A fun movie for sure, would recommend. Not sure why others were so critical of it. Its just a fun summer action film, its not meant to be taken that seriously.

A two is generous. I like Mr. Foxx in most roles, but this film is absurdly terrible. I know they were going for something over the top, but the dialog and and delivery from all those involved was bottom of the barrel.

This new Netflix original movie stars Jamie Foxx and Dave Franco in a action comedy vampire hunter movie. Right out the gate this movie has a great action piece with Bud played by Jamie Foxx taking on a vampire. The story is pretty simple,This new Netflix original movie stars Jamie Foxx and Dave Franco in a action comedy vampire hunter movie. Right out the gate this movie has a great action piece with Bud played by Jamie Foxx taking on a vampire. The story is pretty simple, Bud who is going through marriage problems and is trying to provide for his daughter all while pretending to be a pool boy but is actually a Vampire hunter. Who is accompanied by Seth played by Dave Franco who is apart of the Vampire Hunters Union. Meanwhile our Villain is trying take over LA with houseing units to have more Vamps move in. I find it interesting that there is a Vampire Hunters Union in this movie, its funny to hear the random guidelines they have to follow and all the rules Bud violated in the past. Also how overly strict they are and its always nice to have a movie with interesting Vampire Lore. The action is top notch in this movie which is to be expected being Directed by J J Perry who has done stunt work and 2nd unit director for tones of action movies. This is his first movie he has directed. This movie has tons of gore and violence, great Vampire kills and its fun to see Jamie foxx take them down. There is alot of vampires getting scorpioned in this movie which is hilarious. If you dont know its when you get ur face slammed so hard into the floor ur legs come up in the back. We do get a brief guest star from one of the best action stars in modern day Scott Adkins playing a Russian Vampire Hunter with Steve Howey playing his brother. The big fight scene that they are in is bad ass. Tons of different kills and one of the coolest reloading's I've seen in movies recently. Wish they were in the movie alot more. We also have Snoop Dogg in this movie playing Big Jon Elliott who is known as a bad ass vampire hunter in his own right. Ima give Snoop props he does a pretty good job in this movie. Also we cant forget the lovely Meagan Good who plays Jamies wife and Zyon who plays his daughter and she does a good job in this as well. Some negatives is the villains motives are alittle weak and not alot of depth to her character. The pee jokes were alittle much, you can have a nervous character and not do that joke. But other then that I had alot of fun with this movie, good jokes, alot of really good action and good chemistry between Jamie and Dave.… Expand

Nonsense Netflix action flick that features above average action. The rest is poor standard and typically generic Netflix crap. The villains couldn't of been worse, the script and arc is exactly what you would expect.

This was a fun ride! The comedy and action had me hooked! I was literally laughing out loud! The vampires are so different and I just want more! I would love to see a sequel of this or even a spin-off with the Nazarian brothers!

A tad too silly and yet not nearly funny as it should be. There are a couple of moments where the action is quite impressive and inventive. Don't believe the trailers, this is a complete piece of garbage. Even Jamie Foxx and Snoop Dogg can't salvage this trainwreck.

Jamie Foxx needed a quick payday and it's a travesty we don't have more of Snoop Dogg. Don't pay to watch this, as it would be more entertaining watching It's A Wonderful Life backwards.… Expand

A good vampire movie. A lot of suspicious, low-score, user reviews, that have clearly not watched the movie. This almost seems par for the course with good Netflix action movies, these days, with the bot army that Disney employ to downvoteA good vampire movie. This almost seems par for the course with good Netflix action movies, these days, with the bot army that Disney employ to downvote their rivals. The movie is a fun, 2 hours romp, that's fairly light but well acted and Jamie Foxx and Dave Franco carry the film from start to finish, without a dull moment. Stay until the end for a nice call back to Lost Boys.
If you're in the mood for a fun vampire flick, this is well above the standard we've seen in recent years.… Expand

I could be benevolent and disregard too many things, but does it make sense? Not really. Not when the movie is that bad. I understand and accept without any problem that for many people this goofy mix will be more than enough for theirI could be benevolent and disregard too many things, but does it make sense? I understand and accept without any problem that for many people this goofy mix will be more than enough for their entertainment, but I found it neither funny, nor amusing. Vampires have become a bland and conventional plot device, even in films like this one that try to give them a twist with their formulas, but not only are they deplorable bad guys for this story, they're just not threatening at all. Jamie Foxx takes it seriously enough, but the rest of the cast doesn't do themselves any favors.
Karla Souza is a lousy villain, while Dave Franco, who's just a few years shy of being 40, is happy to be a buffoon who uses peeing his pants out of fear as a humorous device. Seriously? I honestly had a bad time. All jokes aside about Netflix's current situation, in all honesty the company is just a constant source of disappointment when it comes to movies.… Expand

This movie was very disappointing to say the least, I watched this movie with my family for my son's birthday and the grin on all of our faces quickly faded as this movie let out several unfunny jokes and a clunky, boring story that did not need to be told. Snoop Dogg and his death felt like cheap celebrity canoes. He made an unfunny joke as he died to kill a group of several vampires.… Expand

Unlike Power or whatever Foxx's previous netflix original movie was called - Jaime Foxx manages to carry this movie on his back - but boy oh boy I bet it hurt afterwards.

Much like Bright with Will Smith, the rest of the supporting actors are... bad at their jobs to say the least. The story was uninspired, and a sad attempt at aping an actually good movie (Lost Boys) made in the 80s. The dialogue was cringe worthy at best, and whoever keeps putting Snoop Dogg into movies needs to be slapped, he cannot act at all. If you're starved for any kind of vampire content and have NOTHING ELSE on your list, give this movie a shot. Otherwise, don't bother.… Expand
