Jurassic World franchise has done better and better is the visuals. Jurassic World Dominion has no doubt the best visuals and cinematography of all the films so far. There are some pretty great shots of dinosaurs without aOne thing that the Jurassic World franchise has done better and better is the visuals. Jurassic World Dominion has no doubt the best visuals and cinematography of all the films so far. There are some pretty great shots of dinosaurs without a doubt. There are also some pretty fun action sequences. For example, in Malta where dinosaurs are chasing Chris Pratt and Bryce throughout the city. The part in Malta also explores the black market of Dinosaurs and that was pretty interesting. One pretty annoying issue with the Jurassic World franchise is the lack of animatronics but Dominion uses a lot of animatronics. I appreciated it as it made the Dinosaurs feel a bit more real when they were being interacted with.

My biggest reason for watching was the OG cast and it was great seeing all of them together again. Laura Dern and Sam Neill are great together as Ellie Satler and Alan Grant respectively. Both of them don't phone it in and it feels like the same characters we last saw 21 years ago. My favourite is Jeff Goldblum as Ian Malcolm and he just steals every scene he is in. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard also return and they are fine. The movie introduces some new characters and one of them is Kayla played by DeWanda Wise. DeWanda is great and a real standout in the film thanks to her charismatic performance. Kayla ends up being a fun character to watch thanks to her coolness and natural reaction to all the craziness happening. Unfortunately, the rest of the movie is very difficult to like. My biggest annoyance is the plot. There are two plot lines, one with Chris Pratt involving a kidnapping of Maisie (the clone daughter from the previous film) and another with the OG cast which just features them snooping around a big corporation. One of the plotlines is more exciting and interesting while also resulting in thrilling dinosaur action. The OG cast plotline is just so boring, goofy and just dumb. It's a shame that the OG cast was done dirty like that. The movie feels like two different movies shoved into one leading to two different stories with different tones. The main story also features this plot device concerning locusts and it's just really stupid. The movie also features a sort of new human villain in Dodgson played by Campbell Scott. I say sort of new because he is technically playing the same character that was briefly in the first Jurassic Park film albeit it's a different actor now. He is just a very underwhelming villain. He is just not that interesting or threatening. They also have a new dinosaur villain in the Giganotosaurus and it also sucks. It barely has any screen time and is not even as scary as any of the previous dinosaur villains. There is also another new character introduced called Ramsay played by Mamoudou Athie who I think does a good job in the role. What makes his character is his supposed relationship with Dodgson which is mentioned a couple of times. However, it is barely explored yet for some reason is put into the film like it is an emotional or important element and it was just baffling.

Maisie returns from the previous film and has become incredibly unlikeable. I'm not a big fan of bratty kid characters, especially ones that cause the deaths of dozens of innocent people. Her character is written poorly and I do think the actress gives a pretty weak performance which doesn't help. The movie is also way too long with its runtime being 146 minutes. A majority of the runtime is just boring human stuff with maybe 15-20 minutes of some dinosaur stuff. The original Jurassic Park cast and the new Jurassic World cast don't even meet until the final act. Once they meet, it feels very anti-climatic and unnatural, it just sort of happens. I'm gutted that the movie wastes an interesting idea in exploring the consequences of dinosaurs being released into the world and how the world deals with it. Instead, this idea is just brushed over within the first 5 minutes. The film doesn't do anything original and just does dinosaurs on an island again! The movie doesn't even spend time dealing with the message that the film starts with which is can humans and dinosaurs coexist? The film just ends with this magically being answered and resolved with no explanation how?

Overall, what a massive disappointment. While I didn't particularly enjoy Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018), the movie ends on a fascinating note that could've made for an amazing 3rd film. Regrettably, Jurassic World Dominion ends up being more interested in being a cheap, cheesy, B movie action thrill and even then it doesn't do that great either. I'm devastated that the so-called Avengers of the Jurassic franchise is just a very mediocre and underwhelming dinosaur movie. I ended up feeling like it was time for this franchise to go extinct. As Ian once said, "that's one big pile of s#*%".… Expand

The times someone is saved at the last second it's way too much, boring, too long movie, CGI is good but thats it. Plot points leading nowhere and too many nostalgia pandering, references are nice, but this is way too much (even the shave spray can for hiding stolen DNA is here lol !? it was lost in mud in the first movie), you have to turn you brain off, disappointing. Was nice to see the original cast, but the story is just lacking...

I wanted to like this movie so much but it was just... bad. I walked out.

Overall I don't think it was any of the actors faults, script was just ass and movie was badly directed.

I made it about 3 minutes into the film before I absolutely had to shut it off. Not only does nothing in the intro make any sense at all, but it doesn't even coincide with the ending of the last film.

- Like 12 dinosaurs ran off from the mansion, not hundreds, not even half that. Do writers even understand how animal populations work? Fictional or not, if you lack enough breedable male or females in a species- they die off! You can't reproduce from a handful of dinosaurs, they'd be inbreeding a few generations later.
- Literally no one on the planet would just let Dinosaurs somehow leave the mainland of one continent. Its completely ridiculous. How did the Dinosaurs spread from Asia to Australia? Did they build a boat? Its atrociously stupid writing.
- Who in their right mind would just "live with" the dinosaurs as if they weren't a constant threat to civilian populations? They mention some off-the-cuff line about "most" of the predators being caught, but that doesn't mean huge animals wouldn't disrupt highways, public transportation, or worse- destroy the environment for other animals, causing numerous other problems that would require intervention.

If Dinosaurs just accidently "oopsy whoopsy" existed and ran amok then the military would totally hunt them down. Remember what happened whenever a large Elephant escaped a circus? Yeah, its like that only with more teeth and higher caliber bullets. Worst Jurassic park movie I've ever seen in my life and that is saying A LOT after sitting through "Lost world." Glad I didn't pay a dime to see the last two.… Expand

Oh boy, this entry in the series is not good. It looks absolutely amazing, I have never seen so detailed creature effects, the landscapes are stunning, the cinematography is extremely good, the sound effects are awesome. But that is just theOh boy, this entry in the series is not good. Predictable everything, with more of the same brainwashing woke (all bad characters are white; blacks are good and smart scientists, top pilots, CIA agents, etc.). Perhaps watchable for dinosaur action, though I couldn't finish it.

Yikes, this was hard to watch. The original Jurrasic Park was a bunch of really well-defined characters that we learned to care about being stuck in a horrible situation. Without a protagonist or moment in the story where I could get to know and like the characters, it's really hard to give a %#$@ if someone is about to die. When I walked out of the theater I said it was like Star Wars Episode 1 was made for Jurrasic Park, that bad. There were some well-done moments that were good nods to the original but the story was an absolute mess. There was absolutely no protagonist, no attempt to help guide the viewer through the story. The character development was absolutely terrible, there were plot holes you could park an aircraft carrier inside, and so many moments that I wondered if they were even attempting to have a believable story. If I was 8 I am sure that I would have been very excited about the poorly CGI'ed dinosaur scenes but unfortunately, I am an adult who actually saw the first movie and this is a very poor way to end such an iconic story line, with a script that should have been a first-round draft.… Expand

I grew up a massive fan of the entire Jurassic franchise. With the World series, I let some flaws not impact my joy of them because I believe in the final film we were promised. It did not deliver.

What the heck was the point of releasing all the dinosaurs into the wild if the entire plot is gonna be in a closed off area anyway? I am not a fan of the franchise. While the first Jurassic Park was amazing for visuals, revolutionary for the technical aspects of making the film, and a cult film for brining dinosaurs to the silver screen, the rest of the franchise lookedI am not a fan of the franchise. While the first Jurassic Park was amazing for visuals, revolutionary for the technical aspects of making the film, and a cult film for brining dinosaurs to the silver screen, the rest of the franchise looked more and more as soulless crash grabs. Jurassic World Dominion has one redeeming factor: It doesn't want to be anything more than entertainment with plenty of action and some plotholes. No matter how stupid the film is they managed to deliver what they wanted to delivery, what they promised to deliver. They recognized how the original novel behind the Jurassic Park franchise doesn't make sense, how the author is a technophobe, and some of his novels speak about how he fails to understand even everyday technology, well known practices and his fear comes from lack of understanding. But you can't build several stories on lack of understanding without revealing those holes in the story. When te Jurassic World franchise decidedly wanted to look less realistic, and present us a dystopic scifi world, it gave them some freedom to justify some of the silly things. Now with the last entry into the series they can't explain how dinosaurs would spread so fast, how they would adapt to everything, how noone would have time to prepare... This looks horribly bad for most of the viewers. But once you understand this piece never wanted to be more than a mildly interesting action flick because that is the best they can do with source material, and if they decide to always accept plot holes, unrealistic elements for more fun, then all of these issues are natural. For people who want to treat the whole franchise seriously, and want to think about any part of this action flick, it is horrible. For me, it is just pointless. If you can't make good films about an IP, because the IP is bad, you shouldn't make any film about it. But of course this stupid movie is still profitable...… Expand

It's good the old cast are returning, but it's a bad film if it depends on nostalgia and old actors. There are too many protagonists and unnecessary side characters. Dodgson was there - and nobody cares. He was easily the worst villain in jurassic park franchise. He had no any real motivation and goals. I don't even get it - how did he earn that much money? As soon as I saw the first scene with the white male featured as the head of the corporation, I knew he was the "bad guy". After that it was one female "tough guy" after another. With assertive and aggressive females galore, the movie plunder's on, barely able to keep my family and myself watching. It's like they made a movie so they could systemically reduce the numbers of white males and demonstrate how woke they are. The old characters coming back did hold this movie to a watchable state by drucktape and thread but they probably should have left their legacy in Jurassic Park. I find that Jeff Goldblum is doing a lot of flops these days. Maybe his pull isn't so great anymore.

Anyway TWO and avoid this at all costs. 2/10… Expand

Furthermore, the acting is a total mixed bag, but the bad writing is doing the actors no favors. You know when the chief complaint of your previous movie (Fallen Kingdom) was the terrible script, you're supposed to find new scriptwriters right? Well, either the producers nor Universal seemed to understand this, as Dominion sends the Jurassic series off with a big old pile of Dino dung.… Expand

This movie sucks.... uninteresting plot, too many over the top action scenes were not necessary for a dinosaur movie, enough with the stale overplayed tropes with stubborn **** teenage girls who won't listen and ruin everything, bad pacing and bad choice of plot... lotuses???? Really??? Get real....bad cheesey dialogue, CGI was a step down from Jurassic World, dino boss was super lame, not enough Dinosaur.....in a DINOSAUR MOVIE!!! There's a lot more to say but just save your money and go watch Doctor strange or something else.

I am truly mystified. I don’t care to undertake the labour of remembering Jurassic World: Dominion in the detail that would necessitate writing a proper review, so I’ll just say this: I am haunted by how bad this movie is. It’s so inept myI am truly mystified. I don’t care to undertake the labour of remembering Jurassic World: Dominion in the detail that would necessitate writing a proper review, so I’ll just say this: I am haunted by how bad this movie is. It’s so inept my jaw was on the floor at times. It’s somehow worse than the sum of its parts - and all of its parts are terrible. Seriously, anyone with a rudimentary film knowledge could point to any facet of this movie’s production and say what doesn’t work about it. I really hate giving a 1/10 - it just looks like I’m review bombing. But I’m not. Truly, my hand is forced by the fact I cannot think of one single thing in this film that worked. This film is miraculously bad. For years, the worst of the huge budget franchise sequels have been so over-marketed, so deliberately “safe”, and so focused-grouped to death that they often have no soul (i.e. a Transformer or Caribbean Pirate). This movie made me realize how good we’ve had it with all that. It had me longing for a Rise of Skywalker or a Justice League. Because this is bad in a way you don’t see very often these days. It’s actually risky to be this bad. It might seriously kill the franchise to be this bad. But what’s keeping me awake at night is: studios know this. Universal knows this. So how did Dominion even get released in this state? How did the producers sign off on anything that was happening here? How does this happen?

Case in point: the one thing you would not expect from a movie with this budget is that it would look cheap. Right from one of the first VFX shots, with hadrosaurs (I think) running in the snow, something is noticeably off - it looks ropey. And it doesn’t get better. This is a $200 million+ 2020s movie that has the best visual effects of 2005. Worse still, even the practical effects - the dino animatronics - look plastic, nowhere near the level of the triceratops in the original movie. That was made 30 years ago. And that’s just the part that money CAN pretty much solve. Baffling.

I’m only going to say one more thing. And it’s for Colin Trevorrow and the other writer, on the very remote off-chance they’re torturing themselves by reading these reviews. And I can’t believe I have to say this, but for reasons unnatural - perhaps supernatural - the studio didn’t, so I will: guys. Jurassic Park is about DINOSAURS. DINOSAURS, guys. NOT insects. Giant flying insects is a different franchise. This one is dinosaurs. Thank you.… Expand

If you came too watch dinosaurs, be prepared to sit through a slog of human drama. Effects aren't bad most of the time. Writing for this movie is non-existent.

Film for children 4 years old.
A fabulous cartoon with dinosaurs, this is probably all you need to know for 4 year old children. It was not created for a different audience.

The effects were pretty good but the acting, writing and direction were bush league. The story is an insult to a great idea that Crichton had decades ago, and to bring back the original cast just to embarrass them like this is unforgiveable.

This movie was bad. I rented it with low expectations and still it was worse than I thought it could be. The worst part, it was sooo boring. Just watch Jurassic Park 1 if you want a cool movie with dinosaurs.

As much as I like seeing the original characters one more time, they didn't save this movie. This doesn't feel like a final film in a series about dinosaurs in fact they don't really focus on the dinosaurs at all. Just when you think things couldn't get worst, Dominion comes out and takes the crown as the worst Jurassic Park film. It's an overly long, convoluted story that is honestly just brutal to sit through. The whole movie didn't make any sense. The plot was asinine from the start. Characters motivations were off the charts stupid (like how many people kept forgetting they had guns and would just run away from the raptors instead). I am so sick of Chris Platt holding his hand up. Even the visual effects, usually a strong point of this franchise, didn't look good at all. The dinosaurs movements looked clunky and weird. The leads were clearly just doing this for a paycheck. It's not even fun as a dumb dino movie. This movie really could have used like 100 more dinosaurs to make it interesting. This movie is *terrible*. It's the writing: hands-down the worst writing of any movie I've seen recently except Morbius. The dialogue is bland, the humour falls flat, the character interactions are soulless, the structure is non-existent andThis movie is *terrible*. The dialogue is bland, the humour falls flat, the character interactions are soulless, the structure is non-existent and the CGI looks cheap. It also follows the trend of homogenizing all animals into our friendly pals: with every movie that comes out nowadays wild creatures are portrayed more and more like dogs or domesticated animals. They do this because it will satisfy the largest demographic even if it totally blows. They do this because Hollywood is garbage.

Also the plot, without going into too much detail: it sucks. I know pretty much everyone who's ever seen the other movies is going to have to see JW Dominion so if you're among them just set the bar very low in your mind. There were more than a handful of lines that made me full cringe. Hell, Emily Carmichael even wrote herself into the movie fan-girling over Ian Malcolm. Wouldn't even care if the movie weren't so horribly written, but to lay such a huge cinematic fart and dive right into it... Seriously though, this, Morbius, Dr.Strange 2, Sam Raimi? The chick who wrote the awful Pacific Rim sequel, the guy who wrote Gods of Egypt and the dude who full on ruined the original Spiderman trilogy after giving it okay-but-very-corny beginnings: This is who Hollywood hires. Morons. Actual talentless people profiting insane amounts off of nepotism.

And the acting, on top of everything else it was just all around kinda bad. Jeff Goldblum was the only character that felt right because he's Jeff Goldblum. Otherwise even the old pros like Sam Niell were delivering some lines in a weird way, like they only did one take. Watching Jurassic World Dominion felt like sitting through a toothless Jurassic Park children's series.… Expand

Huge fan of the JP franchise here, so i can't even describe how underwhelming this movie is. I was so bored that it felt like it was draining me and i wanted to leave.I stayed just for the 3D ATMOS screening experience.. The worst film in the franchise. I had low expectations and was still disappointed. Rotten plot, bad writing, poor acting, but worst of all it was BORING. I legit fell asleep watching it. Just unacceptable. Most of the movie is focused on the clone girl for some reason like we care. We don't. I wish the raptor would've ate her in the last one.

Btw, this might be the least violent movie in the series. Almost no blood, and nobody gets eaten on screen. Also, no explanation given for how the dinosaurs can survive in any climate. I mean I get it's science fiction but dinosaurs in the snow? Ridiculous

Overall just a terrible waste of time. The franchise is dead now. I'm sure Michael Crichton is rolling over in his grave.… Expand

There was literally nothing to like at all. I was quite young when I watched the first one at the cinema and it was servicable, nothing special but alright. Worth a watch. This though, two hours that I will never be getting back.… Expand
