Worst "critically acclaimed" film of the year.
I walked out, which I haven't done in a very long time. The last one was "Greenberg"...
ok, so maybe there's a pattern...

A sweet film about friendship and getting your life on track. Greta Gerwig gives a good performance. The directing is good, though the script could have used a little work.

Really overrated movie. I guess people who like Richard Linklaters' later movies will love this rambling, unfocused movie and its unfocused ditzy quirky eponymous protagonist. I just wanted to slap her myself. Please can I have my 86 minutes back.

Everything was great except for the blubbering blundering francis (greta gerwig) who even though she had few funny moments in all she just kept on talking non stop a very bad influence for upcoming young adults.

Endearing and enjoyable and pleasing, one of the better of this genre (talk-y millennium young woody allen) which admittedly is not my favorite. Gerwig is also very strong in the role.

Frances Ha is a hoot. It is funny and weird and short(which is a bonus). Lots of strange moments that are enjoyable to watch. It could have delved somewhat deeper, but for what it was it was good.

To use black-and-white photography in film today is a gutsy move. Fortunately for Noah Baumbach it paid off--the lack of color allows focus on the character study at hand.

This movie has such beauty and bitter, outstanding acting and flow. Its a relief to still find movies that portrait humans and real life dramas. Watch it! If you like it, be sure to check some Nouvelle Vague classics too.

A terrific Indy film that shows the life of a woman in her mid 20's that lives a life going from place to place while trying to find her way in New York as a dancer. A-

Drama. Black & white. A ditsy dancer's flat-mate moves out and she has to struggle to rebuild her life. Failed to get into it and gave up after 20 mins.

The hard but frustrated path to fame of an aspiring dancer and her interaction with her friends, it's a tiny but tasty surprise in Black & White, enough for spend 85 minutes while endures the quarantine. Shall not miss.

Top banter. Tasty visuals. Dream-like. Kylo Ren. Spaciously unsettling. Love it.

An ode to being young and free in New York that falls flat.
I like Baumbach's style, but I'm not sure what's to be gained by filming this in black & white.

One of the best Baumbach movies. Definitely a must to see one. A perfect portrait of a contemporary woman dropped in a world full of uncertainties and instability.

As a film, there is no doubt some blanks to be filled. As a character piece, Frances Ha very much worked for me. Maybe because I’m the target audience. I relate to Frances.

Fun and engaging enough, the struggles feel real and relatable but the characters don't. Its black and white because ???

Greta Gerwig is fantastically charming and witty in this all-together lovable and uplifting film. You'll be happily humming David Bowie for days after this one.

Once again a masterpiece with Greta Gerwig. My only complaint is why is Greta Gerwig not in every movie and what can we do to fix this problem in the movie industry.

Not a bad film, but also not worth recommending. It centers around a young woman who is adrift, and her resistance to becoming an adult. Plenty of sexual references and drinking in an effort to make its mundane scenes seem more edgy.
