Very pretty animation in a dull movie.
Weird musical numbers that have characters appear in them that aren't really there(?) or something. Music is okay at best, mostly dull.
Religion has been noticeable removed from the plot making theVery pretty animation in a dull movie.

Stupidly goofy lead character with a very predictable arc.
Our family has seen every single Disney animated feature ever made, and this is the first time we turned one off out of boredom.
Over-hyped film. Don't fall for it or you'll have to put up with a sequel too. Have I mentioned it's dull?… Expand

I hate to rate this average but it just wasn’t good. The songs were auto tuned cringe and the story didn’t make sense. I will say it’s placed in a very accepting community. A super haunted house being occupied by wizards?! Lol.

Sorry, but how did people compare this to Frozen? maybe by the cheap imitation wannabe 'Frozen' music? the Encanto songs are very poor and forgettable. Equivalent to the direct home video releases of the past. Awful storytelling, awful music, visual are ok. Wouldn’t waste your time with this one.

What is its purpose? We never know, but shortly afterwards everyone is dancing with magic. They continue signing and dancing with magic until the magic is threatened (we never know how or why), until of course the magic is saved by everyone looking kind of sad and voila! The magic returns! Nobody ever sat down and wrote this story from inspiration or creativity. Some executive got a bunch of hacks together and dictated requisites. Not recommended for anyone over 8 with a normal IQ.… Expand

As a Colombian I feel disappointed, nice graphics a lot of random elements but the history is poor and had no connection is kind of a lazy dialog and only visual part is interesting.

Already predictable from only TRAILERS. It wasn't even good. I don't recommend it. I give it 1 and not 0 because of the animation.

Formulaic, corny and underdeveloped. The songs sucked too. If you want to see a good animated movie, “Coco”, “Soul”, or even, “Sing 2”, are far better movies. Rating it higher then 1 for the representation.

It's a vapid movie despite all the bells and whistles used to provoke a dopamine hit: simple like that. Replace the characters with a bunch of Jolly Chimps and the course of the story would have been exactly the same. Cinematography: My **** Gosh! If you have motion or light sensitivity issues do not I repeat DO NOT watch this. The leas it will do is make you puke. Music: Generic. It's obvious no effort was put into this aspect of the movie.

Special Effects/Environment: Amazing! They've put enormous effort into this too bad the camera is constantly shaking and moving which makes it impossible to appreciate the beauty.

Entertainment Value: Close to none.… Expand

Honestly the songs weren't very good. They were all over the place. The story was pretty lame overall. I guess I'm just not the target audience but even 10 year old's deserve better movies.

Disney in general seems to be trying to reinvent the wheel. They are pushing this culture thing where they try to find small pockets and then use it for inspiration. Setting is important but what’s more important for you to write a good story. Maybe it had a message or maybe it doesn’t but it should draw you in. Look at past success. Little mermaid. Every little girl wants to be a mermaid and then ultimately when they get older to find Prince Charming. It has elements of rebellion from your parents and going off on your own. It’s a tale of growth for a young girl. It’s a pretty fantasy. The first frozen. Super powers of ice. Also a princess to be a queen. Loss. family. Love of family is also powerful not just Prince Charming. I just didn’t feel as intrigued with this one. I loved coco but this one just didn’t pull me in the same way. Delving into other cultures in great but it should be second to your story telling. Just my two cents. Hopefully Disney comes out with something else soon and it’s better than the last couple.… Expand

It was ok, this is just my perspective, but there was just way to much singing. I look at coco, and there was singing there, but not to the point where it takes up a good chunk of the film, and that's the lore you get from these characters inIt was ok, this is just my perspective, but there was just way to much singing. Like cmon we hardly got to know much about the buff girl, or anyone for that matter, other than mirabele . And then just horrible how everyone treated Bruno, just because he tells the truth. I'm actually more interested in the thousand day war that was taking place in Colombia during the grandmother's younger days. Anyways this just falls way behind compared to coco, but that's just my opinion.… Expand

Encanto sucks as*! It is so…shallow. Not to mention that half of it doesn’t make sense. Some of the characters have character flaws amped up to 11 so forgiving them is impossible. Some songs are great, but most are just catchy. I feel that you have to be a real music nerd to enjoy most of this movie. Which I am not. Much prefer Coco. But again, Disney went to new heights for the music. Some of which, like Surface Pressure, was a little too poppy for me. But either way, they went all in on the music and it payed off well. The music was what kept me watching the movie and is the only reason I didn’t give Encanto a 1. The animation and overall appearance of the movie was incredible. And the environments were so well crafted.… Expand

Probably the worst animated film ever made and imo a strong contender for most overrated film of all time. Wow, this is **** boring. There is NOTHING of interest here, there's basically zero story or adventure. Dreadful.
