en fin es una pelicula familiar dirigiada a menores, aun que hay algunos chistes suvidos de tono solo conte 2, sus hijos no lo van a notar :).

Free Guy is a fun and charming action comedy movie starring Ryan Reynolds.

The movie has a clever premise that works well as a metaphor for living an unassuming life and then choosing to make an impact. Ryan Reynolds is perfectly cast as the lovable but naive Guy, and he brings a lot of humor and heart to the role. The visual effects are colorful and create an authentic looking game world. The action scenes are creative and well choreographed.

Some of the strongest elements of the film are the comedic side characters played by Lil Rel Howery, Taika Waititi and Joe Keery. They add a lot of fun and eccentricity to the story. Shawn Levy directs with a light touch that balances the action and comedy well.

The main weaknesses of Free Guy are a somewhat predictable plot and one-dimensional villains. The romantic subplot between Guy and Molotov Girl (Jodie Comer) also feels tacked on and underdeveloped.

Free Guy is a fun and entertaining summer blockbuster that succeeds based more on its creative concept, visuals and comedic performances rather than a deep or unique story. However, for fans of action comedies and Ryan Reynolds' particular brand of humor, Free Guy delivers plenty of laughs and some heartwarming moments to make it a good way to spend 2 hours escaping reality.

A nice light-hearted movie about a game character. Not that innovative as it seems like a jumbled up version of multiple gaming easter-eggs but still is quite fun to watch.

Disney probably tried doing something like Ready Player One but the shoe was too big. While Ready Player One gained depth from a world behind a world (a dystopian Virtual Reality future) Free Guy kitschy idealizes AI to the maximum to build a near to trivial storyline. Here and there I had some fun watching it but overall it was a silly experience. Surely no surprise, it’s a „modern Disney“. Expand

Blah blah white supremacism, blah blah i'm a woman who doesn't need a man...when will you stop with that woke racism. Plus jokes are quite cheap overall. There are good films with game fiction but this is not one of them

This movie is a result of non-gamers looked at a generic mmo game once and said "yeah, i get it. This is what every video game is like" a generic depiction of games and gamers alike. While not being a bad movie, it's not good either.

I really like Ryan but once again like in all the movies he stars in, he basically just plays himself which is not a problem for me if the rest of the movie holds up well, but it doesn't. The jokes at times feel so forced and are more reminiscent of a bad slap stick stand up then a properly written comedy, granted its not as bad as lets say Guns Akimbo which was a god awful movie but this one is far from perfect and at worst times it rides a very fine line between bad comedy and just borderline cringy. Overall i'd say you can watch it, if you've got nothing better to do but it is miles off a must watch like some people claim it to be, or to quote a much better series: "Not great, Not terrible." This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I felt like this movie did a great job with the love story. Some of Millie's lines seemed kinda contrived (also HOW DID SHE INITIATE A KISS WITH GUY THEY SAID THERE WASN'T A KISSING BUTTON), but it wasn't a huge deal. "Guy" had some fantastic character development, as did the real-life people.

I had 3 main problems with the movie.

The antagonist was an over-the-top douche, to the point where I could not maintain any suspension of disbelief while he was on screen.

The concept of "OMG Guy is trending on social media by being nice!!" made me cringe so hard.

And finally, I really didn't like the "actually, gun violence is a huge problem" joke. Personally, I completely agree that we need gun control reform, but a joke in a family movie is not the time to promote a political agenda. It could have been delivered so much better if she'd just said "okay, let's maybe not talk about that one" or something else that's less on-the-nose.

Overall, I think 7/10 is a very accurate score for this film.

Unfortunately, the movie actually takes itself seriously. Rather than "ha-ha, it'd be crazy if this could happen," it tries to pretend its premise is ... how can I put this ... not retarded? A lot of the stuff they portray as "in-game" is entertaining, but the parts in the "real world," which take up way too much of the movie, are even more far-fetched that the "in-game" parts.

It doesn't help that the movie gets political ("guns are bad, mmm'kay?" along with a couple other topics) but it'd be easier to breeze past that if the whole thing wasn't so committed to pretending it was plausible.

I can't find a single fault with it, it just didn't grab me the way I wanted it to. Maybe I just had trouble connecting to any characters, because it kept ripping me away from one story line to throw me in another that had a completely different vibe. Kudos for coming up with a new type of story that isn't the same old rehash we keep getting, and the digital effects really are something to marvel. There was no way they could have done the special effects other than with CGI, but unlike so many Disney movie, I couldn't find the seams between the real and digital footage. TL;DR if the Steve Buscemi meme was a movie, this would be it.

It’s an interesting concept that could have made for a really good movie, maybe not a great movie, but definitely a good, fun movie, if it wasn’t executed so poorly. It feels like a movie made for a very very specific target audience by someone that doesn’t really know anything about that target audience. It makes all the right cultural references but the tone is so far off base and again the execution is so… almost condescending, it’s like the living embodiment of that Steve Buscemi meme. I heard someone say it was like an AI was forced to watch thousands of hours of those terrible mobile game adds and then made a movie based off of it and I have to say that feels pretty accurate.

Overall though, the acting isn’t the worst ever, I would say 6.5 out of 10, but the plot is abysmal and the special effects are worse than a lot of video games out right now. I think I would need to be very inebriated to enjoy this movie on any level. But I suppose it is possible that if I were inebriated enough, I might enjoy this movie.

It's evident the people behind the movie actually had some idea of how video games work, which leads to the whole synopsis of an NPC somehow evolving beyond his programing and becoming self-aware make a bit of sense and feel believable to an extent. The filmmakers' insight into the medium and culture can be seen in other things as well, like the presence of a player avatar realistically glitching out in the background of a scene or the appearance of significant streaming icons like "Ninja" and "Jacksepticeye" commenting on the events. Those aren't the most significant aspects, but are stuff the kids will love and help prevent the feature from coming off as blatantly uninformed to anyone who has picked up a controller before.

The plot itself is almost a direct copy of The Lego Movie in that it too tells the story of an average dude who's content to live out his mundane existence in a state of blissful ignorance until one day falling for a determined, brooding woman on a mission and inadvertently becoming the only hope of saving his world from a corporate narcissist. None of the characters outside of the protagonist and his best friend (as well as Channing Tatum in a HILARIOUS cameo) make much of an impression, and the romance component really shouldn't have centered around Jodie Comer and either of the two dudes interested in her, but rather Reynolds and Lil Rey Howery. A hill I will die on due to their perfect chemistry and already adorable platonic relationship that's practically begging to be taken further.

Still, the writing does its job of acting as a vehicle for the comedy. This isn't the funniest picture out there, but is ultimately amusing enough for me to recommend it even as things like the action fall flat on their face. Reynolds is such a naturally charismatic star and while this does seem more scripted and wholesome than were used to from him, that snarky, off the cuff wit he's known for still shines through at points. So does his potty mouth unfortunately, so parents may want to make note of that well-deserved PG-13 rating.

I'm not sure we're in desperate need of the already planned sequel, but I'd probably still turn up to watch it anyways. It's got that same affable, whimsical nature I've come to associate with Shawn Levy movies and is surely a crowd pleaser. This isn't the deepest piece of cinema around and is unlikely to blow anyone away. Sometimes all you need though is a light, enjoyable watch that can be easily moved on from afterwards, and Free Guy fits that bill perfectly. Plus, it comes with the added bonus of being the best film to make greater use of video games beyond just adapting them since the last Jumanji.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The movie is littered with inconsistencies, and is a severe misrepresentation of what MMOs (and game dev for what's matter) look like, a somewhat mix of Saint Row and Wow. E.G., they could have pick up inspiration from things like GMod for the "mods having god powers" but no they went full Dr Strange instead, and don't get me started on the gamers are losers living in basements jokes...
It peaked at the Cpt America/Star wars scene,I watched the movie because it was not a sequel or from the MCU and they flopped most of the references (like the portal gun) to overdo this one...
The final plot-twist about the island still being in the reflections was maybe the one good idea, but eventually ruined by the island "appearing" for all the eyes to see when stepped on...

Such a waste a good nice idea, exploring actual "living" machine learning AI ruined by people who don't know that world and would rather cram not subtle politics into the viewer face.

Sorry if this is a bit unstructured bu I made that account to write it.

It executes perfectly on the idea of a gaming world from the pov of an NPC. The plot is coherent without it stating anything, the scenes are brilliant; I have no idea what a coder does but the idea of a game program, the "start up" office and personalities - its all very easy to understand and does exactly what it needs to do - also the movie is funny. Things are hyperbolised just enough to not take away from the movie. Wouldn't be suprised if Guy shows up in avengers. Avengers - take notes that your movie doesn't need to include references and characters from 30 different shows and have to have smart ass dialogue to be good. 10/10 for that chilling and refreshing ending, not some cliche one where Guy comes to the real world and steals the girl. One of the best endings i've witnessed actually. Take notes Avengers, AOT, GOT - billion budgets dont make a movie good, good makes a movie good. Expand

Average movie sorry to say. Interesting concept (love AI thought experiments). Typical Ryan Reynolds movie. Not a bad movie but not a particularly amazing movie either. It's worth the watch if you're bored but it's nothing special.

Too many references, like f*cking Fortnite is one of the cringe worthy ones. Then the mediocre acting of most of the cast, no real emotion. Everything is forced. Trying to understand gamers and failing miserably is happening over and over all over the media...
Putting Pokimane, the biggest douchebag hypocrite on Twitch is another reason why I have lost a bit of respect for Ryan...
He is great in comedy movies, the latest one, Red Notice for an example : Great chemistry between the cast, fun movie to watch on a Sunday night...
But Free Guy, a forgetable experience

Ryan Reynolds had fallen into the rut of fielding the Deadpool persona in pretty all of his recent films but broke free here by going for the inverse; being the one guy not in on the meta (can we still say meta or will Facebook sue?). While the film could have gone a bit deeper with it's critiques of big video game publishers, how they devour creative properties, and abuse their developers...it still made the critique for which it deserves credit. The acting is surprisingly solid (all around), the over the top CGI action works for once (helps that they aim for hilarity), and the plot has some nuance to it. To summarize in a sentence; the best video game movie to date that amuses with solid visual spectacle and comedy while being surprisingly smart. Expand

Ryan Reynolds excels in the role of Guy with the right amount of charm and naivety for the character. Jodie Comer is also excellent, given the challenge of having to play two versions of the same character in the real world and the Free City world. She brings the right amount of spunk and heart to the character. The jokes are funny throughout and really make the film that much more enjoyable. The script is decently written with solid pacing and a well-written message but some cliche dialogue in a couple of scenes, that bring the film slightly down. The cameos throughout also are fun easter eggs that bring that extra layer of fun to the film. This film is a delight that leaves you grinning ear to ear by the end and is a definite watch. Expand

Ryan Reynolds brings his usual charm to the lead role, and the time spent in the fictional video game is good fun with countless jokes and Easter eggs for gamers to spot. The second half of the movie does however become a little too bogged down in the 'real' world storyline of stolen codes and contract breaches, even if the final scene does somewhat pay it off.

It's far from perfect, but it's arguably the best video game movie ever made and gamers in particular will most likely enjoy what they see.

A fun lightweight movie, similar to Pixels, the Adam Sandler movie that got panned but I thought was pretty entertaining. You do have to put your brain away and try not to think about the logic of it. There weren't a lot of big laughs for me, but it ended strong with "Dude." There were also some "woke" lines that were cringy, basically to the effect of "men are all trash" (it's funny how it's always men who write stuff like that into movies. I guess they're trying to impress their wives/mistresses.) Also a "white privilege" line that was just awful. One of those Hollywood apologetic lines; rather than give the brown character more to do, they just "acknowledge white privilege" and then continue to give the white characters the best parts. Typical all-words-no-action Hollywood liberals. Expand

There have been some good video game movies recently, but never great. Then there are video game movies such as Wreck-it Ralph and Ready Player One that are centred around video games. Free Guy is another video game movie that is centred around it. The premise is "When a bank teller discovers he's actually a background player in an open-world video game, he decides to become the hero of his own story -- one that he can rewrite himself. In a world where there are no limits, he's determined to save the day his way before it's too late, and maybe find a little romance with the coder who conceived him". So is Free Guy a great movie or something to be shut down?

Firstly, the concept of an NPC becoming more self-aware is such a great idea. The whole concept is so intriguing and engaging but what amazes me is that Free Guy succeeds in the delivery and the landing. The story is also surprisingly good as Guy trying to gain the affections of Millie Rusk/Molotov Girl is quite sweet and endearing to watch. Additionally, there is a plot with an evil CEO that give the film the tension and stakes necessary for a very satisfying finale. What surprised me the most is how much emotional weight and heart was in Free Guy. Some genuinely emotional moments explore some deep themes about the purpose and meaning of life that I didn't expect. Furthermore, the characters themselves are great, with the exploration of the relationship and character development between them is an enjoyable watch. The action scenes are fun to watch and a fair amount of jokes does land as well. I love the amount of reference in Free Guy to not only video games but other movies too. There are even some references that wowed me. They also use a fair amount of video game terms that didn't make me cringe. I also loved that the director included very silly and funny things in the background as well which makes for great second viewing. The cast all do a great job as well and are incredibly charming. Ryan Reynolds is indeed just playing himself but it is still entertaining to watch even in Free Guy. Joe Keery is very lovable and plays a believable nerdy guy and is the one who I ended up rooting for the most. Jodie Comer is phenomenal though as she plays the passionate Millie and badass Molotov girl convincingly while being incredibly charming. She has great chemistry with Ryan Reynolds and Joe Keery which is what makes both scenes in the game and real-life enjoyable to watch. However, Taika Waititi who plays the evil CEO and villain is a mixed bag for me. Taika succeeds in making his character completely dislikable which makes him an effective villain. The problem is that he is very goofy and cartoonish which is a jarring contrast to all the others who give more believable performances. Most moments with his character are also not that funny and most never landed, unfortunately. There are also a lot of problems with the script just breaking its own rules. For example, it is shown in the real world that they're playing the game on a computer, not VR, yet during in-game scenes, characters act like they can feel stuff when it makes no sense. Moreover, there is one major scene that occurs that baffles me as it was clear from an earlier scene that it shouldn't be possible to do, yet it somehow still happened. Overall, I came into Free Guy with little expectation but was astonished at how much I ended up enjoying it. Even when the writing falters, the natural charisma of the cast keeps it from ever being monotonous. Free Guy is not just a good video game movie, it's a great video game movie!

And it does go a bit too overboard here and there with the "trying to explain how this works" dialog. I guess they really wanted to make sure the non-gamers in the audience didn't get lost in all of the concepts at display. And hoo-boy, is there a lot going on. But it kinda works anyway.

I mean, it's a computer game. The physical disconnect between the game and the real-world servers it supposedly runs on is quite palpable throughout if you know even a little bit about how those things work. But I can look past it and just go with the flow on this one. It was entertaining enough that I kind of just went "Meh, I guess I'll just roll with it".

Not a big fan of Taika W. but the rest of the cast did a pretty good job. My wife and I generally have enjoyed Ryan Reynolds movies over the years. I was disappointed with the woke talking points in the movie, referencing 'white privilege' and 'the patriarchy' so that definitely rubbed me the wrong way. Glad I didn't pay to see this - it's things like this that are why I stopped buying movies until I've screened them - can never trust that some far left political agenda isn't going to get shoe-horned into the script. I hope at some point down the road we can get back to good movies without a political agenda. Until then, I'll continue to screen my content and keep my money in my wallet whenever wokeness is detected. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Easily one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. Beneath the cliché of comedy that surface movie watchers only see is this thought - the birth of thinking, feeling AI. The writers and the creatives behind this, tackles this concept not in a matrix'y Turing kind of way and that's what's so profoundly cool about it. I found myself empathizing to the on screen characters, NPCs, gamer characters, the coders, you name'em. Molotov girl's reaction to her moment was brilliant, how the story unfolds and how it ends is satisfying despite the tragedy of it's setting. If you did not like this on your first watch, see it with a philosophical perspective the second time around.

Ryan Reynolds good job, erm great job producing this
