The only reason I wanted to watch this was for Neil Patrick Harris (gay adjacent), but turns out he plays a father recounting his childhood story, so he’s not on camera a lot. The focus is on his 10-year-old self in 80s Chicago, when he wanted a new Nintendo for Christmas. If you read this and think, “This sounds like Christmas Story,” you’d be right. It has the same rembunctuous energy and slightly wacky group of friends and family to add some character fun. On the down side, it’s not especially funny or clever, but for families looking for something new for the Holidays, this should work.… Expand
