First off it was awesome to see the climax of the last arc and the beginning of the next arc on the big screen. This was never marketed as a "movie" but as a early preview of next season.

Here it should be noted that it is not a new film, but rather a fusion of episodes from the end of the second season, and a plot that serves as a bridge for the next one. The action level isn't quite even but it still doesn't disappoint.

They are so lazy, they didn't even remove the credits from both episodes of entertainment village, nor the cut sequences for ads! It was cool seeing the final battle on the big screen, but I didn't need to see the final episode with the demons crying for 30 minutes - this was awful and a complete money grab - wait until the season gets released unless you're jonesing for one episode of swordsmith, in which case you can just walk in 60 minutes after it starts. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Why and why make a movie advertised as a sequel but 2/3 of the movie is a recap of the previous season? Why not just release an episode? Comparing this to Mugen train, this is absolute disappointment. Expand

It’s good, but nowhere near as good as Mugen Train. It’s mostly the last two episodes of season two, and the beginning of season 3.

I've never been quite so upset at such a brazen cash grab. This is not a movie. It is a recap and three episodes from Crunchyroll. They even kept the episode credits in and the intros. They even kept the episode credits in and the intros. You'll see the end of the entertainment district again, practically twice because of how the episodes also do small recaps.

Then, you'll see 15 minutes of the next season. This is not a movie, its a preview for very little. Avoid this if you're hoping for something exciting and new and have already watched the currently available episodes.

And dishonor on the shameless cash grab this movie is.

The "movie" is the last 2 episodes of season 2 and the first episode of season 3. They also show the Intro and outro for each episode. Its just a cashgrab and nothing like the first movie.

With that being said, it’s important to note that advertisement for this animation was quite misleading. I don’t think “movie” is a good term to use to describe what this was. What this film comes down to, essentially, is a two-episode recap followed by episode one of Swordsmith Village. This is also without removing cuts in between for intro/outro sequences(which are nice! However, I personally feel that not so much time of the film should have been occupied by intros and outros). With all that being said, honestly, even if they had advertised it to be exactly what it was, I still would’ve gone to see it. I love the experience of seeing anime series’ that I’m enjoying but in theaters. Overall, I’m glad I went, and I wouldn’t take back the experience. Just know that, if you’re reading this and you haven’t watched it yet, please reconsider if a recap and one episode is NOT what you are interested in! It definitely comes off strongly as a cash grab from Crunchyroll(?)’s end of things, however I won’t go badmouthing anybody or anything since I’m fairly unknowledgeable about these things. Just know if the value is worth it to you. It was worth it to me, but it won’t be the same for everyone! Thank you for reading, if you did. Take care Expand

I love supporting anime movies in theaters, this is the first time I've seen anyone try to pass off this sort of crap low effort format off as big screen content. Expand
