Mind you I am not a prude, but there is a lot of vulgar humor, frontal nudity, and down right rotten nasty xxx jokes. Yes they made me laugh and yes Ryan Reynolds was amazing in this role, almost made me think it was his redemption for "The Green Lantern" which I really didn't think was all that bad of a Marvel movie. Again though all that being said once again this is not movie for your kids or even pre-teens to see! Way to much for them to see that they shouldn't see-was amazed at some ppl taking younger kids!!! That being said if your an adult and love marvel and nasty lewd humor that makes you laugh out loud then this is the movie for you, cause it gets down to the core. I can say that this movie never hit a low it took off running, and never even slowed to a fast walking pace, it was full throttle all the way through with non-stop humor and action. I only gave it an 8 because I thought it went a little over the top with the language and hard core stuff, again I am not a prude, but Marvel had to know that some kids were going to see this. Expand

Deadpool: "From the studio that inexplicably sewed his **** mouth shut the first time, comes... me!".

One of the greatest anti-hero - the Merc with a mouth - Wade Wilson was once a special forces operative but turned mercenary. After being subjected to a rogue experiment, he finds himself with accelerated healing and transforms himself into Deadpool. Armed with weapons (and a wicked sense of humor) he will stop at nothing to track down the men responsible.

Never have I seen so many fans (or moviegoers), dying to see a character like Deadpool on the big screen; it's a bit like how everyone wanted to see The Avengers on the big screen back in late 2011. It's bad enough that the studios can't seem to get the character right with the disaster that was X-Men Origins: Wolverine. But the respect and love that fans have for this character stayed strong until everyone's prays was finally answered by this movie. And it did not disappoint, because Deadpool lives up to hype by being entertaining and hilarious. While I don't think it's an A+ like Chris Stuckmann rated it or a masterpiece of all comic book movies, but did I have fun watching this movie? ABSOLUTELY. It's a film that fans wanted and got.

I can't imagine anyone else in Hollywood playing Deadpool but only Ryan Reynolds. He was born to play this character and he's the only actor that I think of to do the character justice. Reynolds as expected did that, and that's make the character of Deadpool he's own. He was terrific has the mouth talking, ant-hero bad-ass. This is Ryan Reynolds come back role after his past disasters roles that mostly involves Green Lantern and Origins Wolverine (that this movie brilliantly makes fun off). Reynolds was just perfect for this character and he did a great performance in this film. He delivered the comedic timing and the somewhat of a hidden charm that Deadpool has. Ryan Reynolds absolutely nailed it.

The writing in this movie was surprisingly good, which I didn't expect for a movie with this kind of character. Of course there are Easter eggs, references and nods to the comics and Marvel movies, but in this movie it's done in such a way that feels kind of refreshing. I know for a fact that I missed a lot of the jokes and references due to amount of laughter that I had while watching the movie. I can say it with a brave face that the writing is this movies biggest strength, because it's self awareness on Marvel movies and itself was all top notch.

I'm so happy that this movie is rated R and not some water down PG-13 movie, because if you honestly think a Deadpool movie should be rated PG-13, then you really don't know the character at all. I'm taking to you Grace Randolph. Just because some little eight year old boy (who probably doesn't know who Deadpool really is), whats to see the movie, but can't because he's not old enough to see it, doesn't mean it should be changed to a PG-13 for someone who doesn't even know the character of Deadpool. These fans have waited 7 or 8 years for this character to be done right, so this little boys mother should teach him some patience.

Now for the flaws: How much better would this movie be if it had visual comedy. I mean Edge Wright should seriously do a Marvel movie, because I know for a fact that he will make the best Marvel movie ever when it comes to it's comedy, pasting and execution (something that Age of Ultron couldn't do). I highly recommend seeing Every Frame and Printing video on "How to do Visual comedy", because Tony Zhou knows some much about movies better then I do. But that's what I felt was missing in this movie and I know this is Tim Millers first big film (And an impressive one as well), but I'm just saying that it would be really brilliant if there was visual comedy in a movie with Deadpool.

While I did think the writing was great, but some of the jokes in the movie I didn't find that funny. And no, it's not because I didn't get it or I didn't understand the reference, because all of the jokes and reference in this movie I understood clearly, it's just that I didn't find some of it funny.

Overall Deadpool is a fresh, entertaining comic book movie that it's hard for any comic book lover not to like this movie. You bet I'll be seeing the squeal when it comes out since I know it's in good hands.

The good news is; the 'Deadpool' movie does live up to the hype that the viral marketing campaign promised. The only bad news is; a lot of the jokes that were seen in the trailers are used in the movie, and they were expected.

But other than that, this movie is fun, almost 'Kingsman: The Secret Service' (2015) fun. The movie stars Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson aka "The Merc with a Mouth", aka "Deadpool" who is seeking revenge on a scientist named Ajax (Ed Skrein) who experimented on Wilson and deformed his appearance.

The movie is mainly structured in non-linear narrative where at the beginning, Wade is already Deadpool, and he tells us the story (yes, he breaks the fourth wall), about how he got to where he is now. The story mainly revolves around Wade and his relationship with a girl named Vanessa (Morena Baccarin), he then finds out that he has cancer, and a recruiter (Jed Rees) entices Wade as he promises to cure his cancer, while also giving him superhero-like abilities.

The experiment proves to be excruciating, but Wade makes it out alive, disfigured and angry, he is out on a revenge plan to kill the people who did this to him.

The movie delivers its promise to be crude, vulgar, bloody...and everything that an R-Rated superhero film should be. It also delivers on its comedy, Reynolds is surprisingly charming and charismatic in the title role.

One thing you should know about this movie is that it isn't a summer popcorn blockbuster flick like 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' (2015), it is a movie that is filled with superbly choreographed fight scenes, the best one involving Wade and Ajax fighting in a burning building.

The romance in this movie is well done, and shows us the more human side of Deadpool, but I do feel as if it boggs the movie down sometimes, but never fails to be entertaining.

One thing you will expect is that this movie is cocky, arrogant and full of itself...but that's what fans of the Merc comics character will be expecting and wanting, whether or not this movie brings you everything you desire will depend on how big your expectations are.

NOTE: >Stay< for the post-credits scene, do not get up and walk out while the credits are rolling, this may not be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but this post-credits scene is worth the wait considering what was seen throughout the entire movie.

Good, fun escapism movie...8/10...delivers on its promise, but not outstanding...

Well, it won't disappoint you in terms of Deadpool as a character. The movie, the plot, the actors(except Ryan Reynolds) are nothing special. But the people who know Deadpool mostly don't care for that. They care about seeing their favorite wise-cracking comic book anti-hero in the big screen, hoping that he would be just as he should be. And I gotta say, Ryan Reynolds did a very good job as Deadpool. I honestly can't imagine anyone else more suited for the role, other than him. Again, the movie itself is nothing great. Bland acting, dragging scenes, lots of CGI (you can tell the studio has had some budget constraints), and a mediocre story-line. This is all offset by the humor, the tremendous amount of easter eggs and inside jokes, and the well researched, and skill portrayal of Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool.

Go see this movie. It's funny, dark, shocking (in terms of jokes) and most fans of Deadpool will not be disappointed. Also, 4th wall breaks within 4th wall breaks!

It did have some issues- the pacing was a bit too fast and the villains weren't great- but there were still plenty of laughs and witty one-liners to keep things going. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is what a Deadpool movie should look like! Action sequences are great - I was smiling the whole time. I was waiting for it since first footage leak and I was not disappointed. Not a 10 point score because it could be little bit more accurate to comic book (some characters are merged together - for example Ajax and Dr. Killebrew are one person) and could have more action and less backstory. There isn't much of a plot, but we don't really need one - just enough of a setting for the jokes, stylish action scenes, and to tell us why Deadpool is who he is, and why he's awesome. The addition of the two X-men characters was a great way to show off his unique character, and also tie in with the overall X-men franchise.

It's own self-awareness, Ryan Reynold's brilliant sense of humour and the hilarious script make for constant laughs and comic relief. But this is only made possible by a suprisingly good story with a well-developed lead character. You actually care for Wade Wilson and his goal, and the character's use of humour can even be viewed as his own coping mechanism. It's great bloody fun and well worth a watch
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: It doesn't really have a 'middle,' it has it's long first act, and a great last act, but there's nothing in between to flesh the story out. Could they not have cut the first act down a bit to flesh out the story a little?
VERDICT: 'Deadpool' is funny and fresh. It's self-aware humour makes it the funniest comic-book movie out there.

It's also one of the more entertaining superhero films in a while and probably one of the very best X-films (not that that is saying a whole lot). The structure is a little wonky and Deadpool's schtick gets dangerously close to wearing out its welcome by the end of the film, but overall the film is a blast. Ryan Reynolds is perfect as Deadpool, the jokes are plentiful if not always successful and the filmmakers seem to really get what makes this character work. It also benefits from coming along at just the right time - all of the recent talk of 'superhero fatigue' sets up this film perfectly as a breath of fresh air while also allowing all of the fourth-wall breaking meta commentary on the genre that peppers the film to be accessible to the general public. Again, it's not perfect, but the audience I saw it with actually clapped when it was over. Deadpool is a great irreverent nasty little B-movie in the vein of Punisher: War Zone (take that as you will). Good times. Expand

Straight from the intro sequence I knew this film was going to be awesome! I'm not just jumping on the bandwagon just because everyone else think it's a great film. Compared to a lot of other big action films, I genuinely believe Deadpool deserves the hype and praise it's been receiving. This film merges great comedy with awesome action in a sleek, stylish manner. Okay, so some parts here and there didn't quite make sense and some jokes were a bit dry, but with the low budget this film had they clearly made the most out of it. This is basically a great blockbuster film produced on a shoestring budget. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Honestly, I went into this movie thinking: it'll suck or it'll be OK. Boy I was wrong.

The opening credits were hilarious and unexpected, very clever way to start this type of movie. The first sequence was, for most of it, in the trailers and as I said my expectations weren't that good for the trailers I saw, I didn't laugh at most of the jokes. But as the movie went on, I couldn't believe how interested in the story I was, and how much I was laughing my ass off in every scene. This movie is what it purely needed to be: a damn fun ride!

My favorite jokes were definitely the references to all sorts of things, I remember most of the jokes that I could quote them almost to perfection. This movie really surprised me, and definitely in a good way.

I fully recommend this movie and even if it has some slow parts (the origin story my take sometime) it's definitely worth watching. It's only flawless in what it tries to be: a damn fun ride!
I'm glad Deadpool it's not with the MCU because if it was, we would not get the R rating wich is what makes this movie and it wouldn't be as good as it is.

Treat Deadpool for what it is and nothing more.

We even get some sex thrown in for good measure. This is not a "Super Hero" movie. This is an "Anti-Hero" origin story.
At the theater, there were signs all over stating that this movie was NOT FOR KIDS. Well, if people would get their heads out of their *sses and actually bone up on the source material first before just blinding going to see a movie, (or maybe pay attention the the big "R" rating), then people would know not to take younger viewers to see things like this.

Violence - check.
Vulgarity - super check.
Sex and nudity - I'm gonna touch myself tonight

The action is solid, the comedy is excellent (if you're not offended easily), the acting is decent....
My only real complaint is there are some scenes that just feel out of place. Namely the ones involving some of the other Marvel characters involved. I know that at least a basic introduction is in order, but it, for me, felt out of place and slowed the pacing down.

None the less, I enjoyed it. My wife of 13 years enjoyed it. The surrounding audience seemed to enjoy it (indicated by the repeated outbursts of laughter). I look forward to a sequel, and look forward to seeing what they do with a much bigger budget.

In closing, Deadpool was a fun ride, and a step in the right direction for this underused yet well liked character. But remember kids, this was an ADULT ride. The kiddie rides are over that way 8=======>

Deadpool was a gamble similar to 2014 Guardians of the Galaxy, a gambleNo one knew if this movie would do well given its R rating and its casting of the lead role Ryan Reynolds given his terrible performance as a superhero Green Lantern. Deadpool was a gamble similar to 2014 Guardians of the Galaxy, a gamble that succeeded tremendously. This movie washes away all the seriousness that previous marvel movies contained. Instead it stays true to the main character Deadpool, with its comedy and breaking the 4th wall. There are tons of jokes that are perfect in its execution and every time brought the audience into laughter. Given its R rating, gore, violence, nudity and language, I suggest kids to not see this film. This film is R rated for a reason.

Deadpool is an origin story but it is shown through flashbacks that happen throughout the first half of the film. It did and excellent job depicting Wade Wilson’s (Ryan Reynolds) life and the creation of Deadpool. The supporting cast did well in providing additional comedy. Each supporting character shows that they are truly present, not some side character that is instantly forgotten. The villains however were lackluster. Francis aka Ajax, the dish wash soap, wasn't that big of an evil person like The Joker or Loki. Yes he has abilities but it did not portray him as this invincible being. He just seems like a small stepping stone for Deadpool. Francis ally Angel doesn't offer much as well, or even talk much. She is more powerful than Ajax, being able to hold her own during her fight with Colossus. In the end she is just a forgotten bad guy, most likely not going to appear in the sequel.

The obvious star of the film is Ryan Reynolds. He just roast his roles in previous superhero films, Wolverine Origins and Green Lantern. Think of Deadpool as when Seth Macfarlane hosted the Oscars in 2013, making fun of celebrities, jokes that actually work. Sure there are a few controversial ones but you know that he did and excellent job that you want him to come back for another year, maybe more. Since this is a real Marvel film, unlike that train wreck Fantastic Four, there has got to be a Stan Lee appearance. Avoiding spoilers, I want to say that Stan Lee did that cameo well and in the most perfect place possible. If you have any doubts on watching this movie, doubt no more, it will be worth the ticket price and multiple viewings. TRUST ME!

Deadpool for me was greatly refreshing with so many superhero films falling flat in recent years it was wonderful to watch a film that didn't take itself seriously, that gave you the action and the jokes and the "drama" without sitting through 45 minutes of flashbacks to un-needed filler pieces or waiting 80% of the film for a un satisfying conclusion. Deadpool gives me hope for the future of the superhero franchise that has been lacking for a long time. I think a second film could easily kill off some of the happy memories I have from the original, but if the team behind the film take the essence of the film without it being a direct copy and paste of he same jokes then it could have some potential Expand

The plot is a little on the meh side but honestly it's Deadpool and hes not exactly the best story teller, however this doesn't effect the movie in any way since even though the low budget can pop up and Deadpool even points this out, it doesn't really effect the action in any way. As the CGI when its used looks great especially on Colossus who might i add is basically Colossus from the comics which is great, and Negasonic Teenage Warhead is a pretty damn cool character as well and I can't wait to hopefully see more of this Colossus and Warhead. The villain although generic is easy to hate and he has his moments same with the other villain Angle Dust as there both funny and entertaining to watch. I won't get into any more detail as you guys and girls need to check it out if you want to support these types of movies and see one of the best comic book adaptation since guardians of the galaxy. DISCLAIMER: STOP TAKING YOUR CHILDREN TO THIS MOVIE. IT IS RATED R FOR A REASON.

Deadpool is a great representation of what happens when comic fans get the movie they clamor for and not a Hollywood version. Ryan Reynolds lives up to his billing as the crazy but lovable **** Deadpool is fully realized and mixes the dark comedy, 4th wall breaking, and crazy bodily antics of his comic book counterpart.

The movie certainly had a small budget, but it seems to work in the movie's favor. In addition to giving the writers joke opportunities, the small budget forced the producers and director to be creative in their approach to story telling and avoids losing the intimacy with the audience that modern grand scale superhero movies tend to.

The largest issue with the movie is the CG effects. Colossus in particular looks a little to shiny and goofy. The movie could have done with a few more practical effects instead of the somewhat lazy CG used throughout the movie. However, this is a very small gripe. A few jokes occasionally fail to land and some of the side characters are not explored in much depth.

In summation, Deadpool is a greatly entertaining superhero comedy and action flick. If you are averse to gore, sexual activity, or foul language, you may want to avoid this movie. Otherwise, enjoy!

It takes a little while to get in gear — or perhaps just to adjust to what's going on here — but once it does, Deadpool drops trou to reveal itself as a really raunchy, very dirty and pretty funny goof on the entire superhero ethos, as well as the first Marvel film to irreverently trash the brand. Just what anyone suffering from genre burnout might appreciate at this point, as well as a big in-joke treat for all but the most reverent fanboys, this film looks to be hitting the market at just the right time — with Christmas releases now in the rearview mirror — to rake in some sweet returns.

Given the surprising amount of nudity, raw sex jokes and nonstop underlined and bold-faced, racy dialogue, it's amusing to picture the countless pubescent boys who will be plotting a way to get into this extremely R-rated romp. Not only does Ryan Reynolds give it his all, shall we say, but the conversations here mostly resemble the sort of thing you'd expect to hear around last call at a Bakersfield biker bar. Or, more to the point, what you'd get if you mashed up the dialogue from the two previous scripts written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, Zombieland and G.I. Joe: Retaliation.

Last seen decapitated and heading down the chimney of a nuclear plant at the end of X-Men: Origins in 2009, Wade Wilson/Deadpool has always seemed like a tough nut to crack in terms of centering a mass-audience film on him. A brash and brazen mercenary, he's an anti-hero with a film noir lead's taste for the louche and low-down, as well as a character who, in narrative terms, stands out due to his predilection for breaking the fourth wall. Whether he could make the grade as the leading man of a franchise of his own was always a question, which partly accounts for the prolonged wait-and-see on Marvel's part.

Other reasons for hesitation lay in the character not being a superhero like all the others and, if the pic were to be done right, the necessity of an R rating — a place Marvel has never gone before. How to reconcile the brand's image and fan base with such material? The answer probably lies in the fact that Marvel is so successful now, and so far down the line with their various franchises, that shaking things up was seen as permissible and maybe even a good move. Or perhaps executives aware early on of what was happening with Fantastic Four said, “Opposite direction! Now!”

At first, with some strained/cheeky opening credits (“a moody teen,” “a gratuitous cameo”) followed by an emotional-investment-free highway action sequence notable for its splatter gore content, things don't look promising — just wiseass-y and needlessly violent. Who is this guy in red and black spandex with white fabric where eyes should be, who fights with two katanas, spins in the air in slo-mo and has wounds that heal at once? Shoot this guy full of holes and he'll be back at you within seconds. “I may be super, but I'm no hero,” he cracks. Why should we care?

Flash back two years and things seem no better, save, perhaps, for the dude's face, which now plainly belongs to Reynolds. A grown man who hangs at a skateboard park, Wade Wilson is a former Special Forces operative whose watering hole is a dive called Sister Margaret's Home for Wayward Girls, where the guys are all former soldiers of fortune who never hit the jackpot and the gals look like Hooters rejects. Wade and a bitter hooker named Vanessa (Morena Baccarin) hit it off and get it on in a kinky montage that's more out-there than what most Hollywood-made R-rated stuff ever serves up.
It's right around here, and immediately afterward, when Wade is diagnosed as having late-stage cancer, that, ironically, the film really starts to click. When a doctor mentions the possibility of going to Chechnya for special treatment, Wade responds, “Isn't that where you go to get cancer?” and you finally begin to sense that there might be something to this verbal speed-freak character after all.
The positioning of the flashback seems simple but serves the movie extremely well, especially with the arrival of Ajax (Ed Skrein, deeply evil), a doctor and head of something called the WeaponX workshop, who takes Wade on as a reclamation project and turns him into a fighting machine who can never die. Ajax's sadism during the painful transformation process knows no bounds and, at the end of the ordeal, he takes particular pleasure in introducing Wade to his new face, which resembles ground beef (Vanessa's measured reaction to beholding it is, “It's a face … I'd be happy to sit on”).

A longtime commercials and visual effects executive and creative director, Tim Miller hasn't so much directed his first feature as liberated much of what has been bubbling under the surface of superhero films for a long time.

Deadpool is absolutely everything anyone could ever want from a Deadpool movie. Brash, fast, not family-friendly, hilarious and bloody, with some excellent fourth-wall breaks, Deadpool is an absolute blast from start to finish.

Firstly, Ryan Reyonlds has found his perfect role. Though I, for one, was calling for him to play The Flash in the DC Universe, he was entrusted with launching a new DC universe as the Green Lantern, in a horrific and utterly disastrous adaptation of the Justice League hero. Here though, Reyonlds shines as Wade Wilson/Deadpool, and even pokes fun at his previous superhero endeavour in the process. Being much more involved in the production of the movie, having been campaigning for a Deadpool movie for years, Reyonlds has often fallen just short of real stardom in Hollywood, and this role can hopefully relaunch him after previous failures. An origin story fairly true to the comics provides a good storyline that fans of Deadpool or just normal movie-goers will be able to invest in, as it is not complicated or a drag in any way. The music used in this movie, is absolutely outstanding. Keeping up the tone of utter silliness, particular songs or scores used in particular spots in the film just reminds the audience that no-one should take this film seriously, as not even Deadpool himself is taking this film seriously. The dialogue and jokes throughout the movie, including all of the fourth-wall breaks, are completely true to Deadpool and most are hilariously written. Though, sometimes, the jokes do get a little cringe-worthy occasionally, but only occasionally. The little quips and remarks during fights that Deadpool makes however are often brilliant, and one fight in particular had myself and the audience that I watched the movie with in absolute stitches.

Unless you are easily offended or seriously against anything Marvel, there is no doubt that you will love this movie. Deadpool introduces itself to the X-Men universe and, in a way, reshapes it.

This is a must see. If ever there was a superhero film so suited for the adults who are yet to reach out to the new line of superhero universes, this would be it.

For the first time, I was genuinely and pleasantly surprised by a Ryan Reynolds acting performance having watched him appear in so many naf comedies and what not. The campaign leading up to this film, the performances in the film, the jokes just pointing the finger at Marvel and all the R-rated goodness make it a film to behold. From minute 1 to whatever the last minute is it just enthrals you with the funny pokes at Marvel and Reynold's in real life, the gripping love story between him and Morena Baccarin and of course the incorporation of the X-Men universe to add to all its glory.

All I can say is, I cannot wait for no.2 with Cable, who I am yet to be introduced to in any form and that if you don't watch this, especially if you're genuinely a self-proclaimed superhero fan, you'll be missing out massively. It's such a fun watch and one that will peak your interest even more in the upcoming X-Men Apocalypse movie.

Ryan Reynolds steals the show and creates a compelling character. With well-timed jokes (of the witty and rude varieties) and classy characterisation, he takes a character from stencil to screen with surprising accuracy and wit. Props to the writers too, who, as the opening credits scene self-referentially tells us, are the 'true heroes' of Deadpool.

With enough fourth-wall breaks to have to build a new house, and humour which, while some may find it immature and childish, keeps the true intent of Deadpool pure as the man in red spandex can be. That is, irreverent and profane, but you get what I'm saying. You will never see a baby's hand or a unicorn in the same light again.

The score contains a mix of classy contemporary pieces with a decent, but not outstanding, original score, artfully devised by the fiendish plotting of Tom Holkenborg, perhaps better known as Junkie XL, with scores to Mad Max: Fury Road and Spider-Man 2 under his belt.

All-in-all, it is a film with clever wit and made with decent filmmaking prowess which can be mixed into a glass, given to a hunk and start a bar-fight. A must-see before it leaves cinemas.

For starters - You can follow The Movie Spot on Twitter (@themoviespot_) and Facebook!

2016 has its first blockbuster, although that isn’t saying much, as January is usually the oasis month of the film year. But more than a blockbuster, the start of something revolutionary has begun with Deadpool. The amount of superhero movies coming out over the next 5 years, with a whopping 24 comic films hitting the big screen. And that’s not counting all of the Marvel Netflix shows and all of the TV shows that DC continues to churn out.

Deadpool may be the best comic to film adaptation done by either Marvel or DC, staying true and capturing the true nature that all hardcore comic book lovers will thoroughly enjoy. And although the casual fans may not know the story or care for the origins, they can still enjoy the brutality and uncensored mercenary that is Wade Wilson. And trust me, if there is one thing done right in this film, it is everything about the main character. The detailed backstory, endless banter that leaves you howling with laughter, continuously breaking the 4th wall that borderlines on played out, but still works every now and then. Ryan Reynolds knocks it out of the park, as many had predicted many years before the film ever went into production. It’s his role, and should be his for a long time, akin to fellow 20th Century Fox colleague and staple, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.

There’s not much that Deadpool does wrong, as it spends most of the time building around the title character, for better or worse. For all of the screen time given to Reynolds, it doesn’t leave much for developing other characters or developing other parts of the story beyond the main backstory and all of its inbetweens. And for all of the characters we were introduced to, including the villains, if you had to answer the “Five W’s”, it would be difficult to answer all of them. I have a pet peeve when it comes to any comic book film, and that is a weak villain. Our villain here being Ajax, played by Ed Skrein, the enhanced superhuman who can feel no pain. I can gladly say that I didn’t find Ajax to be weak, as creating Deadpool ranks high enough for me but playing back into lack of backstory hurts why I should care. In theory, and as spoiler free as I can get, curing the terminally ill to turn them into “superslaves” for an end goal never truly stated doesn’t sell me.

My only other gripe was the sometimes unrelenting breaking of the 4th wall done by Deadpool. It’s an expected thing, and was happy when it showed up the first couple of times. As the movie progresses, it seems to happen like clockwork, and at times where I could have done without. There’s a clear reason for the wit of the character, and to tone down Deadpool, even just a little, feels wrong. But, too much of a good thing can ruin said good thing.

All in all, Deadpool is exactly what every fan envisioned it would be when first announced. A heavy action/comedy that wows you its absurd amount of violence as much as it does the brilliant one-liners. Don’t bring the kids, this is not a drill, not a joke. Your kids could be scarred by what is shown and said, but hey, don’t say I didn’t warn you.

It laid a path for other superhero movies to follow and so we are getting new and more mature superhero movies (like Logan for example). But why? Why did Deadpool manage to achieve all that.
Deadpool is a paradox. It's R-Rated but very immature : penis jokes, blood and farts are just the tip of the iceberg. But don't get me wrong, it works. It's actually very funny which shows that the actors are at the top of their game. The best point of the movie is how the love story between Wade and Vanessa is crafted. It's funny but also real and emotional. The plot is simple but that is needed to make the jokes work. A lot of jokes, you won't understand without a deep knowledge of other superhero movies and pop-culture but that doesn't mean that it's inaccessible to everyone.
I'll finish the review by saying this : Deadpool is a must-watch for everybody, whether you like superhero movies or not.

However the overall marketing and general audience admiration towards it (and the change in direction it was taking), it eventually gained my interest and so I went and gave it a viewing. It was definitely worth it.

'Deadpool' is a well-made revitalisation of the superhero genre, which as of recent has arguably been churning out similar plots and scenarios over-and-over again. First off, this is not a children's film, do not be fooled by the Marvel logo, this film is very, very adult. Of course, by all means, go ahead and take your kids if you so wish, but be prepared for an hour and forty minutes of gore, profanity, nudity and every possible sex reference out there... it is a vast collection of explicit material, but is played out in good taste, very good and somewhat immature taste...

If you are offended, then I somewhat pity you, because it is films like this that the film world needs, something that completely alters our perceptions of the overdone superhero genre, and for directors to take a risk at crafting something fresh. The only disheartening bit for myself is how immature the film is at times, this is practically a feature-length barrage of toilet humour and gags about farts, "human anatomy" and um... *ahem* masturbation... it sort of belittles the adult audience its aimed at, but if you can look past all that, it is a damn funny and original take on the superhero genre.

I really loved it, but it had some unsense thing.
First one is, Why the f*ck was Deadpool searching about Ajax by saying "Where is Frances?" and nobody knows that name, except for Deadpool?
Second one is, how Vanessa was alive after that great fall?
Third one is Deadpool's doll from X-men Origins!
And now with the things I loved.
First one is the great humor.
Second one is the good violence.
Third one is the sexual references and nudity.
The fourth one is Colossus's CGI.
The fifth is the good action scenes.
It is not boring at all, so I love this movie!

While Reynolds has been in a couple of the worst superhero movies ever made, this one plays to his Van Wilder sarcastic persona. The main character breaking the fourth wall constantly is great. The action is entertaining. The villains are requisitely bad. The self-effacing humor is thick. Definitely not for those who take this genre too seriously. This is not the best movie ever made or anything close to that, but it is a great deal of fun. Expand

This one is not about the action scenes (which there were good doses of) or even gory ones (which there were plenty of), but moreso about the little details of an excellent score including Wham!, the amazing funny borderline rude one liners including a ton of in-movie jokes and the entire self-sarcastic nature of it. So many, in fact, that many lines went right over the heads of the entire audience. Lines that were supposed to be funny sometimes weren't. You would have to have a vast knowledge of pop culture to get all the jokes. Still, many lines were funny. The film has a justified "R" rating, for both language and violence. Ryan Reynolds was terrific in the film and was definitely the right actor for the job. The action sequences, like so many today, are so overly edited that you can't always tell what is going on. I liked the movie, I just didn't think it was quite funny enough to be a classic. Expand

If you are unfamiliar with the character, Deadpool is the outcast of the superhero world. He's got the moves and the abilities, but rarely does or says the right thing, for that matter, he doesn't get along much with anyone either. Ryan Reynolds stars as the not so super hero, and he is literally perfect for the role, it's as if the comic book was written last week with Reynolds specifically in mind, it was that great of a match. There is certainly a ton of hype around the character, the actor, and where it may eventually lead, but the truth is that the story really isn't anything special. I assume the film is meant to be about the character and how funny he is, making the story an after thought, but how can that be in a major motion picture? The film is your typical, guy falls in love, loses his girl because of a bad guy, and then goes looking for revenge, a common theme in every Marvel film. There is nothing different, exciting, or shocking about the story. For the purposes of Deadpool, it's all about the character. He curses, he kills, he makes fun of other Marvel films, and yes he's very funny, but to me, it was also a bit over the top. Since being acquired by Disney, Marvel is trying more and more to appeal to adult audiences and wants to show that its films can be just as bloody and crude as anybody elses, point made. The first time I watched Deadpool, I thought it was a weak story and a little over the top, but the second time I saw it, I thought it was a weak story and really over the top. The bottom line, the character is great, Ryan Reynolds is amazing, there are some great one-liners and laugh out loud moments, but as far as the story goes, it leaves a lot to be desired, as it was predictable, weak, and has been done time and time again. And that's about exactly what I got out of it. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't that great either. The story can be paired at the level of writing to, say, the first Captain America movie which is predictable and pretty uninteresting. The saving grace for this movie is obviously Deadpool himself and the humor that comes with him. I don't think I've audibly laughed out loud at a recent film as much as I did during this movie and who can blame me? Deadpool's character is pretty refreshing for the big screen. So glory be then for a film full of wit and invention that is not a slave to its visual effects. As the masked superhero Ryan Reynolds impudent charm and intuitive delivery of the sharp and, at times, salty dialogue is spot on. Likewise, his asides direct to camera are delightfully amusing, as are the copious character and movie references. In fact the quips come at such a whip cracking pace that on occasion one’s brain can’t keep up resulting in a gag here and there being missed. Some of the dialogue aims for low brow audience appeal, but even here Reynolds manages to save the day with his astute delivery and innate understanding of how to play to the camera. The adult certificate seems to have freed the film from the usual trite situations and juvenile humour that often derails the PG friendly movies, whilst also allowing the film makers not to stint on the sex and gore. Predictable situations are played out unpredictably and it’s fair to say that what we have here turns the super hero movie on its head even if it does seem a little too pleased with itself on occasion. Technically the film delivers the package expected. The editing is fast and furious and the sound blasts you full throttle with every explosion or gunshot unleashed. Music fits nicely into proceedings and there is also some well-chosen pop on the soundtrack. All in all it adds up to an enjoyably slick experience complete with a manageable running time. Let’s just hope that whoever get their hands on the sequel don’t ruin a potentially fresh franchise by dumbing down what we have here. Expand

So this guy in the red suit came and broke some records...

I was not a Deadpool fan and I'm still not, but like any superhero films I'd pleasure watching it. The other reason was, we had other superheroes in our time, so this guy is kind of new to me. It was a stunning launch to the big screen for the Deadpool as well as for this new director. This film was merely an introduction tale than a fully stretched story. Like how a human becomes a mutant and later who seeks a revenge for ruining his natural life. But it yet to explain a couple of things and I hope it all will be revealed in its sequel.

I am happy for Ryan Reynolds to get another chance, because his previous comic book character did not received well. I certainly liked the film, but nowadays there are plenty of superheroes to choose, in that, Deadpool's not in my top 5. So I am happy he joined the 'X-Men', because I never liked the boring 'X-Men' films or its characters, but I do love its spinoff 'Wolverine'. I'll definitely look forward for his solo films like 'Wolverine'.

This film broke a few records like the best box office so far for an 'X-Men' installment. A short film with the present and flashback narration shared the screen piece by piece alternatively. This was a strong R rated film so far I have seen in a superhero theme and there were plenty of other films referred. No offense to the people who liked it (and those who are going watch will do the same), but in my personal opinion it was a bit over-celebrated.

Its a nice rebound for Fox after the Fantastic Four debacle and its also nice to see Ryan Reynolds make something that isn't critically panned as a bad movie. The story is very simple and to the point: Guy meets girl, things go bad, guy gets superpowers and girl gets kidnapped and so on. I'm not saying that like its a bad thing but for this film it works seeing as how this is nothing more than an origin story as Deadpools first movie. The performances, like the movie were solid with Ryan Reynolds carrying the film in one of his more convincing roles that actually makes use of his witty charm. Where Deadpool suffers, however is its script. Deadpools script has many small and somewhat noticeable loopholes as well as suffers from a somewhat dull and lifeless villian in Ajax. The jokes in the movie were also spoiled for me as most of Deadpools punchlines and quibs could be seen in the trailers which I felt hurt the film in more ways than one. Overall, Deadpool is a good movie and I recommend it to those just looking for something fun to watch that could provide a few laughs along the way. Expand

I guess if Ant-Man and of all people can get his own movie (and a
pretty good one at that), then Deadpool can finally get his own movie.
Luckily, Fox bounced back from its monumental flop Fantastic Four last
August with the pretty decent R-rated comic book flick Deadpool. In
Deadpool, Wade Wilson is a mercenary in New York City when he meets a
woman named Vanessa at a local bar. They hook up, and a year later,
Wade pops the question with a ring pop which she accepts. Wade then
collapses and is later diagnosed with terminal cancer. One night at the
bar, he meets a recruiter from a secret program who offers an
experimental treatment for his cancer. Wade declines and leaves, but he
later reconsiders the offer and leaves Vanessa in the middle of the
night to receive the treatment. The procedure involves getting tortured
for weeks on end until a mutation occurs, and Wade is severely
disfigured in the process, although his cancer is cured, and he's
practically immortal. Wade escapes the facility that looks exactly like
the torture chamber in Hostel and vows revenge on the person who did
this to him. Oh, and somehow he's aware that he's in a movie. For all
its intents and purposes, Deadpool is a very fun and sometimes funny
movie, although not all the jokes hit, and it gets a little exhausting
towards the end. The ridiculous, over-the-top violence also makes the
movie unnaturally entertaining for a comic book flick. Hopefully more
R- rated superhero movies are made in the future. Deadpool's ability to
break the fourth wall also makes the film more interesting, but it
causes the plot to suffer somewhat. A lot of the backstory is told by
Deadpool in flashbacks, causing the film to jump around in time a lot.
Deadpool may not be the crowning achievement of comic book movies, but
it's entertaining enough to watch in the theater. I'm sure it'll be the
perfect movie for 12 year old boys' slumber parties after their parents
have gone to sleep.

It seemed that the only thing they emphasized was the humour and I didn't feel anything other than amused. If all the writers focus was equal between creating a captivating storyline and inventing jokes for Deadpool's unwavering wit, I think it would have been better. His jokes and personality basically carried the film with no other characters that seemed to really challenge him. I mean, if this is how it is in the comics, then maybe he's just not for me. I definitely had some good laughs though and the VFX was well done. It was worth seeing Ryan Reynolds fated to play this character. You could really tell how much fun he had and it's admirable. I wasn't really that excited of the upcoming Deadpool film even with their smart advertisements and marketing. And also the studio that ruined the character is funding it.But again I was wrong the film is great.

The movie is fun and enjoyable. With it's R rating this movie doesn't shy away with sex and blood. The movie cuts it's budget fearing of a flop but instead it was a success. The main douchebag Deadpool is well portrayed and true to it's comic counter part with 4th wall breaking and always cracking jokes. The other one were also great they were funny and has some comic relief. The villain is okay but not that great.the plot is much more pf a revenge plot was cliche but because of deadpool's awareness and his offensive jokes are just plain funny .Because Ryan Reynolds wants to do the character justice,it really works.the film is a fresh breathe of air of the superhero genre cause superheroes this days are the same but Deadpool gave us some laughs and new things to the table .The film covers it's flaws and shows its potential.

When the “Too Pool for School” is in action though, seeing him swing his dual wielded katana’s through the spleen of an enemy is truly a wondrous site. Definitely excited for the sequel, which is *SPOILER* apparently going to contain Cable (and hopefully the constant battling voices in Pool’s head). The gruesomely awesome action and adult themes is something Marvel has been missing since the days of Blade, and it is good to have them back. It is definitely worth the watch.

I give it:
70/100. Great, but definitely room for improvement.

A different kind of superhero movie. A little weak in the beginning but picks up later on. Definitely more of a comedy movie than a typical Marvel movie you would expect.

Ahora pasemos a desgranarla.

I found myself with little care for the story and constantly itching to see more of the real Deadpool, but when you saw him, they were some of the most funny and entertaining scenes in any comic book film to date.
