Hotel for Dogs is an entertaining family-comedy film which will make you laugh and spend some great time with the family. The story is cute and funny and sometime it has some drama. Nothing extraordinary but something easily watched

Granted, it isn't anything great and the story is very predictable, but it does manage to entertain throughout. The cast is fine, it's a sweet little family film.You can't go wrong with cute dogs in films!

"Beverly Hills Chihuahua" in October of 2008, "Marley & Me" on Christmas 2008, and now "Hotel for Dogs" in January of 2009. THREE FILMS centered around dogs in roughly THREE MONTHS. Cleary, the fact that this many films centered around dogs"Beverly Hills Chihuahua" in October of 2008, "Marley & Me" on Christmas 2008, and now "Hotel for Dogs" in January of 2009. THREE FILMS centered around dogs in roughly THREE MONTHS. Cleary, the fact that this many films centered around dogs were released in such a short time (after only 2 dog-centric films entered wide-release in ALL of 2007) shows that Hollywood was having some crazy obsession with canine companions. And hey, I love dogs a lot, but just because a film has dogs, doesn't mean it will automatically be good, and that rings true for "Hotel for Dogs." The film is far better than most of Nickelodeon Movies' live-action efforts, and it's safe, harmless, family-friendly fun overall, but by-and-large, it's just too run-of-the-mill to really break out a lot. I can't really say that it's good OR bad, though, it's merely okay. If you have kids, they might get a good laugh out of it, but if you're an adult, you might not enjoy the film nearly as much.… Expand

I took my 5 year-old at-the-time son to this at the theatre. It was a charming and decent experience but nothing more--too dependent on CGI rather than a good script. Nice to see Lisa Kudrow and Don Cheadle in a children's film though.

Hotel for Dogs is decent as ever... sadly, it's not working to be a good movie for some people. Dog fans could watch this movie over and over if they wanted to.

A movie that isn't bad, or good. The story needed some work, but was good overall. The acting could be improved, but wasn't bad. They had some good jokes too. You should watch it knowing this.
