Lots of negative reviews from embittered Bangladeshis. Which you can understand, however for those of us who are just judging this film on the oh so familiar storyline or quality of the action. Cool and sometimes really brutal action. The initial action sequences are amazing, unfortunately the rest of the film is just average.

I would not have needed unnecessary lengths that are used for characterization. The film didn't need any attempts to bring in any depth because the story is very straightforward. That makes the film okay in the end, but not anymore, despite some very good sequences.

Great acting by Ranadeep Hooda. After watching the movie he is the only Indian actor I like. Indian movies must learn how to make movies like this. The story is good but the action is satisfying, so 5 stars for action lol.

Underrated action... What makes this movie special is the action my fellow cinephiles. Forget the story which is rather good, the plot is actually interesting but overall action put this movie at the stage & likes of JOHN WICK... I noticed aUnderrated action... Great action movie. I loved the way it was shot. Kind of like John Wick. The gunplay was also really good. I even enjoyed the plot. Hemsworth was great.

If you enjoy proper, real action films then I highly recommend that you watch this film. If I could describe it in a few words it would be a John Wick film but in Bangladesh. 10/10 for action.
3/10 for the rest.
The action is amazing, truelly. The 1st fist fight is pure John Wick and has some brilliantly brutal takedowns. Then the "one shot" scene is beyond words how cleverly it's made, yes there has to be editing10/10 for action.

The action is amazing, truelly. The 1st fist fight is pure John Wick and has some brilliantly brutal takedowns. Then the "one shot" scene is beyond words how cleverly it's made, yes there has to be editing in there as some of the shots would be physically impossible to do for real, but it's truelly breathtaking. Although I think I prefer the Tom Yum Goong (Warrior King/The Protector) one shot fight as that's pure martial arts and is a pure one shot, this is still amazing.
It's weird as if a film has good action, I can generally look beyond the rest and love the film. There's a point about half way through where Hemsworth and the kid are trying to bring out emotion, but I truelly couldn't have cared less and probably would've fast forwarded if I wasn't watching it with my wife. This is a big budget version of one of them Scott Adkins films. Don't get me wrong, the acting is all fine, Chris Hemsworth is always brilliant (even in that Ghostbusters remake thing) and it's nice to see him actually get to be Australian.
Oh I would also like to say there's a sort of "twist" about 90 mins in that is SO blidingly obvious it's insulting.
Basically if you're an action nut, watch it, the action is amazing. Just play on your phone or something in between the action scenes.… Expand

Unfortunately, there’re few ambitious fight scenes that were ruined by imperfect shaky cam (I mean, still too far away from Paul Greengrass style on Jason Bourne trilogy), but still, I see what Hargrave tried to challenge himself and crews. With thrilling high octane action supported by beautiful cinematography, Extraction is a joy to watch. While it is indeed shallow, the beautiful set-pieces are enough to hold your attention for the entire runtime.

This movie shows how much action movies have evolved recently. Instead of the non-stop shooting without reloading, it actually shows how ammunition is important, and even went to great lengths to prove that while wearing plate carriers, you can't penetrate the plate with a pistol caliber weapon. This is definitely an action movie that deserves a better rating. Most users who rate it was either because the movie was "cliched" or not authentic enough (Movie does not portray what Bangladesh look like). The latter of which I understand and I think is completely justified. Some say that events like those in the movie is not what happens in Bangladesh. It reminds me of the movie Hitman: Agent 47. Sure, those scenes definitely don't depict what happens in Singapore either, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Sometimes, artistic liberty has to be given to movies like this to enjoy it.

However for the former, it is not justified and I have no clue what these people expect from an action flick like this. In this day and age, there is only so many paths you can go for the story not to be too boring, and exciting enough to watch. Most of these paths have already been explored. In essence, there WILL be some similarity in story, but it's not so cliched to the point where it actually makes you cringe. I loved the ending. It was extremely satisfying.… Expand

Chris Hemsworth (Thor) stars in this tightly choreographed action thriller about Tyler Rake, a ruthlessly efficient but emotionally constipated hired gun. Hemsworth is tasked with recovering the teenage son of Indian drug lord Ovi Mahajan Sr (Pankaj Tripathi). Ovi Jr (Rudhraksh Jaiswal) is being held hostage in Dhaka, Bangladesh, by a rival gang; in the film's most bravura set piece, Tyler "extracts" him in real time. First-time director Sam Hargrave draws on his formidable career as a stunt coordinator for several of the Marvel movies, shooting athletic combat sequences with a handheld camera at close range. The effect is immersive and high-impact. A shame, then, about the po-faced script, written by Joe Russo (co-director of Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War) and adapted from his comic, Ciudad. The optics of a white mercenary raining down bullets on anonymous brown bodies aside, the film's solemn tone does the usually charismatic Hemsworth no favours.… Expand

There is one action sequence near the start involving a car chase which I'd rate a 10 in itself, it's truly fantastic. Rest of the movie not so much!

Let me put this is the smallest words possible. If you haven't watched it you need to watch it. It is a well choreographed action flick but has drama too. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

تدور أحداث الفلم عن مرتزق يقوم بمحاولة لإنقاذ ابن أحد تجار المخدرات واللي تم اختطافه بالهند. توقع المرتزق أن عد الخاطفين هو بسيط ولكن تبين أن الكل يبي يختطف هذا الابن ومن مني يبتدي الأكشن اللي بالفلم. الأكشن ولقطات القتال والضرب من أكثرتدور أحداث الفلم عن مرتزق يقوم بمحاولة لإنقاذ ابن أحد تجار المخدرات واللي تم اختطافه بالهند. توقع المرتزق أن عد الخاطفين هو بسيط ولكن تبين أن الكل يبي يختطف هذا الابن ومن مني يبتدي الأكشن اللي بالفلم. الأكشن ولقطات القتال والضرب من أكثر الأشياء الممتعة بالفلم واللي تتقارب من فلم جون ويك والسبب في هذا الشي أن مخرج الفلم اهوا نفس الشخص اللي مسؤول عن بعض الحيل واللقطات المشابه بأفلام مشهورة نفس افنجرز. من نفس المنطلق ممكن تلاحظ أن بعض اللقطات واقعية وبعض اللقطات الأخرى مبالغ فيها ولكن أغلب الناس تحب هالشي. الفلم ممكن ما يناسب بعض الأشخاص لأن أغلب لقطاته دموية. تمثيل كريس هيمسوورث كان مناسب وشخصيته كانت جدا قوية. العبرة في نهاية الفلم.

If you enjoy non-stop commando action with mind blowing combat choreography and execution, then this is your film. The plot and performances are otherwise insubstantial.
