I'll be honest, I wasn't a fan of Black Panther even when the comic was first made into a movie. But this sequel is really bad.

The female bias in the film is troubling, as the "man" is portrayed as either a weak complement or a figure ofI'll be honest, I wasn't a fan of Black Panther even when the comic was first made into a movie. But this sequel is really bad.

The female bias in the film is troubling, as the "man" is portrayed as either a weak complement or a figure of fun, otherwise just a testosterone-driven being with very little intelligence.

The obsessive adoption of other MCU elements is also laughable. They compulsively try to implement an "Iron Woman" and ... oh what am I talking about this for so long.

In short: Technically perfectly implemented and as always with clear 3D technology. But the storyline, copying of other MCU elements and this "black style" lead in the end to the fact that you can no longer take the film seriously.

Entertaining entertainment that does not inspire to be watched again.… Expand

While many of these sci-fi/fantasy concepts are very interesting to me, there is little fun to be had in the world presented by marvel here. There are two funerals and constant reminders of 'the message'. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. BP Forever was pretty bad. Although the story starts well with a lot of emotions, it begins to derail after that. First of all the choice of the BP was pretty bad, but that could have been acceptable if Suri didn't make a 360 turn on her character. Forget the fun and likeable girl genius, now it's just a plot device. It was just not credible in that story. The villain motivation to kill one girl, is absolutely stupid and make no sens. Especially when Wakanda acts otherwise. Is this the best writing you have ? Speaking of men, they either look stupid/soft/weak but none are credible. The villain is boring, doesn't have a good delivery and lines, and his look is atrocious. His choices and motivations makes absolutely no sens and are, constantly in contradiction.
The movie has some long moments without any rhythm, also some useless scenes here and there.

The new Black Panther is too slim, in certain angles it looks like an anorexic version of the actress. And I do not think it represent her body at all. The movie is mare into darkness at least in half of it. The acting was passable, but with such poor writing, it's hard to get better. The effects wer very unequal. The water explosions are very good, but the underwater scenes are not convincing. The MCU failed miserably to what DC Aquaman succeeded in underwater scenes. That movie shouldn't been release with such a bad script and broken characters. I give it 33% because of the homage to Chadwick. It's a big deception and I don't see how they can redeem BP and Namor after this movie.… Expand

If Wakanda were a Nazi state, we'd all say how much of a villain state it is. But here, I find the actual worldbuilding and political message spectacular in how ruthless and imperialistic Wakanda became. Let alone how little they care about anybody outside of Wakanda, right? How about billions of Africans less wealthy than they are? Nah, it doesn't matter because Wakanda imperialism forever. I'm pretty sure that this film will be remembered in a few years -- in a wrong way.… Expand

I didn't see the 1st one, but I heard decent things from it. This one however was **** dreadful. This was an awful movie, I just could not get into it, or care about any of the characters. They tried to milk Chadwick Boseman's death as much as possible. I was sceptical of the first movie because of the way Hollywood was marking the movie; I ended up loving it and it became one of my favorite Marvel movies. Ryan Coogler was two for two as far as I was concerned; Fruitvale Station was amazing and Black Panther was too. Coogler insanely became a director I was going to look out for and eventhough some of his work didn't initially grab me, I was gonna seek out everything he had been involved with, then I watched Wakanda Forever. I hate this movie so much. I don't who's fault it is but this movie is a disgrace. I can't believe it made what it did at the boxoffice. Trash. Great trailer. I was super amped. So disappointed. They better revisit how T'Challa died, like it better be a main plot for a future Marvel project, that more is revealed. Like Skrulls killed him or some other big bad. Ironheart didn't belong in this film and those stupid suits Shuri made, so stupid. Also I'm tired of the MCU underpowering and undeserving characters(Namor)!… Expand

What a waste of my time I watched to see where they can take this and left feeling empty there only focuse was to have diversity and strong female leads and every one that is white/men are just irrelevant, namor is atlantean he came before aquaman the excuse that you didn't want fans to get them confused is stupid! you just wanted a reason to race swap or in this case species swap him and you add in how white people did terrible things to his people/land and that's why he hates humans you try to justify his actions by making it relatable but that's just weak/lazy writing and I was supposed connect with shuri and rout for her but why do I feel like I know her less or not at all.… Expand

As a black man, in my 30s, I found this movie rather off putting. The run time is long, most of the action is there simply to try and "spice" up the otherwise boring story, and has no real impact on the story. Story is totally pointless, movie basically ends at the same point it began, whole concept of wakanda is idiotic, at the same point they have frickin flying ships and stuff they are still at the level of the caveman, obviously cpr still didnt progress...
Also during fights they throw guys from Talokan to the water like its a bad thing for them???... Shuri gets spear through her spine but obviously it is no big deal, she can still walk like nothing where on the other side they can't revive someone who just drowned, great logic :P

T'Chaka's death was disrespectful. This is not respectful for Latin men. Too long, a lot of crying women. IronHeart is a big disappointment. Very woke, every MCU hero is now replaced by a less interesting female version.

Overrated and poorly written story. Still a notch above the first Black Panther but then again that was a boring overhyped movie. The movie drags on for awhile with the introduction of Namor with some senseless attack on a ship searching for whatever in the ocean. Later, Namor and his crew attack Wakanda Wakanda offers no real fight with the exception of a few women with their spears. Namor threatens Wakanda that he won’t be as nice next time. Eventually Namor looses in a absurd fight with the new black panther and yes, they become friends. Not worth the price of theater… Expand

WTH dude, the mans final role ever and this is how Disney sends him off?

A certain character's demise is very stupid and seems to be added to evoke a reaction from the audience. Controversies aside, most of the acting here is also very sub-par. Queen Ramonda is played well by Basset, but everyone else falls short. Somehow it feels like a bad Marvel TV show that's been compressed into a movie. It's basically She-hulk but a movie. (Of course Loki is amazing and I wouldn't besmirch that, there still are a few gems among the Marvel slogfest shows)

Might just be me, but I'm feeling burnt out on Marvel. Every movie just feels like an Ad for the next thing. Ironheart in this movie only exists as an Ad for her Disney+ show, there's already a tech genius in the movie, why would you need another one...

Except Shang-Chi and No way home, everything has been painfully mediocre in Phase 4.
Hopefully Kang somehow saves this mess in the next Antman, fingers crossed.… Expand

She also gave Shiri the most literal plot hole armor that can save her from anything, yet no one thought to use that to save another prominent character, or considered what this means for the MCU (practically makes everyone death-proof). But when everyone can be a Hulk AND Thor, gets a free-wish that is as powerful as the entire set of infinity stones, in a universe that will be destroyed by "incursions" when traveling to other universes (which sling rings do), what can you expect. Logic, heck even common sense is too restrictive for the people at Disney Marvel.… Expand

I really wanted to like this movie, but it was so damned boring. None of the characters could really fill T'Challa's shoes. This was one of the longest movies I have seen and it was not worth it. This was written like it should have been a short TV series. 3 episodes at best.

The acting was OVERKILL! Seriously women? You are all better actors than what you portrayed!

The so-called special effects were beyond terrible. The water bomb timing was way off. Doesn't anyone watch and edit movies anymore?

This was an insult to the original Black Panther actor. (Sorry I can't remember his name off the top of my head.) He should have been replaced. If they didn't want to replace him - they could and should have - given him a warrior's death! Why show how he died in real life? (Cancer I believe.)

I'm proudly married - they didn't agree with that!
I am a proud mother of sons - they don't agree with that!
I respect ALL - they sure as HELL do not!
Women and men are equal - not in this movie!

Are my expectations too high because I bought and read the comics? Is this not meant for people who read the comics?

Killing T'challa was de worst thing MCU ever made. Coogler didn't do justice to the character in Black Panther 1, but in this movie it appears he chose as his mission to destroy the character. The Killmonger thing in the ancestral plane was so disrespectful to T'challa. The presence of Riri Williams was unnecessary. Meanwhile, Wakandan characters like Ayo, Aneka and M'Baku had almost no screentime. This filme was a disaster for me.… Expand

Painfully overrated and needlessly long. The cast tries but the dialogue here is clumsily written and poorly put together. Also, Why was this movie so dark!? You couldn't make anything out in the majority of the night scenes.

I'm sorry for the actor dead but tbh killing the character was not the best/smartest movement. Our beloved hero dies off screen!!!! They could give us an epic final battle, but they way they do it off screen is very poorly executed.

The worst part was Ironheart ... with this and shows like she-hulk they are destroying the MCU.… Expand

Another Marvel Pander Fest.
The first Black Panther was an Ok film. I found it typical and boring and over inflated. This film follows suit in just about every standard. The only real difference here is that it is all female driven and packedAnother Marvel Pander Fest.
The first Black Panther was an Ok film. I found it typical and boring and over inflated. This film follows suit in just about every standard. The only real difference here is that it is all female driven and packed full of unnecessary gunk. Character reveals and sloppy CGI.
Now don't confuse that with the films look. It looks great if you are into green screen flat computer renderings and questionable lighting choices and angles to hide errors and or laziness.
Then there is the elephant in the room. The whole film is centered around paying homage to a man who unfortunately left the scene To early. He was talented and carried the character with respect and strength. But here is 2 + hours of praising him like he was Sidney Poitier, which he wasn't. If you want a super hero movies and preach eulogy all at the same time with some silly ankle wings thrown in in for eyerolls, by all means go for it.
If you want to go home feeling good after the experience skip it.… Expand
