One of the most underrated films of 2014. Indeed, Filth earns its title, but don't be deterred from riding this raucous rollercoaster steered every which way by the brilliant McAvoy.

Excellent film, amazing, that's the word. James McAvoy is in an excellent performance in this movie. Incredible, i don't have more words to say. You have to see this.

Filth is a film which attracted me only by its trailer. I knew neither the book, nor what told the history. Well the film proved to be an excellent surprise. Especially with the enormousacting of James McAvoy, quite simply monstrous. It isFilth is a film which attracted me only by its trailer. I knew neither the book, nor what told the history. Well the film proved to be an excellent surprise. Especially with the enormousacting of James McAvoy, quite simply monstrous. It is able to render comprehensible to us all these changes of emotions and its lifestyle He is the foolest of the film and start a radical descent into hell, but the character gives us a certain empathy. Besides the excellent acting of McAvoy, the realization is worthy. The director manages to carry us in this tale for adults. Besides that, the film proposes a successful original soundtrack, a Clint Mansell inspired. A very large surprise thus, which will charm all those which like the crazy universes and… Scotland!!!… Expand

Turns out it is much more than that.Main character, Bruce, is actually quite a damaged character as we find out through the movie. What I really liked about it was the fun moments it had and how the movie played out - it wasn't your typical movie where you can predict everything what will happen next. Still, I think ending lacked something and I felt like I had a bit of an empty feeling about it at the end, like, maybe, the script at the end was too rushed or whatever. But anyway, while it isn't a movie you'll call your favorite one, I think it's definitely worth a watch.… Expand

The most deranged comedy I've ever watched. James McAvoy gives a masterful performance. The further the character goes to get his promotion the crazier things get onscreen. It's wildly funny and like the title implies completely filthy.The most deranged comedy I've ever watched. James McAvoy gives a masterful performance. You never really know what to expect with this one. Gratuitous sex and drug use are at the forefront of this descent into madness. Complete with hallucinations and a surprisingly complex plot. It's a wild ride and one I recommend taking.… Expand

They should have called this movie "sex and drugs". This movie came out last year and yes I did watch it last year so now I am reviewing it. the acting is superb and the movie is so crazy but so enjoyable to watch.

This was exactly as i hoped another adaption of an Irvine Welsh novel would be after thoroughly enjoying both Trainspotting (film) and Ecstasy (book). Although it began quite averagely with some obvious humour and contained a bit too muchThis was exactly as i hoped another adaption of an Irvine Welsh novel would be after thoroughly enjoying both Trainspotting (film) and Ecstasy (book). Although it began quite averagely with some obvious humour and contained a bit too much sexual content for my partner, the film gets better and better as it goes on as does the portrayal by McAvoy. By the end it is clear that this was yet another excellent adaption.… Expand

Filth was a very enjoyable movie. Seeing James McAvoy's monster police officer slowly sink into his own avarice and, well, filth is a funny, intense and ultimately sad sight.
