Deep Water is more of like a frustrating movie than a bad movie, i hate when a movie making a victim as the bad guy, and that's what they do with Vic played by Ben Affleck, Melinda played by Ana De Armas is a woman that literally cheat onDeep Water is more of like a frustrating movie than a bad movie, i hate when a movie making a victim as the bad guy, and that's what they do with Vic played by Ben Affleck, Melinda played by Ana De Armas is a woman that literally cheat on everyman while she still with Vic, Vic with his whole passion try to accept it and when it's too much, things gone wrong, seeing a married woman or man cheating on somebody else is already frustrating, and the movie is even more frustrating when they make Vic as an innocent a bad guy, i'm a easliy mad person with this type of movie, i watch a lot of movie with this type of story and most of them is either i'm getting a meltdown and just stop the movie or i'm still made it till the end, Deep Water is not making me have a meltdown, i'm still passion to see how they gonna end the movie though with a very frustrating experience, and with the whole craziness that happen throughout the film, i'm only depending it on the ending, if it's satisfying then i will give a more positive review, if it's not then it was the opposite of that, Deep Water ending for me is still unsatisfying but it's still in a good way and i wouldn't get too specific about it, and with that i'm not going high and i'm not going low, just in the middle of it, in terms of a performance itself, they were all amazing, they're daughter Trixie played by Grace Jenkins is the best, she's not only innocent as a character she was also have a terrific performance, overall Deep Water was kinda wasted this two amazing cast with the whole story, like i mention in the beginning, Deep Water is more of like a frustrating movie than a bad movie. An adaptation of the 1957 novel of the same name written by Patricia Highsmith, Lyne's "Deep Water" moves away from his erotic thrillers and proposes a marital ménage ("Gone Girl", Fincher 2014) in the style of P.T. Anderson, that is to say based on the mutual complicit domination that cancels the dimorphism between the two (Affleck is 192 cm tall, de Armas 168). In the movie he defines her a schizophrenic and she calls him a psychopath, both express their possessive passion desiring themselves for who they are, he a beautiful, rich, intelligent macho, death trafficker and murderer, she a chica caliente, provocative nymphomaniac who loves to betray her husband to enjoy his humiliating jealous revenge. Indissoluble empedoclean interweaving between Thanatos and Eros enshrined by the 6-year-old daughter who understands the high-bourgeois family affair and subscribes to it, it bores and does not seduce even when Melinda sings at the piano "Via con me" by Paolo Conte, chansonnier who in turn now entertains more with his craft than with art.

What's up, Streamers! These movies just keep coming fast and furious like those sequels and spin-offs. It's hard to keep up, isn't it? The streaming services seem to drop multiple new titles weekly. The streaming services seem to drop multiple new titles weekly. Anyway, we are catching up with Deep Water, the so-called erotic thriller from erotic thriller master director, Adrian Lyne, and starring Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas. There's been a lot of chatter about the salaciousness of this one - mostly because of that failed Affleck-de Armas relationship, but who doesn't like a good erotic thriller. Here's how hot and bothered Deep Water got us.

Deep Water follows the story of Vic and Melinda Van Allen (Affleck and de Armas), a socialite couple in a small town, who have an unconventional marriage. Vic and Melinda seem to have an understanding whereby Melinda has lovers outside of the marriage and Vic accepts her philandering in order to keep the marriage intact. Vic isn't entirely satisfied with the arrangement and tries to discourage Melinda's boyfriends from continuing their trysts. When one of Melinda's former lovers goes missing, Vic threatens Melinda's new boy toy by claiming to have killed the former boyfriend. The arrangement becomes untenable as Melinda's escapades become more public, the community begins talking about the Van Allen's and the missing boyfriends, and Vic's jealousy bubbles over. Sexy hijinks ensue.

An erotic thriller needs two things to work: sexiness and thrills. Deep Water is lacking in both areas, unfortunately. First, Affleck and de Armas are a good-looking couple. Although there are some sexy moments, the movie doesn't sell what it has advertised. There are moments here and there between Affleck and de Armas and some with de Armas and the other boyfriends, but hardly enough to justify the "erotic" thriller label - nothing truly memorable. On the issue of thrills, I blame the writing for this because the game is given away pretty early. Affleck is brooding around corners, he's saying obvious and threatening things, and the air is let out of any tension there could be. While Affleck is good at being menacing, the performance and the screenplay dilute whatever intrigue there could have been.

On the other hand, there are some hilarious things that occur throughout. Erotic thrillers can veer into some campiness. Deep Water veers there. I'm just going to say two things: snails and Tracy Letts. You have to see it to believe it. It doesn't make sense, but it does become comical.

Ultimately, Deep Water is a predictable movie that doesn't provide the sexiness or thrills that should overflow in an erotic thriller. The movie has very few sexy moments and there are some laughs to be had, but the story doesn't really make any sense. Nevertheless, you might watch this one if you 2 hours to kill, so get your handful of popcorn and dive in.

Not sexy or interesting, too many snails. Can we please give Affleck something to do in movies.
