Peter Dinklage is the literal force behind this well-made but highly unsatisfying film full of completely unmemorable songs.

· Cosas buenas: la banda sonora (incluso más que la parte musical), el plano formal (dirección, planos...), diseño de producción maravilloso, el vestuario de lo mejorcito y actoralmente no hay ninguna queja.
· Cosas malas: no acaba de encontrar su tono, es algo inestable y baila mucho entre el drama.

· Conclusión: es una buena reversión de la historia para mí, pero creo que eso, no se acaba de encontrar sobre todo en la narración, en el plano formal es una gozada y yo creo que se puede disfrutar bastante.… Expand

Let me state that I am a huge fan of Peter Dinklage, and any body of work in which he participates, is elevated. That said, the music is painfully sophomoric, unimaginative, shapeless, and without any musical merit, whatsoever. Believe Tesseract is the snowflake. The point of the other review was to note there is a time and place for activism and such and it isn't in EVERY movie. Boring moving woke tropes completely out of sync with the REALITY of the time period.Believe Tesseract is the snowflake. However, this lavish period piece production hits the target more often than it doesn't, providing diehard romantics with a generally satisfying movie outing when it comes to exploring the themes of longing and unrequited love. The unfairly criticized musical numbers add a light, airy touch to this story, and, even though they may not be the most memorable compositions in the history of this genre (what musicals these days are?), they're certainly inoffensive and enjoyable enough to merit their inclusion. What's most gratifying about this picture, however, is its fine cast with admirable performances by Haley Bennett, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Ben Mendelsohn and, most notably, Peter Dinklage, who absolutely steals the show. "Cyrano" may not qualify as great cinema, but it's fun, heartrending and easy on the eyes, and there's nothing wrong with a film that can successfully pull that off.… Expand

Interesting take on the well known French play. Dinklage is strong, as always, but the diverse casting and woke tropes simply take the viewer out of the time-period and remind them of today's silly political agendas - 3 stars

Loved it!

Films like 'Cyrano' are not usually my cup of tea, what with the spontaneous singing, dancing et al. but Joe Wright & Co. do it in a way that is simply a pleasure to watch. The whole thing looks splendid, from the sets to theLoved it!

Films like 'Cyrano' are not usually my cup of tea, what with the spontaneous singing, dancing et al. but Joe Wright & Co. do it in a way that is simply a pleasure to watch. The whole thing looks splendid, from the sets to the costumes. The musical numbers, meanwhile, are consistently great throughout.

The cast are excellent. Peter Dinklage is my guy, like everyone I found his performances as Tyrion in 'Game of Thrones' (my favourite character, easily, from that show) to be sensational and have since wanted to support and see his future work - and he didn't let me down here! Haley Bennett and Kelvin Harrison Jr. are very good also, with them both putting in emotive displays. Ben Mendelsohn, although in a smaller role, is memorable too.

This was the first time that I was all alone in the cinema to watch a film, which - as pleasurable as that is for me personally - is hopefully not a bad sign for this 2021 release as it deserves a positive box office taking. With that said, I have since read that the film's official UK release date is tomorrow... so perhaps (hopefully) that is why.

I will say the ending isn't as strong as the rest, though that's me nit-picking as I still thoroughly enjoyed the conclusion - and the rest of the production, for that matter.… Expand

This was actually a very enjoyable film. The production, filmed in Sicily, is dazzling. Even from the trailer, one can see how utterly forced this attempt is to even achieve being in the shadow of the best Cyrano to date, played by Gérard Depardieu.
