Such a waste of effort which had so many possibilities. It's hard to mix serious with comedy. They should have left the serious and silliness out, and this would have been a much better movie.

A popcorn flick in all regards. If you're seeking mindless enjoyment, you won't be disappointed. Sure, we've seen these jokes before - but Reese Witherspoon with Sofia Vergara sporadically make them fresh. It's not a great movie, but it's aA popcorn flick in all regards. I fail to see what is so horrible about the film. If anything, It completely surpassed my expectations. I found it lighthearted and entertaining, which is what the movie was going for.

It's not bad but it's a disappointment, I wanted to love this movie because the previews were funny, so I was hopping it was good, but then the jokes didn't work, and at times it was boring and then comes a mess. A play by the book cop Cooper (Reese Witherspoon), has to get Sofia Vergara's character to Dallas to testify against a drug lord named Cortez. Every thing goes wrong! A bunch of people in masks shoot a detective and Danielle's husband, Cooper and Danielle are framed, the police are chasing them and the bad guys. The film's trailer spoils the jokes making them less clever when you watch it on the big screen, I was just waiting for them to say the one liners from the trailer (really that's how these studios are going to market their comedies?). After almost winning an Oscar for the strongest and beautiful film "Wild" Resse Witherspoon is in this stale boring film "Hot Pursuit" I guess she wanted to come back into the comedy genre again? Her character is sort of like able, but her accent is rusty. There is chemistry between the leads, this film tries to be like the raunchy wickedly clever buddy cop flick 'The Heat' (Starring Sandra Bullock and Melissa MCcarthy). Sofia Vergara's character is annoying but really is clever. The jokes actually were funny but in the beginning they were tiresome and flat. The gags don't work and since this film is written television writers: David Feeney (New Girl) and John Quaintance this film is sort of meant for TV. I don't get how the writer of "New Girl" (which from it's reception says the show is good) wrote this script. Director Anne Flecther often gives us some funny slapstick scenes put overall her also producers of the film Witherspoon and Vergara give us Brobdingnagian mess. 2/4 stars… Expand

I'm quite surprised about the low ratings here, I definitely don't see it being that bad of a movie. Ok, of course Sofie Vergara's character was her usual self and for those who have watched her in Modern family she basically was the same, soI'm quite surprised about the low ratings here, I definitely don't see it being that bad of a movie. Ok, of course Sofie Vergara's character was her usual self and for those who have watched her in Modern family she basically was the same, so didn't add nothing new to the mix. I'm not saying that the movie was really good or anything, but it still was watchable and had its funny moments. For example, two movies came out recently - Trainwreck and Hot Pursuit, and I actually rate them being as quite similar if you look at how funny they were, but Trainwreck had much better ratings that is why I am surprised. This is a movie to watch when you want to see something not too serious where you can just laugh a bit and relax, not expect something serious or whatever, I mean this is a typical comedy, not the best one, but still an ok one.… Expand

I enjoyed this movie and it was hilarious but I think it has too much with the sexual content. Reece Witherspoon is such a great actor though. Some of the jokes they used were funny.
