Honestly, Avengers: Endgame was a pretty good movie. I think that it was a bit lengthy and some parts felt rushed while others felt dragged on, but overall the humor and action sequences were great. A small scale film can have the same writing / plot as a trillion dollar show. There are so many ridiculous things. Its like they forced all these fights, like why did thanos come into the future? Because some robot got some recording from that same robot? Why did that robot and the green daughter turn good? Im not sure. So many whys. What are all these people man. Clearly the best part of the movies is the visuals and cast. Seems like this movie is a wet dream for a marvels fan - can't say I really get it. I felt like the first 1.5 hours was just a parody / joke from the writing to the absurd transitions. Stark be like, year particle do that AI, :O woah! Cool lets do it. Also, deaths in this movie mean jack. Cool, you died vision? Let me bring you back. Cool you guys got snapped. Cool lets bring em back. Cool stark, you got stabbed and the dramatic music is playing? Cool just throw some cheese wiz on it. I really didn't care, and I was just watching this movie in the background while playing a game. Like irl, life is meaningless without death - take away that then you have nothing. I think my favourite part of this movie - like the 2012 film is the actual assemly of the avengers - seeing the return of everything. Also, unlimited enemies makes any combat just fan service, like cool, hero music plays some person comes in and defeats some guys - o k. Tbf, this movie is the ultimate ad for other movies. Why does tony die at the end? You clearly would have won the war if thanos doesnt have the stones - is it just to kill off a main character and get emotions? What's with this girl empowerment team. No one cares bro. Also i have no idea who the short haired ugly super hero girl is with the orange aura around her - really makes this whole movie so dog. So much ego for what? Because marvel doesn't know how to balance powers? Boring film with some decent fighting and character progressions.… Expand

As what I didn't like let's be honest there are a lot of plot holes and contrivances with this movie. But I feel that was inevitable as it is a movie about time travel. Also, I'm not a big fan of what they did with Thanos as he felt more like a CGI character than the well fleshed out character he was in Infinity War. But anyways this movie really was a beautiful send-off and really nice love letter to all these beloved characters. The nostalgia I felt and the strong emotions I felt when watching this movie were great. The final fight at the end was some of the best action out of any comic book movie. And the way it ended the two main superheroes Tony Stark and Steve Rogers was very well done. This is a flawed but satisfying conclusion to the MCU.… Expand

Things that shouldn't be in a sequel of a movie with the darkest finale ever.
It's slow, full of stupid gags, characters like thor and hulk completely wasted and ruined.

Everything go as you expect:

the plan: go back in time, get the stones, bring everyone back
What happen: go back in time, get the stones, bring everyone back...OOPS past Thanos discover by LUCK everything, with the other one dead was OBVIOUS the past one would have entered.

Past Thanos stronger than the one with GODLY POWERS, Black Widow die and everyone don't even care, the scene with the girls...not the expected movie after infinity war.
The only good part is the perfect arc-ending of the character of Captain America… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Avengers: Endgame is a league of its own, and is my second favorite MCU movie. This movie, which marked the grand culmination of the MCU and the Infinity Saga, is a work of art that is probably a once in a decade occurrence. Endgame is a long movie, and rightfully so since it had a lot to do in that runtime. What’s beautiful about the film though is that it manages to do all of that perfectly while delivering a lot of fan service moments and callbacks. Endgame is filled with references to previous MCU installments, but works them into the story beautifully so that the movie doesn’t feel like it was made only for fan service. The filmmakers understood that they needed to progress the MCU and reach the conclusion of the Avengers conflict with Thanos at the same time as wanting to remind us of some notable moments from previous movies. From it’s opening scene to its conclusion, Endgame is an emotional rollercoaster that grips you and never lets you go. There are funny moments, sad moments, happy moments and pretty much every kind of moment you can think of. Certain characters are given fantastic moments to shine and go through amazing arcs that show us how much they’ve changed since we first met them, and we get to see sides of them that we haven’t seen before; certain actors give probably their best performance as their character yet. Many of Marvel’s casting choices paid off immensely in this movie. The action is unbelievable and gives us an idea of what Marvel is capable of with fight sequences. The big battle of this movie gives the Wakanda one from Infinity War a run for its money. The script and directing are also phenomenal and help make the whole movie flow very smoothly. It’s also nice to see certain actors reprise their roles from previous films, especially ones we haven’t seen in a while. Endgame has a satisfying ending and great conclusion but still leaves plenty of room for storytelling and development, stuff we’ve seen recently with Disney+ shows. Thanos remains an intimidating villain in this movie and shows just how smart and powerful he can be when he needs to, giving another uncommon example of when a villain is allowed to reprise their role. There are times in Endgame where the continuity is questionable, but those times aren’t very disruptive and are completely overshadowed by the good moments in the movie. At the end of the day, Endgame is a movie about failure and how it can impact people differently, but also about what it means to be a team and what you can achieve with teamwork and unity. I finally watched this movie. And I came away terribly disappointed. Infinity War barely held its story together and allowed some characters to shine. It jumped from one set of heroes to another entirely different set not once or twice but several times. They kept changing the nonsensical time-travel rules to fit whatever the writers wanted to happen next. There was never any core group of lead characters for the viewer to latch onto and to actually care about. This unfocused and nonsense ruined any feelings of danger or threat. So, when the strongest women in the universe saved the day I no longer cared. Blow the Earth up! Who cares! They'll just go back in time again and start over. Maybe with better writing.… Expand

I stopped watching marvel movies because of Endgame.

I’ve had enough of the MCU. I stopped watching after Ironman and black widow died, Thor retired to go play fortnite (that is not a joke, that is real), and Captain America, the only level headed Avenger left, went back to the past to live out his life with the woman he loves... AND NOT TELL ANYONE WHAT HAPPENS IN THE FUTURE FOR THE NEXT 50 YEARS! Seriously, why didn’t he say anything to Shield all that time, this whole time we’re suppose to believe that their were 2, and at some point 3, Captain America’s that all existed at the same point in time, and he knew what was going to happen years before it actually happened. He could’ve prevented much of the death and disasters that occurred as a result of the events in previous movies, but also better prepared the Avengers by telling them about Thanos years before he got the stones. You would think he would do something like this, but you’d be wrong...

There is so much history with these characters... whereas with Falcon, Valkyrie, and... Captain Marvel, they feel kind of like they're known as the side kicks of these superheroes, and therefore don’t hold as much weight as the big 3 imo. Which is a big deal to me because they’re being set up to be the new big 3 in the coming next generation and... Marvel has given me zero reason to care for these characters. I don’t expect them to ever carry as much weight as the OG’s, but they could’ve at least devoted a little more time and character development on these characters and making them as likable as possible.

So are they just going to ignore the events of Civil War? Because they did not even mention it at all throughout endgame. It would’ve been at least nice if Tony Stark and kept in America acknowledge that the Civil War happened. Nope, Tony Stark just gives captain his shield back and they just move on with their lives. About Black Widows death:

Her death was the same as Gamora’s death. She cracked her skull on pavement a died instantly. And her body was never recovered so they can’t give her a proper burial. I hardly call that a fitting end to a beloved character. You ever wonder why the Russo’s put Hawkeye and Black Widow together? What if they didn’t have a close friendship? Then what? Then they couldn’t get the crystal. And that’s what bothers me about that part, it felt forced in a way. After all the plot devices that held us in disbelief, that brought characters back, why does this have to be the exception? It just feels like bad writing to me.

Gamora dying is going to be such a strange thing the Guardians will HAVE to bring up in their new movies, because the Russo's have essentially reset Gamora's character, and if they don't acknowledge that, then what a huge waste of a life that is.

I can’t.... it gets me infuriated just talking about it. I am so jaded and numb about the way the original avengers departed, I just don't care about the MCU anymore... And it sucks. I was sorely disappointed by Endgame and it soured my appreciation for ALL of the other MCU movies that preceded it... What a horrible way to end.

This movie is a mixed bag, it's got great visuals and some nice eye candy from VFX. It's not really enjoyable to anyone who hasn't watched the other marvel movies. And the story decisions are pretty baffling.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm not interested in reading Marvel comics at all. There are some like Deadpool and Spider-Man which I love to take a look occasionally, and I have every single Black Panther comic on my Comixology (although I have only read one of them), but other than that I have absolutely no attachment to any other Marvel superhero. And yet when I watched Avengers: Endgame, I could actually feel like this is something of my dream coming true. This is something I really needed and because of this I can say I have really seen histroy getting created in comic book movies.

The CGI of this movie is absolutely intense. Every nerd's dream is to see a cast assembly of their favourite franchise characters on the big screen played by actors in live action, filled with CGI. And this movie absolutely does it. This happening in the first two Avengers movies or Josstice League didn't feel too intense since there weren't many characters, but over here there are tons of them. And that made it look really badass.

We also get to revisit all the old MCU movies and have the nostalgia of those scenes. There is an emotional scene of Tony meeting his father, but most of them are funny like Hulk smashing the cars and Starlord singing Come Get Your Love from the opening scene of Guardians of the Galaxy. The fight scene between the two Captain Americas and Nebulas was decent, but the fact that they actually chose to add them when they could have gotten away really seems nice.

And then finally we have what we waited for in the last 3 hours. Iron Man, Captain America and Thor come together to fight Thanos. Thor looks so cool when he has lightning in his eyes. The fight scene of all three of them together against Thanos looked so well choreographed without any jump cuts, it didn't even feel like an MCU movie. And finally when all the portals open, Captain America finally says the fabled "Avengers Assemble" that we all had been waiting for to hear in the last 7 years.

Though there are many things about this movie that I didn't like at all. First of all, Black Widow's death. I really hate Black Widow. She seems to have some sort of a plot armour around her. Throughout the entire MCU I never saw her getting beaten even once. And she fights every cool looking bad guy with 1000 jump cuts. I had heard about her death being in this movie, so I was really excited to see her finally get whooped. But even then she died BY BEATING Hawkeye. She doesn't even have the decency to take a beating. Sorry Black Widow, I think I'm never gonna like you.

My next problem comes with Ant-Man's return. A mouse? Seriously? I get MCU is supposed to be a family movie franchise but this went a little too far. It could have been something better, like Scott finding something inside the quantum field that allows him to control space and time which could later be used to gather the Infinity Stones. Then I also have a problem with the Thanos army attacking the Avengers HQ. They have such heavy weapons, and they can't even make past a force field before Hulk uses the Infinity Gauntlet? And finally my problem comes with that all-female scene. It was so cringy! I don't know much if people probably like such scenes, but why was it needed at all? It's not like anyone was looking forward to it. With all that said, I have no other problem with this movie.

In my opinion Avengers: Endgame should have been the last movie of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Making more movies completely undermines the point of this movie. It is supposed to be a culmination of everything that has ever happened throughout the franchise. Now making more movies at this point is just blatant cash grabbing. I really hope that Disney decides to start Phase 4 from scratch, since it's becoming hard to keep track of all the MCU movies at this point.… Expand

Some questionable character choices, a lack of stakes, and some uneven pacing are dramatically overshadowed by the payoffs and fan service that rewards you for being on the journey rather than feeling pretentious.

I did like the movie, but... I really did not like the time-travel aspect. I think it works in some movies but I couldn't get into the whole time-travel thing in this one.
