The GC version gets a better graphics boost than the Xbox counterpart, but both versions pack the same great gameplay.
-
The Xbox version of The Sims trades the PC versions precise control for much improved presentation and more directed gameplay.
-
While The Sims isnt a totally radical departure from its PC origins, the Xbox version scores just a tad higher than on the other console version Ive played, the GameCube, because of its slightly better graphics, more comfortable controller, and easier game save system on the built-in Xbox hard drive.
-
Wildly addictive and simply unbelievable.
-
This console version makes enough changes to the original game that even hard-core "Sims" purists will want to give it a spin.
-
Fortunately, or perhaps unfortunately, The Sims is otherwise extremely faithful to the gameplay of the original game, shortcomings and all, and it's more or less identical to the PS2 game.
-
Most home computer gamers will find this version of The Sims to be a novel diversion, but they will eventually return to their monitors and keyboards for the easy, open-ended play that is only available there.
