I think any random 12 year old kid could write a better script. It fails horribly at both the story and the character design, and the jokes are pretty much the unfunniest and most awful ones I've ever heard in any movie. This movie was officially written for drunken infants. Can't see any way this could be considered even a BIT entertaining or likable; a testament to the lows, as a race, that we are capable of. Seriously, AVOID.

Not just because of its stereotyping but because of the auteurism of Adam Sandler. The same cliché story about **** finding love, the offensive humor full of the lowest form of humor poop and fart jokes, and retarded voices all combine to create a cartoon that is both unpleasant to watch and just plain torture making 1 hour and ½ feel like an eternity. The biggest mitzvah you can do yourself is not watch this movie if you see it playing around Channukah. Listen to the Channukah Song by Adam Sandler, spend time with friends and family, or anything beside watching this turd of a movie. My Channukah present to all of you is that I sat through this movie so you don’t have to. Take my word it sucks. Leave it leave. If you thought you hated Adam Sandler’s humor before…..Nonetheless, have a happy Channuakah. Expand

How can such a funny man working with a beautiful animation studio make such a juvenile, unfunny mess? This movie is animated like a holiday special, but lacks any cheers.

Typical that the majority of the critics hated this, but I love it, poop jokes and all.

This movie was brilliant, and anyone who gives it a zero is antisemitic.

It's not so bad. There are some excessive moments, but honestly, it was an interesting idea and made for a relatively funny film.

Not one of the best movies I have seen, but it certainly was not a total bomb either.

An excellent movie to watch during the holidays. The humor is grosser than most other Sandler movies, and it's actually part musical. If your a Sandler fan you'll love it, haters gonna hate.

What a waste of good animation with this garbage, this is worst Sandler ever. I'm not a huge of Adam Sandler, but there are better Sandler movies than this. Humor is dumb and the main character is too unlikable.

As it stands, "Eight Crazy Nights" is a filmmaking abomination. Many people bring up films like "Jack and Jill" and "That's My Boy" as examples of Adam Sandler's worst films, but they often forget that "Eight Crazy Nights" exists, and for good reason. An awful story, terrible characters, an unfunny script, cringe-worthy music, overuse of toilet humor and product placement, the list just goes on and on. Please, please, DO NOT watch this movie. You will be a better person if you just forget the film's existence and move on. No matter how curious you are, AVOID THIS MOVIE! Expand

The only thing great about Eight Crazy Nights is the animation. Everything else managed to sink itself into the drain when the drain plug is opened straight.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'll admit, this isn't Sandler's worst movie. He can and has done a lot worse. Nevertheless, the childish humour still has 'Sandler' written all over it. Even so, there are some salvageable moments. The animation is very impressive, some of the songs are well done and the scene involving the death of the parents was surprisingly well done, especially given Sandler's previous movies. I still don't think the movie is good, but it was far from Sandler's worst. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It seems to be going in a How the Grinch Stole Christmas story, where an angry jerk hates the holiday cheer and festivity, but eventually would redeem himself of his ways. Which is why a movie like this fails, it’s pretty unoriginal, which makes this really predictable. Also, this story is supposed to be a character-driven story, but the problem is that the main character is such and likeable dickhead. Not to mention, it goes out of it’s way to throw various amounts of product placement to where it becomes a part of the story. Also, they try to throw in as many gross-out jokes as possible, from fart jokes, crap jokes, or others. But at least, it had a bit of structure to follow. So, the story is definitely crappy, but in its own sense was even worse than would expect. Now regarding on the animation, this is the strongest thing about this movie by a landslide. If you think that's a great thing, it really isn't, regarding the worst parts of this are just way bad. However, this on the other hand is pretty tremendous. The animation seems to go in a more of a style like Iron Giant or Osmosis Jones, which is understandable for new and unique animated films of the late 90’s and early 2000’s. The thing with both of the other films have their strong point where they'd stand out from the crowd. Like Osmosis Jones and their use of facial expressions and character design. For Iron Giant, it's definite strong point is the Giant himself, and the wonderful character design and expressions. Here however, they have nothing special that'll make it visually stand out. I'll give credit that they have great character animation, good and subtle use of CGI. But at times, the animation can be limited, and the gross out factor really does show, and makes this sort of unwatchable. So the animation is still good, I guess that'll be something to be remembered here.

With the characters, I am very surprised. That these are the most unlikeable, annoying, insufferable characters I've seen in a long time. Sure, you can say Whitey would be be a good character, but his voice is so annoying. His sister, Eleanor is an easy throwaway. Benjamin, a kid that befriends Davey, who'd seem like a good character but doesn't get much screen time and is only appearing in one whole scene which is useless filler. Jennifer, Benjamin's mother, who is just a love interest. And we got Davey himself, the most unlikeable main character I've ever seen in an animated movie, who is careless to everyone and just does the worst things from giving Whitey a Porta Potty ride to speeding through his town and destroying property. Also, a quick mention to the company mascots, who only appear during a song and is there just for product placements. Overall, the characters are definitely the worst part of this feature, and I’m just lucky the movie bombed, so I can never see these characters again.

I wouldn't want to mention the very forgettable songs

Don't watch this unless you love Adam Sandler and his movies

This movie's dumb af but it's fine. The first song, Davey's Song, is actually very catchy. Plus I like the scene of him in the mall talking to the mascots. Good scene.
