Hollywood today is no longer an entertainment machine that delivers film products tailored to the masses, but a political propaganda machine that spreads a perverse message that is poisoned and insidious with something evil. It is trying with all its might to spread worldwide a sick political agenda. The origins of which were laid down years ago by certain groups that are now in power to spread today the new world view in cooperation with Hollywood. The old beautiful Hollywood that we all loved, revered and admired, that gave us thrilling wonderful movie dreams, is almost gone and the puny remnants that still exist will also soon disappear and be replaced by this diseased growth that is spreading like a deadly cancer, spreading rapidly and killing and devouring everything that was once good and beautiful. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. (Quasi-spoilers follow) Oh my. This is what you continue to get from a generation steeped in postmodern absurdity. This hot-mess valiantly tries to reeeally stretch the bounds of imagination but is so brainlessly weird it ultimately means nothing. In fact half-way through this thing the multi-universe goddess proclaims the gleaming space bagel we're forced to behold proves "nothing matters." This is what we've been waiting for? In and around the tediously repetitive martial arts insanity we get to enjoy large bendy adult toys waved about and people deliberately shoving objects up their rectums in order to jump from multiverse to multiverse. It tries to weave in a touching message about the value of family but it is so unhinged, disjointed, disturbing, and just wickedly uncomfortable to endure that it is an absolutely waste-of-time. It would be nice if filmmakers would actually put out things that are genuinely original, uniquely engaging, actually enjoyable - maybe in another universe they are. Expand

Chances are most of us aren't even aware of any of our other selves, but those well versed in metaphysical circles have a good sense about them, and making audiences aware of this phenomenon is what this manic comedy-drama is all about. When the beleaguered owner of a laundromat is beset by issues with her husband, father, daughter and the IRS, it seems, like the title implies, that everything hits, all at once. But that's nothing compared to what happens when she's unexpectedly contacted by a different version of her spouse who informs her that he's been looking for her for a long time to help resolve an issue with a growing evil in the multiverse, a concept with which she's supposedly best suited but completely unfamiliar. However, as her awareness grows, this new adventure begins opening doors for her in unexpected ways, not only in the universe in which she dwells, but also those in which other versions of herself reside. The result is an insightful and hilarious exploration of some heady philosophical and moral concepts, punctuated by stunningly clever visual effects, huge laughs, clever send-ups of a variety of other films, and dynamite performances by Michelle Yeoh and Jamie Lee Curtis. Nevertheless, despite these assets, the film goes on far too long, telling a story that could have easily been trimmed by about a half-hour, primarily by eliminating some bits that overstay their welcome (such as take-offs of martial arts movies that start out funny but grow tiresome after a few too many runs). This offering from directors Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert is certainly an ambitious and inventive release, but it's unfortunate that the filmmakers didn't know when to quit. It's indeed worth a look, but it's regrettable that those responsible for the picture didn't quite know when to stop. Expand

Just when I was hoping this annoying movie was over, they'd drill in their point another time, another way. Ironically, they didn't spend enough time in any of her other lives to really care about the character(s).

I'm a big fan of Michelle Yeoh. She was as good as she could be with what she was given. The other actors were good, too. To me, this seems like a director trying too hard to be cool. Its structure reminds me a lot of a movie from 1974 called Zardoz and it's every bit as disjointed.

This is not the movie I wanted, but it was the movie I needed. It's flawed, goofy and illogical at times, but it works, it's fresh, unique, and I was a bit skeptical at the beginning, but then I got hooked as the movie started to develop.
I felt connected to the main character (Evelyn) struggles because at it's core, the movie is not supposed to be a hero's story, but a personal, intimate and complex story about everyday life, it's about family, choices, sacrifice, resentment and how the same situation can be perceived as something awful someone might want to escape while others might dream about it.
The whole multiverse idea, the fighting, the verse jumps can be inconsistent and even ridiculous but as soon as you accept it, it becomes entertaining and everything starts to connect as you start seeing the metaphors and the character's progression.
The acting of Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan are both phenomenal and well deserving of the Oscars they won, they really immerse themselves in the characters and personify to perfection the essence of the movie.
The camera work is creative and I caught myself complementing it a few times while watching, some might say it breaks the immersion, but I find it interesting and entertaining.
Colors look good and they match the tone of each scene.
Overall, it's a great movie and I'm glad they won the Best Picture Oscar because it actually made me feel everything everywhere all at once.

But after rewatching it after some time, I am convinced that it is the best form of any storytelling I have ever come across. Granted, I haven't watched, read or played every movie/show/play, book or game ever created in the many languages that exist. But of the significant portion of my life I have spent experiencing stories and my subjective & biased parameters for what an exceptional form of storytelling should ideally be based on, I am certain that this movie is the best I've come across yet.

Why do I think that?

Because it combines the most investigated philosophical question of the purpose of life, the most complex metaphysical theory of multiverses and the most consistently prevalent emotions of hope & despair, all together, in 150 minutes that span almost every storytelling genre there is.

And it does this with a series of truly extraordinary & powerful acting performances, elegantly simple yet extremely compelling dialogues, absurdist yet coherent editing & transitions and one of the most narratively complementary cinematography ever.

Furthermore, the exceptionally intelligent use of various styles of humour, balanced with a metaphorical yet deeply compassionate use of relationships, to construct a narrative that - though may appear comically-absurd & entertaining on a casual first-watch - is actually so much more; being consistently deliberate, methodical & profound on a second viewing.

All this coalesces into a unique emotional journey - with an abundance of excellent humour - that inevitably transitions to a rollercoaster ride of hope crescendos & despair diminuendos, while offering convincing justifications for these ebbs and flows, concluding in an extremely cathartic & appropriate ending.

Everything Everywhere All at Once - as the title suggests - is truly a story about everything, everywhere, told all at once. It's the most conclusive story of existence. And as cliched and inaccurate its ultimate moral may seem, it ingeniously conveys it in the single most hopeful & captivating manner possible.

And that's why it is the best form of any storytelling I have ever come across.

This is definitely NOT one of those times. This was one of the most pointless, gratuitous violence-filled movies I have ever seen. And I REALLY tried to give it a chance, but with 40 minutes to go, we finally walked out. I had such high hopes from the trailer, expecting to see a movie that, yes, was frenetic but was reaching to show a woman who was seeking to find meaning in different versions of her life and herself. It even started out okay for the first 20 minutes. But then it relied on stupid comedy (that wasn’t even that funny) and sensationalized violence that had no purpose. The 2020s have produced some phenomenal films but this wipes the table with them. Genuinely one of the most creative and heartwarming films to come out in a while. This film takes the multiverse concept that’s been trending for the past year or two and takes it a whole new original direction. The incorporation of it works and I loved it. The Daniels did a fantastic job directing this. There is a funny and unique style present throughout the whole film that keeps your eyes glued to the screen. Michelle Yeoh, Key Huy Quan, and Stephanie Hsu are fantastic here and all 3 of their performances are somewhere on my 3 favorite performances of this year. Their characters are incredibly unique and interesting to follow and it’s a great return to screen for Quan who hasn’t been in a major film since The Goonies. They did a fantastic job playing all these different versions of themselves and making them feel familiar yet different at the same time. The emotional beats work so well. The film made me tear up on multiple occasions in the last 30 minutes because these characters are just so wonderful to follow. Any scene at the end manages to make you happy for these characters and the struggle that they have been through. The action and cinematography go hand in hand with amazing they are. There isn’t an action set piece that feels repeated and every scene is so amazing in their own separate way whether it’s really cool and badass or just really funny as well. This film manages to use so many different cool and fun colors that immediately keep your eyes glued to the screen no matter what is going on. The film’s use of themes like existentialism and where we belong in this world work perfectly for this story and even we are no one, we are someone out there to somebody else. This is an absolutely necessary watch for anyone who enjoys movies. It’s a masterpiece in every aspect of filmmaking and it 100% deserves the price of admission. Go see this right now. Expand

Seems like everybody makes a Multiverse movies nowadays. I'm a fan of Michelle Yeoh since Police Story 3... she lately for the past couple of years kinda have a renaissance in her acting career... she is everywhere... movies and TV.

Of all the movies she's in...I think she never play a role that carry a movie... she always part of ensembles. This is the best movie she's ever in that shows how great of an actor she is. She not just have a wide acting range... she have ALL the range.

This is the movie that her agent need to put in the top of her resume as reference when sending to movie studio for casting.

The movie itself kinda amazing... a beautiful chaotic mess, action packed, funny and emotional... I love how Multiverse were explained in the movie and the approach to Multiverse itself is very unique and new. The jump pad where they tap into Multiverse skills are hilarious. The only one negative for me is the 3rd act... somehow the film maker couldn't find a way to neatly wrapped up the conclusion. Since it is a beautiful mess that are chaotic... the 3rd act keep going on and on and it become exhaustive. The runtime is around 2 hours... it could be tighten into 1 hour 45 minutes. HIGHLY... highly recommended... 8/10... the actor who played the husband is the kid in Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom and The Goonies... he done a lot of acting work since then but I always remember him from that 2 movies.

The movie focuses around generational trauma in an Asian family. That may sound like it has been done many times before but this time is different.

It uses humor and absurdity to win the hearts and mind of the watcher while also going through personal issues in a heartfelt way. Personally, I think there are not many other movies you watch like this in terms of visuals, comedy and storytelling. A rather absurdly different and enjoyable story. I went and made an account just to warn people not to see this movie. My fiancé and I left feeling so gross and angry that we spent Friday night seeing it. Honestly, I wish I never saw it and am truly so confused how people liked this movie. It was clearly written by someone on drugs and needs to be watched by people on drugs. I don't do drugs so hated it. It's SOOO gross, so confusing, seems demonic and just so freaking weird it was shocking. I kept waiting for it to be good or for it to all tie together but nope. Don't do it. Expand

Transitions well between the bizarre, juvenile humor, heartfelt family drama, and martial arts action sequences. I felt the full whirlwind of emotions from tears to laughter to awestruck at the creative action sequences.

I could see some criticizing the immature humor, but after seeing Swiss Army Man, I had a good feel for the directors humor going into the film. If you have an aversion to old school Asian martial arts or female leads in action movies, you may have not like the action sequences.

There are some portions that require reading subtitles. You’ll also need to open minded to some absolutely, totally bizarre, way out of left field scenes. Overall none of these deterred any of my enjoyment. Most fun I’ve had in a theater in 2022 by a large margin. The wife enjoyed it too. Not particularly violent, but there was some fairly crude humor and strong language at times if you’re planning on attending this with family. Strongly recommend

Things soonEvelyn (Michelle Yeoh) is an aging Chinese immigrant living in America with her own laundromat business. Struggling with everyday problems like family, taxes and an upcoming audit, Evelyn doesn’t seem to be living her best life. Things soon take a rapid change when she becomes swept up in an absolutely insane adventure in which she alone can save the world by exploring other universes and connecting with the lives she could have led.

In the infinite multiverse there are quite literally endless possibilities. There are no rules and no boundaries. It gives the filmmakers complete freedom to do whatever they like, while also avoiding the pitfalls of overloading the audience and still keeping an actual story going through all the mayhem. Everything Everywhere All at Once has blown everything out of the water and pushes the boundaries of filmmaking to an entirely new level. Directors Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert who gave us another crazy film, Swiss Army Man have created something really special with Everything Everywhere All at Once. So even though my head is melted and I felt I needed time to process the insanity of Everything Everywhere All at Once, this is a film I urge all of you to see.

At its heart it’s a story about the stresses of life, the feelings of regret and the constant ‘what if’ that I believe we can all relate to. There is also a mother daughter theme amongst the chaos. It’s really unlike anything you’ve ever seen before and I know we’ve had a few very recent trend of movies exploring the multiverse (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Spider-Man: No Way Home) but this is something else entirely on another level. There are so many crazy alternative universes jam-packed into it making you as an audience question every potential life you could have lived and also showing you some mental universes you’d never think possible. I’m not going to say too much as all my reviews are spoiler free but Everything Everywhere All at Once is this decade’s The Matrix. The story takes you on a very chaotic journey which is also far more emotional than I expected. Michelle Yeoh and her daughter Joy (Stephanie Hsu) are absolutely wonderful. You’ve also got Ke Huy Quan (Short Round), James Hong and Jamie Lee Curtis in there. The entire cast are brilliant and I can only image the fun they all had creating this spectacular movie that had most of the cinema in stitches laughing.

Everything Everywhere All at Once is feckin’ bonkers, highly original and an experience not to be missed. Highly recommended, although I can tell you this will not be for everyone, and the only way to know for sure is to give it a chance but you cannot beat the feeling of seeing this madness in a packed cinema.

I love the way they were experimenting with the shots, pacing and characters and thats where the comedy hit the most (and the sad moments also). The only really bad thing for me about this movie is that it's very long and they could have cut 30 minutes of it and we wouldn't lose anything. But I gave it a try anyhow to see if it lives up to the hype. Not going to lie, it started off kind of messy, and I had a hard time following the story switching between the english and chinese language. The scenes in the first half of the movie appeared incoherent and it was hard to understand what was going on. But then I discovered that this incoherence was consistent, like some mathematical constant and came to realization that maybe I should not approach this movie with logic and I should not try so hard to understand it, but rather let the movie take you in for the ride and get into it for the sensation of it all and see where it goes. And oh my, how it delivered. I wasn't expecting such an epic emotional rollercoaster experience, even with all the crazy over the top things happening on screen, it blended very well together. It literally included everything, everywhere, all at once that you ever wanted in a movie. This was a masterpiece of a movie. Instant timeless classic, and topics touched upon that are very relevant for our times. This also shows you that representation matters! It gives us a whole range of new and interesting perspective and content we never knew we wanted! My compliments for the script writers and producers for giving us this gem of a movie and it certainly lived up to the hype and more! Expand

An absolutely beautiful philosophical narrative wrapped up in a package that is far more accessible and appealing than the average A24 movie.

This movie is well-acted, features particularly stunning visual effects, and possesses dialogue and writing that presents hopefulness and emotion without succumbing to anything that feels cheesy or forced. It possesses enough subtlety for people to interpret the movie's themes in whatever way they wish.

While this movie has received a great deal of positive attention after its release, it pleases me greatly to say that the praise feels earned. It is a beautiful, endearing and powerful narrative about love, philanthropy, and making our own meaning in a world that often feels senselessly and relentlessly cruel.

Probably... but probably not... but mostly likely both at the same time? Probably. And No! This is not a "postmodern" film that proclaims "nothing matters", as some fools on here are convinced. First of all, "postmodernism" is not the same thing as "nihilism". Second of all, this is *not* a film about how "nothing matters", this is a film about how *everything* matters. Every choice, every relationship, every cream cheese bagel!!! Do some of the actors in this movie need to lose some weight? Yes. Are there lesbians included in this package? Yes. Do I give a **** No. Is watching this movie the first time I've had a psychedelic experience and contemplated our metaphysical reality and how consciousness relates to it? No. Is this a better multiverse movie than that mainstream curated Doctor Strange Multiverse **** that released the same year and probably grossed more money at the box office cuz normies gonna normie? I wrote that this movie is a giant masterpiece in the new millennium. I wrote that this film is like the paintings of Edvard Munch and "Nicolas Poussin ", which have been made into the movie. And I said that mankind has not been able to create such a thing for centuries. And I also praised the perfect script. But after seeing a lot of negative comments, I became doubtful and some questions arose in my mind. Maybe I thought about the vagueness of Tan's story and changed my mind. When the movie won seven Oscars. I watched it for third time and asked myself, what is the definition of a smart story? If we want to logically create and define an intelligent story (I emphasize, logically), what should we do? And can social effects affect my poor understanding of modern art? In both cases, the answer was yes.it must be done in this way.
We have to adapt to life, boys. The last night Oscar action is not only very bravely but is so differentt action. and is a very game changer act

The film, which won seven Academy Awards, was directed by Daniels. He co-directed only two films, Swiss Army Man and this one. Nevertheless, he beat Spielberg at the Oscars.

The film was produced by A24, a company with tremendous momentum, which also produced The Whale and Aftersun in the same year. He released this film at a time when he had a lot of momentum, but it was not expected at first.

Although Michelle Yeoh, Jamie Lee Curtis, and other somewhat familiar actors were in the film, supporting actor Kee Hui Quan had not had a prominent role since The Goonies, and the rest were new actors. However, the performances by the cast were excellent, and in total, the film received four Oscar nominations, three of which were won.

At the beginning of the film, Michelle Yeoh runs a dry-cleaning business and is a realistic protagonist with a gay daughter, a difficult dry-cleaning business, a noisy father, and an unreliable husband. Later, her husband arrives from another world claiming a crisis in the multiverse, and she is quickly pulled away from reality, but in the end, she settles for a realistic ending. It is easy to explain why this film is so beloved. It offers unrealistic, exciting fun and settles on a simple theme of family love. The characters are all flawed but lovable, and after watching the film, you love the film itself. The film is also rated R, which means it is suitable for adults. It is a good opportunity for adults to rethink the idea of family love.

There are glimpses of Daniels' humor in the film. He does ''funny things'' when he moves to another multiverse. Eating lip balm, saying I really love you... these are all apparently Daniels' ideas. It was a bizarre and funny film that was nominated for 11 Oscars and won 7, but I don't know if it was the right one. I don't know if I got it right, because my favorite film, The Fablemans, was nominated for 7 categories but didn't win any of them.

Every small element of this masterpiece was expertly crafted and there were 0 parts at which I felt needed improvement. The story was a beautiful and fluid masterpiece. The sound design was astounding and sudden, with perfect precision for comedic timing and suspenseful timing. The humour was excellent, with a wide range of modern humour, old people humour and even dirty humour, though whenever a joke was made which I wasn't interested in, it was something so 'on the side' as an extra that it gave no detriment to the scene. The cinematography was the best of its kind, including sudden dramatic shot changes with beautiful transitions. I have never seen better camera work or cinematography in my entire life. The acting was incredible, with the perfect cast of emotional characters which you could really feel for. At no point was it at obvious it was a production. Even the subtitles were warping with the camera effects! The set design was soo good and really did a good job at holding the scenes. The fighting sequences were unmatched with perfect timing and consistency. I love action sequences of that sort in movies, and these were the most incredible fight sequences I have ever seen. Absolutely astounding. The greatest work in any film I have ever seen, and is my new personal favourite movie of all time. Expand

A puerile film for faux intellectuals. Honestly, if this impresses you, please expand your horizons - maybe read a book or two, some of the classics, perhaps. What passes for quality these days is shockingly bad.

A very ambitious film that explores the multiverse beautifully as well as the struggles of everyday life. The cinematography and scenes are beautifully made and the overall message of the film is beautiful.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It's a watchable movie, but you have to watch it using a pomodoro, to rest, believe me you will need it. Watching all at once is a mistake because it feels like a 90's MTV music video there's so much happening too fast! It gives me a headache and I'm not even an epileptic. It continues a trend of current movies to have scenes that are too fast. The only part I really liked was from 1:46:00 until about 1:48:00 when the woman's husband speaks. watch and you will understand. Hes a nice guy Expand

In a world where everything is a super hero movie, sequel, or remake. I have been starting to feel like originality in film is hard to come by. Uhhh.... until this mind f*ck of a film comes out of nowhere and blows my mind. Even if its not

I'm speechless...
The entire movie is a rollercoaster of emotions, I saw things I never expected to see and I enjoyed every moment. The first half of the movie can be quite confusing but hang in there, the last 40 minutes are absolutely masterful.

First 30 minutes are excellent, downhill from there. An MCU plotline by James Joyce on acid (giant bagel controls the universe), fantasy not SciFi. Acting is outstanding ... rest is okay. Ending is repetitive, never-ending.
