TheThis film was undeniably funny and arguably better than its predecessor, which I must say is somewhat impressive, considering it's not quite as raunchy as the first. The jokes and crazy gags in this film are what really hit home with me. The film's self-aware attitude, much like in the first film, was really fun to watch. The bromance between Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum also worked nicely once again. The plotline pretty much feels the same from the first film, the only difference being that they're in college instead of high school this time. However, the film still manages to come up with great and honest new laughs that make up for that. Overall, if you loved or even just enjoyed the first film, this one will likely please you. Also, stick around for a funny end-credit sequence as well as one last brief scene at the very end of the credits. Expand

Review:
Pro:There were some really silly and funny bits. The film had also satirised several themes from other films. The end credits were funny up til the point where they start to repeat itself.
Cons: It was very much, style over substance. Tatum has one facial expression and cannot act. The satirising of other films would have been great, if the timing was better and Tatum acting better. The last act has major loopholes where all the major characters converged in the same building when they were at different locations just a while ago and did not seemed to be heading towards this building. The editing and continuity of the film are problematic.
3/5 - Good enough to watch it for free on TV only.

These movies are more or less identical. The characters, themes, and stories between the two movies are more or less the exact same, the only major difference being that one takes places in high school and the other in college.
In most cases this would be a bad thing. However, given that 21 Jump Street was hilarious, you can be certain that 22 Jump Street will also be hilarious.
The humor throughout this movie is just the same as the first, and that's just great. If you are in the mood to laugh your ass off, go see 22 Jump Street.

Definitely much better than I thought it was going to be, not a hangover 2 situation, but most certainly not as good as the first

Pros:The chemistry between Hill and Tatum still shines, Ice Cube is even funnier in this one, the second half of the movie is great, the drug trip, the Hill/Ice Cube interactions, self referential, the end credits.

Cons: Jillian Bell is annoying and not funny, the first half of the movie is kinda boring for a while, the gay jokes get old fast.

Overall I thought 22 Jump Street was decent and it's worth a watch if you're a fan and want a good laugh.

A must see, Very funny and clever.
One of the best comedy of the year.

It makes us wonder if they are going to make a new one. This one was definitely better than the first one.

The chemistry between the actors is so effective and sometimes heartwarming, most of the movie is a laugh out loud fest, and it is not overfilled with raunchiness and crudeness, it is surprisingly heartwarming despite using the same formula used in its predecessor. Jenko & Schmidt are undercover cops, who after the success of busting out drug dealers in High School, they are out looking to bust drug dealers in college, it is obviously the same. But it is all about how they handle the movie or under handle the movie, in this case the sequel is as good as the first if not carrying some scenes more effectively, for ex: the action sequences which are tense. Jonah Hill & Channing Tatum are really great in the movie, Ice Cube is hilarious in this movie, the best part so far, and the end sequence is actually really funny and very creative. 22 Jump Street is as good and hilarious as the first film, at some parts better but formulaic and copies off the first, "for goodness sakes I saw the twist coming!" but it is still a fun and over the top, if you liked the first one you will also appreciate this one, it is the perfect movie for the weekend. It was funny in a similar, yet different kind of way than 21 Jump Street was, and didn't suffer from a lot of the repetitiveness or tired jokes that plague other sequels.
While the plot was similar, the movie realizes this and basically makes it into a running joke throughout the whole movie.
Overall, I'd highly recommend this movie.

The first half of 22 Jump Street is fresh and laugh-out-loud hilarious. But then movie resorts to clichés and becomes repetitive in the second half. But all in all, it is a silly, self-referential riot that is a great way to kick off the summer.

Even though its self-referentiality may become tiring to a point, "22 Jump Street" still hauls the gut-busting laughs and poignant glances at friendship in at a solid and enjoyable rate.

Really?" it kinda felt like it was rehashing the first movie a little bit. but all that aside, like i said: "22 Jump Street" is the most hysterical buddy-cop comedy we got so far this year. and i'll be damned if this wasn't better than the first movie, cause yea it was better and funnier. (with the most hysterical end credits ever!) Expand

They also mine lots of comedy from the bromance aspects of their partnership. Tatum is even more hilarious with his thick-headed dumbness. Toss in some enjoyable supporting characters and fun action sequences. It rarely happens, but it seemed like this was better than the original. It's a genuinely funny movie. It has moments where it's hilarious, but then runs with gags that aren't very funny. When I say runs with them, I mean ten minutes of the same gag that just isn't funny. It reminds me of this is the end. I'm giving it the same score for a reason. The jokes are funny at parts but other gags are just god awful. This is the end has moments where it's ten times funnier than anything in 22 jump street, but the quantity of gags is more in this one. Overall I should have seen HTTYD. 6.5 Expand

Channing Tatum and Ice Cube steal the show, while Jonah Hill comes off as less memorable. Not only is this movie hilarious, but it's also clever with its character dynamics between Tatum and Hill. They are so different in every way, but their bond make them inseparable. This is put on display perfectly when we meet their dorm room neighbor twins, but it's what makes them so lovable. Watching them share screen time together is a treat for everyone. I enjoyed this movie just as much as the first, and I recommend this movie to anyone that isn't offended by foul language and sexual jokes. Expand

But 22 Jump Street is not a good movie, it's a great movie. Yes, the underlying plot is the same as 21 Jump Street, but the comedic tone is far more sure-footed, masterfully playing with the idea of a sequel. Not only are Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill at the top of their game, but the supporting cast is brilliant, and each gets an opportunity to shine, especially Jillian Bell whose performance alone is worth the price of admission. Not every gag is a home run, some are just doubles or triples, but there are no strikeouts and a few, like Ice Cube's tantrum, Hill's fist fight and the credits, are World Series worthy. Destined for the comedy hall of fame. Expand

It succeeds in avoiding redundancy of a sequel, which the movie itself points out, and brings enjoyable foolhardy yet sufficiently clever humor. Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum is a great couple, half of the jokes are on their expenses. Plenty of romance analogy delivered in staggeringly serious way, while the rest of it is over-the-top comedy. Script is smart, bordering on improvised banter, and it neatly pokes on popular culture.

Commendably, the movie sneers at some of the clichés, even those that it uses. This opens up many opportunities as it practically makes jokes of, and on, itself. Plot follows Jenko (Tatum) and Schmidt (Hill) into a college for the search of another drug. While some scenes might be a bit inflated, it keeps the humor grounded without resorting to forced slapstick. Hill and Tatum have great chemistry together, with tons of relationship jokes, they boast their acting prowess by keeping straight faces on what must be pretty ungraceful scenes.

Screenplay feels fast and tight, scenes don't overstay their welcome as it keeps churning jest at consistent pace. Action sequences are watered down and cynical remarks of those used in stereotypical action flicks. While they may be slightly predictable, the movie keeps these anticipated scenes fresh. Some events are unbelievably cartoon-like, down to the use of visible effect, but it's forgivable considering the movie produces humor literally until the end credit.

22 Jump Street possesses a rich sense of humor that will appeal to mainstream audience while also maintaining the adequate level of sophistication. Despite what it quips in the spirit of self-awareness, this sequel is as good, or even better than its predecessor.

Without spoiling anything, for the the most funny moments of the film is that the movie is really self aware of who they are and how Hollywood likes to milk every single thing that is successful (plus Ice Cube is really hilarious, oh man those texts messages). It is a nice summer movie, the only thing it can stop of enjoying this movie is the other people at the theatre who laugh harder than the dialogue of the movie...anyway...pretty good movie, if you enjoyed the first one, this one is a must, if you didn't like the first one, don't approach this one, the formula hasn't change.
