They have done an amazing job of re-creating the intense thrill of being out in the ocean in large surf. I know from experience. The very first time I started a session with the game I got butterflies in my stomach.
-
You can actually feel one with the waves as the water elegantly moves your board across the serene, beautifully created ocean.
-
The first intelligent, hardcore, devilishly addictive -- and best -- surfing game on the planet, to date.
-
It's really the only truly fun surfing game I have experienced in the last 10 years!
-
The gameplay is solid, despite the Pro Tour mode's complete lack of originality.
-
The first good surfing game.
-
Official Xbox MagazineQuite possibly the most inventive, accessible, and incredibly fun surfer ever. [Dec 2001]
-
Yes, I was surprised that the Xbox had this as a launch game, but after experiencing its easy controls and beautiful graphics, my opinion was changed.
-
It's a huge step in legitimizing surfing games, much like how THPS was for skateboarding games. The graphics are very impressive, the controls tight, and the wave physics accurate.
-
All previous surfing games have sucked. But where theyve sunk, Transworld Surf rises up to float across the perfect wave.
-
Easily the most graphically impressive, deepest, and by and large most enjoyable surfing game to be released yet.
-
The action is as close as it can get to the real thing.
-
From the music to the finer details, TransWorld Surf allows you to really immerse yourself in the environment. The music soundtrack is very well done and probably one of the best I have seen in any game.
-
The game is still fun to play while respecting the limits of physics and surfboards.
-
The water effects and movement of the waves are brilliant and great at capturing the feel of the waves as you balance precariously on them or pull yourself over them to get to the next breaker out there.
-
If youre a true surfer, I would think that this game would be a must have. People who enjoy other board games will also rate this game very high.
-
A very nice looking game that sports huge waves, great water effects and the surf girls that bring you back to the wave.
-
It manages to float where others have sunk and breaks the trend of garbage surfing games by offering decent if somewhat limited fun.

UterJul 31, 2004Admitedly it is a tough assignment making a surfing game fun, but here I don't think they succeeded.
