One word: Groot!

If you liked the first one, the second one is even better! Multiple laugh out loud moments, with a decent plot, some touching scenes, good character interaction..even some good social and moral commentary. Stay throughOne word: Groot!

A sequel done right! Guardians of the Galaxy 2, again, doesn't take itself too seriously, allowing for comical relief to intermingle with an engaging story line. Outros fatores crucias para o sucesso que o filme foi, foram o uso constante de elementos e referencias da cultura pop, além de uma trilha sonora Memorável. E isso tudo se deve ao excelente trabalho de James Gunn,diretor e roteirista do filme, que mesmo não sendo muito famoso proporcionou uma aventura espacial Incrível, repleta de um humor com timing certeiro e personagem marcantes e bem definidos em suas Características e personalidades pessoais. E depois de quase quatro anos, o segundo filme é lançado dessa vez com o intuito de apresentar uma trama original, tentando dar desenvolvimento e profundidade aos personagens já estabelecidos no primeiro filme, focando no tema de família e redenção pessoal. O elenco obviamente foi mantido, e alguns personagens novos foram inseridos na trama, como o pai de Peter ego(Kurt Russell),que pasmem, é um planeta vivo, e a telepata mantis(Pom Klementieff).realmente é muito interessante ver gunn tentando explorar ao máximo a casa das ideias, trazendo personagem totalmente desconhecidos para sua trama. Como já dito antes o filme vai ter o objetivo de focar no elemento família no grupo, e isso em geral é feito muito bem,a profundida das cenas entre Peter(Chris Pratt) e seu pai são verdadeiras e tocantes, mesmo os antigos traumas envolvendo ele e sua mãe virem a tona ele quer de algum Jeito descobrir mais sobre sua verdadeira paternidade e formar um laço com a mesma. Além deles temos o pequeno groot(Vin Diesel)que é responsável pelas cenas mais fofas do filme, o fanfarão rocket(Bradley Cooper)que dessa vez terá um desenvolvimento dramático muito bem atribuído ao personagem e a dupla formada por drax(Dave Bautista) e mantis(Pom Klementieff) que é um dos pontos fortes do filme, já que os dois são responsáveis pelas cenas mais engraçadas da trama. Além disso os filme deixa brechas para guerra infinita,com as constantes menções de thanos por parte de suas filhas nebula(Karen Gillan) e gamora(Zoe Saldana).destaque para Michael Rooker em seu papel de youndu,o personagem tem o maior desenvolvimento pessoal e dramático do filme além de contar com na minha Opinião a melhor cena de toda a trama, a jornada de auto redenção do personagem é simplesmente sensacional e tocante. Outra elemento que esta de volta é a Ótima trilha sonora escolhida para o filme compondo o awesome mix 2,todas as trilhas são muito bem selecionadas e completam as cenas em que são reproduzidas como por exemplo,father and son que dá uma carga dramática espantosa para seu momento além de demonstrar com perfeição a relação de Peter e ego. Temos também mr blue sky,my sweet lord,brandy you´re a fine girls entre outras ótimas faixas. Guardiões da galaxia vol.2 se mostrou um filme que soube encaixar bem elementos dramáticos em uma trama repleta de piadas e situações Cômicas, deu um desenvolvimento adequado para cada personagem, mostrando um mundo repleto de cores e possibilidades, contando até mesmo com Cenários meio psicodélicos, tudo reforçado pela Ótima fotografia do filme, e por fim desenvolve um final tocante,com um Nível de sensibilidade não esperado pra um filme repleto de elementos cômicos.com Certeza o filme vale a pena ser Conferido, e na maior tela possível. nota 81 ps:não saia antes das 5 cenas Pós-Créditos que o filme apresenta, todas são importantes para o universo expandido da marvel e principalmente para o Prelúdio de guerra infinita.… Expand

I was entertained by the first Guardians movie... I thought it just OK, not great. However, this sequel has made me a fan of the franchise, and I'm looking forward to the next installment. The jokes in this movie were really funny... and II was entertained by the first Guardians movie... I thought it just OK, not great. However, this sequel has made me a fan of the franchise, and I'm looking forward to the next installment. The jokes in this movie were really funny... and I laughed many times out loud, as did nearly all the others in the theater. The storyline was very good as these Marvel movies go... but the dialogue and deeper character development is what made it great. The cameo appearances by Stallone were gems, Kurt Russell was well cast and I now have a newfound respect for actor Michael Rooker. The role of Mantis was also well done and acted.

I would never expect a movie of this genre to actually give me "the feels", but this one sure as heck DID. I was exceptionally entertained by this one, and won't be surprised if it ends up my favorite for 2017.… Expand

A worthy sequel to GOTG. James Gunn's love for the characters and source material come through very well. Each character is fleshed out from the first movie. While not as strong as the first film in the series. Guardians 2 still provides a lot of fun moments, with a mixture of emotions added into the mix. A good sci fi movie takes you into another world and shows you something new and beyond what you may have imagined on your own. That is what this movie does for me. I liked the plot without giving anything away and I think it was done very well. The big sell for this movie for me in the end though is something most miss. The music. The soundtrack is amazing. I love every song as they take me back to a different period of time. That is where it all comes together for me. Want a good movie to enjoy with some great tunes and just a good feeling about life? This is the movie you should be watching then. I can't wait for the next one.… Expand

Já começa com uma cena de ação que pode se chamar de fanservice pq é isso que o fã quer ver, te introduz novas raças, espécies e planetas. Tem, na sua maioria, momentos engraçados mas não deixa de ter momentos românticos (que incrivelmente não são bregas e previsíveis) além de alguns momentos tensos. A quantidade de easter eggs é imensa o que dá a vontade (pra quem conhece e é fã) de assistir milhões de vezes, sendo que, tem 2 after credits muito interessantes e completam a experiência de assistir o filme. Resumindo: Adorei e estou esperando mais ;P… Expand

Guardians of the Galxy Vol.2 had more and Ego was much more in depth than Ronan and better in the case of the villan. The plot was not very organized, its like they wanted 2 different stories and than just put them together, making a messy, and all around not very good plot. Still good :D… Expand

Still, it's a ton of fun. The set pieces are even crazier and more colorful than in the first movie, and most of the aforementioned character moments manage to pull on the heartstrings, even with all the jokes. It's not exactly the revelation that Vol. 1 was back in 2014, but it's infused with James Gunn's unique voice, which gives it a sense of self and confidence that so many blockbusters are missing these days.… Expand

Even though the sequel has a weaker plot, it is one of the better Marvel sequels. It's a funny, goofball type of movie, which even DC fans might end up loving. Vol.2 of Guardians of The Galaxy seems even more enjoyable than Vol.1 because we now know the characters and we can see them grow and interact, we are in complicity with them and the story. Visually a treasure with very good and funny moments.

After the amazing reception to their first outing in 2014, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy return with a surprisingly character driven sequel.

Picking up a few months after the events of the last film, Vol.2 finds the fully formed teamAfter the amazing reception to their first outing in 2014, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy return with a surprisingly character driven sequel.

Picking up a few months after the events of the last film, Vol.2 finds the fully formed team enjoying their status as ‘Galaxy savers’ and working from job to job in a very Firefly-esque scenario (love James Gunn but can you imagine how good a Joss Whedon Guardians movie be?). These early sequences with the team altogether is when the script is at its most fun as one-liners and jokes come thick and fast and the action moves at a neck-braking pace.

Its in the second act though that Gunn’s decision to divide the team and delve deeper into their back stories becomes a bit of a double edged sword. On one hand each of these dialogue-heavy duologue scenes is pitched perfectly and successfully builds each character. On the other hand a string of these scenes one after the other means there is a fair amount of runtime where the plot doesn’t progress at all.

This isn’t to say this approach is a negative in any way, however in the pantheon of Marvel movies we are used to having a world-ending villainous scheme pushing through the whole movie and giving the heroes a clear obstacle to overcome, there are often even cutaways to let us know what the villains are up to (Ronan’s subplot in Guardians 1, Zemo in Civil War, etc). In Guardians 2 however the key driving point that insights the main conflict of the film isn’t revealed until at least 90 minutes in (an estimate).

Now going completely plot driven isn’t necessarily a good thing with these films. Thor: The Dark World for example did zero character development and focused on some generic plot about dark elves making it one of the most forgettable entries into the Marvel franchise.

The key of course, is finding a balance between plot and character, something Guardians 1 absolutely nailed.

In any other franchise this could result in an empty, meh, experience (I’m looking at you Suicide Squad). With Guardians though, the characters are so engaging and genuinely fun to spend time with, that the pacing problems don’t really matter.

Everyone is great in this and everyone gets their own funny moments, action moments and even touching moments. Drax (Dave Bautista) often steals each scene with some fantastic one liners and Rocket (Bradley Cooper) has never been more of a badass.

Obviously Baby Groot is everything….

Gunn also does a great job of expanding on characters that were side players in part 1. Nebula (Karen Gillan) and Yondu (Michael Rooker) both get their own, satisfying arcs whilst also forcing members of the core Guardians team to take a long hard look at themselves.

At the centre of it all is Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) and his newly found father Ego (Kurt Russell). The pair share a few standout scenes together as Peter’s heritage is delved into in a big way.

After a few meandering scenes of character building the final action set piece of act three does feel a little rushed but is nonetheless spectacular to look at. To get any further into the final scenes would be to spoil things but needless to say everything that had proceeded them makes perfect sense in context.

As part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 has the weight of some unreasonable expectations on its shoulders. At this point fans have spent almost a full 7 days absorbing a mountain of content across the various properties and mediums. When every new film comes out we have already known for years when the release date is, who the new characters are, who's coming back, who’s not, how many post credits stings there will be etc etc. All of this means you build a picture in your head of what the film will be and how it will play out. When things go differently to how you expect, as with Guardians 2, it takes a moment to re-adjust.

James Gunn has taken a gamble with Guardians 2, relying on the strength of his characters to see him through. Luckily for us Star Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, Groot, Yondu and Nebula remain some of the most engaging, funny and human characters of the MCU. Now that we know more about them I for one can't wait to see them collide the Avengers in next year’s Avengers: Infinity War.… Expand

Fantastic movie. I loved the original and I loved this one almost as much. Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Kurt Russell, Pom Klementieff, Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker, and Sean Gunn gave stupendous and hilarious performances alsoFantastic movie. The visuals were gorgeous especially the different planets. The writing, screenplay, and story were all outstanding and hilarious. The score and soundtrack were spectacular and I loved the songs Mr. Blue Sky, The Chain, and Fox on the Run. I found this one to be almost as hilarious as the first one. It is one of my top 10 favorite Marvel and superhero movies of all time, one of my favorite action movies of all time and one of my favorite movies of all time. Unlike most people, I did not love the first Guardians of the Galaxy, I liked it. And that is also the case with Guardians 2. No. The story was not the most original and the character's relationships developed too fast for a single film. In the first movie I missed the character development and in this entry it was too much, it just isn't very believable in some cases. Because of this, emotional scenes sometimes felt forced and missed to really make you feel them. All in all I had a lot of fun with this movie and was positively surprised, even though I still had my problems with it. But hey, which movie doesn't have problems? Guardians of the Galaxy 2 was better than Guardians 1 and I’ll list the reasons why because it is seldom where a sequel outperforms its predecessor. One thing was the soundtrack was fun! It fit the movie, and it was amazing. Fun tracks like “Come a Little Bit Closer” had me tappin my foot to the awesome mix. Baby Groot also makes this movie. Baby Groot is funner than Big Boy Groot. Also cuter and I’m sure the merchandising is cashing in on this aspect. Give me a hero who appears weak and powerless yet can get the job done in fun way. And that’s exactly what Baby Groot represents.

I watched Guardians 2 in the theatre and I knew it was a good movie at the end. Right after they started rolling the credits we were leaving and I saw a woman near the front who was an obvious comicbook fan who was crying, and she was talking with her friends and I heard her say “that was a great movie.” It's great when fans are moved to tears because they love a movie. And I’d have to agree with her. 10 out of 10.… Expand

If you liked the first movie, you won't be disappointed.

Volume 2 is a good continuation of the first movie. The same chemistry is there, and the actors and actresses are obviously comfortable in their zone. While in that zone there isIf you liked the first movie, you won't be disappointed.

Volume 2 is a good continuation of the first movie. The same chemistry is there, and the actors and actresses are obviously comfortable in their zone. While in that zone there is several new and older characters that make their appearance. My favorite new character is Mantis. I really think her and Drax would make a good couple (yes I am a romantic).

I don't think this is too spoilery, but Quill gets to meet his father, and I think they made an excellent choice by selecting Kurt Russell. It felt natural, and even though I saw the character arc with his dad it was interesting. As a side note there are several cameos that are great as well.

My favorite character though in this one was Yando. I like Michael Rooker in a lot of things, but I really think this is my favorite role of his. The relationship between Quill and him, and the actual story behind his raising of Quill made him a very satisfactory character.

The movie itself is full of good actions scenes, and even though I really wasn't fond of the golden Sovereign, it was a lot of fun to watch. I even enjoyed the 5 after credits scenes, my favorite involves Groot and Quill. I do have to say that movies are getting out of hand with after credit scenes. Couldn't they just put it at the end of the movie and not make us wait 10 minutes through credits?

It is definitely a see in the theater kind of movie.

The good: It is more of the same as Volume 1, with the addition of more Rooker and some funny cameos.

The bad: I didn't particularly like the sovereign, and after credit scenes have to stop.… Expand

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is yet again a really funny entry in the MCU. Character development is really strong this time. Yondu (Michael Rooker) and Rocket's (Bradley Cooper) relationship is very well done and Nebula (Karen Gillan) and Gamora's (Zoe Saldana) relationship is also very well developed. CGI wasn't perfect but not horrible either. It was sometimes a bit distracting but it didn't distract as much as to just interupt the story for you. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is a great follow-up to the first Guardians of the Galaxy but doesn't exceed it's predecessor. The villain is excellently developed and played by Kurt Russel and overal Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is a fun time to watch.… Expand

Rewatching the trilogy again, this entry manages to not fall into one big problem the MCU has. The lack of colours. MCU movies are notably dull or grey but not GOTG2. This movie also has some nice neat moments such as the Yondu and Rocket "You're like me!" conversation and the moment where Mantis felt Drax's sadness. It does have a weaker plot though with 3 different ongoing plots that seem to be happening at the same time. These plots are barely connected and only get stitched together right at the end. Nevertheless, the cast is still phenomenal and the action set pieces are still enjoyable to watch. The soundtrack is great with one of the best opening use of Mr Blue Sky in cinema history.

I don't get why people are saying that this sucks compared to the first one. I think this one is as good as the first one, or even better I'd say. It's one of my favorite MCU movies.
I know some prefer the first one, but this just works so much better for me.

The ending is one of the saddest things Marvel has ever done. Cat Stevens' "Father and Son" wraps up the movie in the best and most heartbreaking way possible.… Expand

I really enjoyed the opening sequence with Groot dancing to ELO ('Mr Blue Sky'). It's a good bit of visual CGI laden entertainment. The music featured is definitely one of the main plus points for me ('My Sweet Lord' being another featured song). Their pretty random tunes but there's something jolly and fun about hearing them during scenes of fast paced action type battles.

This movie has creative side plots, a big plot involving Peter Quill's(Chris Pratt) father while growing his relationship with Gamora, and Nebula. This movie is full of comedy, and it really shows how much characters can grow, and it really shows that in this movie. Chris Pratt and Co. are just as enjoyable as before, with Dave Bautista particularly standing out to me here; if only due to his amusing moments. I like the addition of Pom Klementieff, I can see a spot for her in the crew. Kurt Russell and Elizabeth Debicki make for contrasting newcomers, Russell is just about good but I felt Debicki and her lot were underused/unintriguing.

Not the most compelling plot, which I found more predictable than what the MCU usually produces, but the strong action end and noteworthy humour elevates it to become a pleasant film to watch; if a drop from the original.… Expand

After the release of Infinity War, I had been bingewatching all the MCU movies to catch up with everyone before Endgame comes. And of course I was watching them all very hurriedly. The memorable movies were the ones that I still remember veryAfter the release of Infinity War, I had been bingewatching all the MCU movies to catch up with everyone before Endgame comes. And of course I was watching them all very hurriedly. The memorable movies were the ones that I still remember very clearly to date (it's been nearly 3 years), while the ones that were terrible and a drag to watch, I forgot them instantly. I'd say this movie comes between the two categories, and as far as I can think right now, it's the only one to be in this exceptional category.

No matter what everyone says, I absolutely hate baby Groot. Cuteness only suits on creatures we are used to perceiving as cute. And thus Groot, a tree, looks very, very awkward with those chubby cheeks. It seems as though that face wasn't meant to be on that body. Also the entire point of his innocence is very irritating, especially the part where he wanted to use Rocket's buttons in spite of him repeatedly telling him not to do it. That scene does not even make any sense, since other than that part Rocket and Groot seem to understand each other literally all the time. Groot becomes stupid or intelligent, strong or weak as the story demands it, which is why I absolutely hate him.

The visuals are absolutely gorgeous. Though it feels as though there is too much yellow in the colour palette and the overall tone is more inclined towards the warm shades, the CGI world is marvelous to look at. Ego is a great planet to look at. I have seen Ego in the comics now so I can't believe they were actually able to translate him so well on the screen. Seeing the spaceship battles always kept me on the edge of my seat. It's just like how I was expecting the movie to become better as time progresses.

But the way the conflict between Peter and Ego came was very bad. First of all, the way they bonded was wrong by their characteristics. Peter is a gullible guy who always thinks by his emotions while Gamora is the sensible one. Yet here Peter was the one suspecting Ego while Gamora wanted him to trust Ego. And then the way Ego revealed his mother's death, ugh! Why did he even need to say that! Firstly no matter how much you are in a flow, you'd never say something like that. And secondly if he knows so much about Peter, how did he not know saying that would make him angry?

I really liked Mantis. I never understood why her character arc was about her being ugly. She looked way better than Nebula or Drax. She was kinda cute though. I couldn't hear any of Drax's jokes so I won't be talking about him. Yondu was also a very nice character. As much as I rolled my eyes seeing him in the movie, I really enjoyed seeing what he had become. His character development is fantastic, because of the redeemed person that he is. His whistling and shooting arrows was very much fun to watch.

Overall this movie is a very mixed bag of opinions for me. I think it's really bad compared to the first movie, but at the same time really entertaining compared to most MCU movies. There is so much CGI, so much world building in GotG that I can't possibly hate it. I'm just gonna try to remember this one. I had forgotten everything about it except the good scenes, so I had to watch the Cinemasins video to remember it. I hope Volume 3 surpasses my expectations.… Expand

Excellent sequel to a great movie! Still an excellent soundtrack, acting, story, action, everything! Highly recommended and if you the ending doesn't make you emotional you might be a robot.

Ah, now this is more like it baby! "Vol. 2" delivers what I was hoping to expect more of from Vol. 1, the fun! Fun really is the one and only best word to describe this action-packed film. Not only was I laughing more and harder during thisAh, now this is more like it baby! "Vol. 2" delivers what I was hoping to expect more of from Vol. 1, the fun! Fun really is the one and only best word to describe this action-packed film. Not only was I laughing more and harder during this film, but it also did what proper sequels need to do, which is to further flesh out the established characters and provide more engrossing backstories to them to make us care for them even more. The plotline too, is also much better, with a villain who is much more interesting and menacing. Furthermore, there are some legitimately sorrow scenes in this film that help elevate it to being more than just a real goodtime action flick. I'm so happy to have seen "Vol.2" and to witness its identity in full bloom rather than in chrysalis form during the first film. This is another big win film for Marvel Studios. P.S. I frigging love those gold aliens who think they are so perfect when in reality they are not. Oh man, hilarious...and also...who the hell wants a nickname like Taserface?? Ha ha ha!… Expand

A decent sequel to guardians of the galaxy I liked Ego and how he had motivations that were understandable since we began getting good movie villains after this, not a passable one good ones.

This is one of the best Marvel movies ever made. The characters are more fleshed out, the villain is 3 dimensional, and the plot twist at the end was intense. This is better than the first movie in almost every way, but still not quite a 10/10.

El mayor logro de Guardianes de la Galaxia Vol. 2 es su capacidad para profundizar en los personajes y explorar sus relaciones de manera significativa.
