Interview with the Vampire is actually a very boring movie and the movie's even got a very forgettable story.

The movie's got some over the top acting from Lestat De Lioncourt (Tom Cruise) but Louis (Brad Pitt) is actually pretty good.

The dialogue which is given from each character throughout this movie is honestly quite weak, each piece of dialogue is received so horribly. Also, the movie's got some good humour scattered throughout only a few certain scenes, which actually works quite well but there's not enough of the humour.

The pacing which this movie's got is honestly dreadful, each main moment isn't built up so well and it ruins the emotions as well.

The movie's got some brilliant cinematography from Philippe Rousselot, he captures each graphic moment pretty well.

Finally, the movie's even got some very gory moments. Which are all actually really well done, despite the dreadful pacing towards these build ups.

The makeup artist Michelle Burk does a brilliant job on making the vampires come to life. They've got a very interestingly dark look to them, which I think adds to their character quite a bit.

Overall, Interview with the Vampire is actually a very boring movie. The movie's got some over the top acting, weak dialogue, not enough good humour, dreadful pacing, brilliant cinematography, very well done gory moments and a brilliant makeup artist.

I wouldn't recommend it, if you're wanting to watch a brilliant Horror/Romance movie, this isn't the one for you.

Interview With The Vampire : The Vampire Chronicles

3 Out Of 5

Interview With The Vampire : The Vampire Chronicles is an interesting take on one's usual vampire tale, especially since it focuses less on the characteristics of it and more on the revenge aspect of it. The chemistry among the characters is acted out and written brilliantly especially in its first two acts where diplomacy brews among them which grows into a behemoth rage of vengeance and spirals out its plot with an eccentric push. It is rich on technical aspects like costume design, art design, editing and sound department. The script is not as smart as the makers think but it surely is gripping enough to keep the audience engaged and invested in it. Addition to that, the makers uses their star power wisely and draws in most of the attention from it.

Anne Rice; the writer, has done an amazing work on creating a high pitched tensed drama among its three dimensional characters where Neil Jordan; the director, is merely supporting her on its execution where he should have been more expressive and accurate on his vision. The performance is objective is utterly satisfied by the protagonist Brad Pitt and his supporting cast Tom Cruise, Kirsten Dunst and Antonio Banderas. Interview With The Vampire : The Vampire Chronicles is a thought-provoking but an over-stretched interview which may not be as nutrient but is surely juicy.

The dialogue in particular is not so great, every line seems like a high schoolers attempt at drama and it never rises to the quality of the cinematography and surprisingly period accurate costume design.

The pacing is also pretty bad, long build ups to events that never deliver enough for the time investment needed to see it. There are some good individual moments that are memorable but its not enough to compensate for the bloated run time and the plot that really isn't anything special.
