While the graphics took a small hit in the PS2 version, they have managed to tweak the control to near perfection.
-
The wave graphics are solid; the soundtrack is marvelous; and, most importantly, the game play is tight and intuitive.
-
I do like this game, and I feel that if a few problems are fixed, it could rank up there with the Tony Hawks, and the Aggressive Inlines of the extreme world.
-
The PS2 doesn't look very good compared to the Xbox version, but it actually plays a whole lot smoother, thanks to better tuned collision detection, smoother moves animations, and a much better sense of speed.
-
It's not going to take home any awards for visuals, nor is it a "Tony Hawk" killer in any way, but it proves to be an enjoyable and challenging surfing game with considerable replayability.
-
Multiplatform gamers should be playing it on the Xbox.
-
Neither TransWorld Surf nor "Sunny Garcia" tap the videogame potential of surfing as far as the "Dave Mirra"/"Mat Hoffman"/"Tony Hawk" franchises pushed the interactive representations of their respective sports.
