It is as predictable and cliche as you expect it to be. The entire thing rests on Chalamet to carry it through and only he can do so much. Just skip this one.

when the face pace moment comes, it's really good. but when the slow pace comes, it becomes sooooo draggy and boring.

I don't understand why it's so underrated. Compared to the overrated Licorice Pizza, this is also a pretty good story.

Timothée Chalamet is becoming a familiar face on the big screen and while he has managed to leave a mark, for me he has not yet done anything that makes him stand out completely.

I know that many went crazy for him because of Call Me By Your Name, but I wasn't one of them. Yes I'm also aware he got an Oscar nomination but that really doesn't say much to tell the truth.
I admit the guy has a good presence and he can really act but in this film despite doing things well, the script is so lazy that it doesn't actually help him at all.

This is the typical case of a film that doesn't add anything to his resume and doesn't create a memorable memory in the viewer. It's not a blatant disappointment but it's a film that leaves you with very little after finishing it.

Hot Summer Nights is pretty much just a showcase for Timothee Chalamet. I want to say that he saved this dry, forgettable mess, but he did not.

This is a fantastic movie! It's a low budget film with phenomena young actors and a great soundtrack, plus it's set in the early 90's! It's not a high budget film, but it maximizes its capabilities and for that, I give it a 10. DefinitelyThis is a fantastic movie! Greatest movie ever made. Perfect cast, perfect soundtrack, and part of the plot factors around T2: Judgement Day, which is cool.

Hot summer nights is a mildly disappointing film, it has great cinematography and for the most part solid performances but the script is very weak and cliche. In the end I had a good time but definitely on the lower half of A24’s great filmography

Contrived and predictable in its plot sequencing and dialogue. It all adds up into not only a dull experience, but also a sour experience which is cemented by its awfully sad, and nasty climax.

It’s not anything crazy special or deep, but if you’re looking for a feel-good movie with some action, romance, and 90s teen nostalgia— this is the one. Good cinematography. Great acting lineup. Would recommend.
