I remember I wasn’t interested in this movie at first because I thought we already had a multiverse movie with Dr. Strange 2 . This turned out to be waaaay better than that. Although, Dr. Strange & the multiverse of madness was still a good decent movie.

This movie just took things to the next level.
It’s intense, crazy, funny, and very emotional. The Kung fu is also great!

Love this film!
I highly recommend it!

10/10 movie! Amazing
Oscar worthy!!

*Just don’t watch it if you’re susceptible to epilepsy. This movie does have some flashing lights and fast moving images. That’s just warning.

Saw this a week before the awards, and it's the first film I've every clapped at the end. Such an amazing, moving and tremendously important movie.
With such an diverse Asian cast, and heavily in native language, it gives me hope that the cinema watching world may have grown up as this would've never been made 20 years ago purely for that cast. Everyone was amazing, every scene perfect sculpted and the mix of comedy/action/family was perfectly balanced.
Absolutely loved it, and came away with the biggest grin.

The acting and cinematography are top notch, the multiverse story is insanely innovative and wacky, and the writing is so perfectly done and impactful. Furthermore, while the comedy comes rapid-fire at points and lands almost every time, the film takes its time for slower, more introspective scenes that leave one wondering about how their multiversal selves are and how we can make the most of this life we have here, even if it may not be as impressive as we hoped. This is a must watch film, and, as of now, my favorite of 2022 without question. Expand

A wild and crazy ride thatI have never seen a movie like this. It is filled to the brim with ideas some being absolute crazy in the positive way, has great humor, a near perfect cast and fights that made the older Jackie Chan movies jealous. A wild and crazy ride that was more enjoyable than almost any other movie I have seen in years. The story starts with the worst day Chinese immigrant Evelyn Wang could imagine. Her laundromat business she had with her husband is investigated by the internal revenue service (IRS), her husband wants a divorce, her lesbian daughter wants her family to accept her white girlfriend while her estranged and traditional father just arrived while they prepare for the new year celebration. Things take a sudden change when in the elevator of the IRS building her husband completely changes personality. He says a multiverse exists and he is from a different universe / reality. The whole multiverse is in danger and Evelyn is their hope to stop the catastrophe. I stop here to avoid spoilers. The story is amazingly well written. It has so many ideas, craziness, humor and highlights. No movie I remember in recent years could compete. We think drugs were involved for a lot of ideas but everything works excellent which is the prove for the quality of writing. Think about it. If done poorly this would be a laughing stock of a story and movie. So I have to praise all writers, directors, producers and the whole team behind the camera. The actors were equally amazing and I think it is a close to a perfect cast as it could be. Michelle Yeoh is Oscar worthy and I am deeply impressed by her performance. Stephanie Hsu, Kee Huy Quan, Jamie Lee Curtis, James Hong and Tallie Medel are all excellent and improve the movie. Then there is the humor. I laughed a lot and cant remember the last movie that was as great for the humor. The fight scenes are amazing and some put Jackie Chan to shame. Lastly I must praise the sets, costumes and CGI. They nailed the movies atmosphere and style with those. Overall this is a masterpieces and truly unique. It was so good that future movies will be rated against this for me. A strong and worthy 10/10. Expand

Transitions well between the bizarre, juvenile humor, heartfelt family drama, and martial arts action sequences. I felt the full whirlwind of emotions from tears to laughter to awestruck at the creative action sequences.

I could see some criticizing the immature humor, but after seeing Swiss Army Man, I had a good feel for the directors humor going into the film. If you have an aversion to old school Asian martial arts or female leads in action movies, you may have not like the action sequences.

There are some portions that require reading subtitles. You’ll also need to open minded to some absolutely, totally bizarre, way out of left field scenes. Overall none of these deterred any of my enjoyment. Most fun I’ve had in a theater in 2022 by a large margin. The wife enjoyed it too. Not particularly violent, but there was some fairly crude humor and strong language at times if you’re planning on attending this with family. Strongly recommend

Things soonEvelyn (Michelle Yeoh) is an aging Chinese immigrant living in America with her own laundromat business. Struggling with everyday problems like family, taxes and an upcoming audit, Evelyn doesn’t seem to be living her best life. Things soon take a rapid change when she becomes swept up in an absolutely insane adventure in which she alone can save the world by exploring other universes and connecting with the lives she could have led.

In the infinite multiverse there are quite literally endless possibilities. There are no rules and no boundaries. It gives the filmmakers complete freedom to do whatever they like, while also avoiding the pitfalls of overloading the audience and still keeping an actual story going through all the mayhem. Everything Everywhere All at Once has blown everything out of the water and pushes the boundaries of filmmaking to an entirely new level. Directors Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert who gave us another crazy film, Swiss Army Man have created something really special with Everything Everywhere All at Once. So even though my head is melted and I felt I needed time to process the insanity of Everything Everywhere All at Once, this is a film I urge all of you to see.

At its heart it’s a story about the stresses of life, the feelings of regret and the constant ‘what if’ that I believe we can all relate to. There is also a mother daughter theme amongst the chaos. It’s really unlike anything you’ve ever seen before and I know we’ve had a few very recent trend of movies exploring the multiverse (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Spider-Man: No Way Home) but this is something else entirely on another level. There are so many crazy alternative universes jam-packed into it making you as an audience question every potential life you could have lived and also showing you some mental universes you’d never think possible. I’m not going to say too much as all my reviews are spoiler free but Everything Everywhere All at Once is this decade’s The Matrix. The story takes you on a very chaotic journey which is also far more emotional than I expected. Michelle Yeoh and her daughter Joy (Stephanie Hsu) are absolutely wonderful. You’ve also got Ke Huy Quan (Short Round), James Hong and Jamie Lee Curtis in there. The entire cast are brilliant and I can only image the fun they all had creating this spectacular movie that had most of the cinema in stitches laughing.

Everything Everywhere All at Once is feckin’ bonkers, highly original and an experience not to be missed. Highly recommended, although I can tell you this will not be for everyone, and the only way to know for sure is to give it a chance but you cannot beat the feeling of seeing this madness in a packed cinema.

It’s impossible to summarize briefly. ButThe film title for “Everything Everywhere All at Once” is its best possible plot summary. The film is chaotic, disorienting, innovative, thought-provoking, undisciplined and profoundly moving. It’s impossible to summarize briefly. But “Everything …” is also the best reason to venture out to a movie theater since the pandemic began over two years ago.

Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert – the Daniels - who co-wrote and co-directed this film, are veterans of several movie shorts and music videos. Their previous feature film, 2016’s “Swiss Army Man,” is summarized by IMDb as follows: “A hopeless man stranded on a desert island befriends a dead body, and together they go on a surreal journey to get home.” In “Everything …” they graduate from mundane topics like human mortality to tackle the multiverse.

The idea of the multiverse posits that there are an infinite number of universes – “alternate universes” or “parallel universes” – where the consequences of all the choices we make or don’t make are played out to their logical conclusions. It’s an idea that has been endorsed by Stephen Hawking and Neil deGrasse Tyson. But philosophically, it’s a pretty depressing brand of nihilism: how can life have meaning if none of our choices really matter?

The Daniels use the multiverse for two purposes. First, when characters jump from one alternate universe to another, the moviegoer can explore the alternate life stories of the primarily characters, particularly Evelyn (a spectacular Michelle Yeoh - 2000’s “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”) who is an unhappily married, dissatisfied co-owner of a laundromat whose main achievement has been disappointing her father. But in alternate universes where she has made different choices, Evelyn is, variously, a famous singer, a star of martial arts films, a sign-twirler on the street, a resident of a universe where everyone has hotdogs instead of fingers and, most poignantly, one of two sentient rocks on an uninhabitable planet (the most touching scenes in the film). Evelyn bounces from one universe to another to help her struggling daughter Joy (yes, I do see the irony) who, as many parents would predict, is both a confused young adult and also Jobu Tupaki, an arch-villain bent on destroying the multiverse. In one scene, Joy/Jobu confides that she has used her superpowers to place all the important things in the world in a bagel (you got it: an “everything bagel”).

The Daniels also use alternate universes to explore core concepts around family dynamics: the paralytic effect of parental disapproval; the notion that a family member’s quiet inaction sometimes represents kindness and strength, not passivity; and finally the strong suggestion that parental love is the most powerful force in the universe. At the end of the day, this weirdly wonderful film shares a powerful theme with the Bible, the Torah, the Koran and almost any good Kurt Vonnegut novel: in a confusing, scary, sometimes brutal universe, we’d all be better off if we all treated one another with a little more kindness.

The 2020s have produced some phenomenal films but this wipes the table with them. Genuinely one of the most creative and heartwarming films to come out in a while. This film takes the multiverse concept that’s been trending for the past year or two and takes it a whole new original direction. The incorporation of it works and I loved it. The Daniels did a fantastic job directing this. There is a funny and unique style present throughout the whole film that keeps your eyes glued to the screen. Michelle Yeoh, Key Huy Quan, and Stephanie Hsu are fantastic here and all 3 of their performances are somewhere on my 3 favorite performances of this year. Their characters are incredibly unique and interesting to follow and it’s a great return to screen for Quan who hasn’t been in a major film since The Goonies. They did a fantastic job playing all these different versions of themselves and making them feel familiar yet different at the same time. The emotional beats work so well. The film made me tear up on multiple occasions in the last 30 minutes because these characters are just so wonderful to follow. Any scene at the end manages to make you happy for these characters and the struggle that they have been through. The action and cinematography go hand in hand with amazing they are. There isn’t an action set piece that feels repeated and every scene is so amazing in their own separate way whether it’s really cool and badass or just really funny as well. This film manages to use so many different cool and fun colors that immediately keep your eyes glued to the screen no matter what is going on. The film’s use of themes like existentialism and where we belong in this world work perfectly for this story and even we are no one, we are someone out there to somebody else. This is an absolutely necessary watch for anyone who enjoys movies. It’s a masterpiece in every aspect of filmmaking and it 100% deserves the price of admission. Go see this right now. Expand

But then I discovered that this incoherence was consistent, like some mathematical constant and came to realization that maybe I should not approach this movie with logic and I should not try so hard to understand it, but rather let the movie take you in for the ride and get into it for the sensation of it all and see where it goes. And oh my, how it delivered. I wasn't expecting such an epic emotional rollercoaster experience, even with all the crazy over the top things happening on screen, it blended very well together. It literally included everything, everywhere, all at once that you ever wanted in a movie. This was a masterpiece of a movie. Instant timeless classic, and topics touched upon that are very relevant for our times. This also shows you that representation matters! It gives us a whole range of new and interesting perspective and content we never knew we wanted! My compliments for the script writers and producers for giving us this gem of a movie and it certainly lived up to the hype and more! Expand

I can't really fully explain what type of movie this is, only that it is very bold and experimental in nearly every aspect, and that the film is - for lack of a better word - amazing. There are flaws, mainly a few plot holes, but I can't really say for certain if any of these flaws were actual oversights or not; they could very well be intentionally vague plot points. The film is really just art in it's highest form and watching It was an incredible time. Go and see this movie, I hope you'll be just as much in awe of it as I was. Expand

A truly sensational film! The utter definition of a must-watch.

'Everything Everywhere All at Once' is impressive from every single viewpoint. I had heard murmurs of it being a great film, yet it still managed to completely smash my expectations. This 2022 release features a superb cast, a fascinating story and some top notch visuals. The editing and pacing, in particular, are brilliant.

The onscreen talent are all fantastic, but Michelle Yeoh is still the absolute standout from this. What a performance! I could watch her in this role over and over and over. With that said, Ke Huy Quan (welcome back!) is awesome as well, as are Stephanie Hsu, James Hong and Jamie Lee Curtis. Everyone plays their part very, very well.

All of the humour lands, with some parts being truly funny. It also manages to show supremely enjoyable action alongside a highly meaningful side too. In short: EEAAO is outstanding - you must see it if you get the opportunity!

In another universe a 10 could be a 5... it could be a 2... it could be a nothing burger grilled over a BBQ made out of butt plugs and **** Would that be immature? Probably... but probably not... but mostly likely both at the same time? Probably. And No! This is not a "postmodern" film that proclaims "nothing matters", as some fools on here are convinced. First of all, "postmodernism" is not the same thing as "nihilism". Second of all, this is *not* a film about how "nothing matters", this is a film about how *everything* matters. Every choice, every relationship, every cream cheese bagel!!! Do some of the actors in this movie need to lose some weight? Yes. Are there lesbians included in this package? Yes. Do I give a **** No. Is watching this movie the first time I've had a psychedelic experience and contemplated our metaphysical reality and how consciousness relates to it? No. Is this a better multiverse movie than that mainstream curated Doctor Strange Multiverse **** that released the same year and probably grossed more money at the box office cuz normies gonna normie? I wrote that this movie is a giant masterpiece in the new millennium. I wrote that this film is like the paintings of Edvard Munch and "Nicolas Poussin ", which have been made into the movie. And I said that mankind has not been able to create such a thing for centuries. And I also praised the perfect script. But after seeing a lot of negative comments, I became doubtful and some questions arose in my mind. Maybe I thought about the vagueness of Tan's story and changed my mind. When the movie won seven Oscars. I watched it for third time and asked myself, what is the definition of a smart story? If we want to logically create and define an intelligent story (I emphasize, logically), what should we do? And can social effects affect my poor understanding of modern art? In both cases, the answer was yes.it must be done in this way.
We have to adapt to life, boys. The last night Oscar action is not only very bravely but is so differentt action. and is a very game changer act

The movie is about an intergenerational Chinese family living in the US in a failing business. While dealing with a tax issue the main character is told about a war in the multiverse that needs her attention. The movie is action packed, emotion packed, and funny af. Oh man my first thoughts when the movie ended was holy **** I’m 99% sure I just witnessed a classic. The trailer for this movie does a great job of essentially telling you the bare minimum you need to know about the plot but the movie itself is something I can’t quite say I’ve ever seen before. The first thing that stuck out was how funny the movie was the jokes aren’t corny at all and don’t feel forced at all and genuinely funny knee slapping material. The action is standout as well as the movies not marketed to be an action thriller but the fighting in the movie just seems so realistic with the use of everyday things like a Fanny pack ( that whole fight sequence with the Fanny pack was **** phenomenal ) and just stuff on an office desk like an office award (you’ll understand this if you’ve seen the movie

The genius is in how the creators comically weave the nonsensical, shattered pieces of a life into a beautifully absurd mosaic. It's weird, wonderfully weird. Expand

I just loved this movie, it would easily reach high levels of absurdity only to go well beyond that. it's a multidimensional, seeking meaning, with lots of choreographed fights. feels similar to the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy in some weird way

A fantastic movie that shows off the chops of everyone involved. If Michelle Yeoh doesn't get nominated for best actress for this movie, it would be an injustice

A true experience of a movie. You will come out of this movie needing to digest all that you felt and saw for hours afterwards. A true masterpiece.

This movie skillfully utilises symbolism and humour to address themes of nihilism, sacrifice, depression and intergenerational trauma. Uniquely, this film could also be titled Truly All Genres All At Once as it incorporates comedy, drama and action into its core identify as a sci-fi film. There is bound to be many laugh out loud moment as well as many moments of introspections which makes it a cognitive experience as well. Adding to a mind blowing plot, is the artful directing, sound score and costume design which adds vibrancy to the message being conveyed. This aspect of the film truly makes it a sensory experience. Your brain will undoubtedly be stimulated. Overall verdict: a cinematic experience once must experience in the cinemas. This will undoubtedly one of the front runners for Best Picture. Expand
