  1. It can be too repetitive at times and too easy for gamers looking for challenge. However, the spooky theme and familiar Disney settings will make Haunted Mansion an enjoyable diversion for many.

It's downright spooky how well this one turned out. [Dec/Jan 2004, p.87]
  3. The game expertly blends physical—mostly platforming—challenges with cerebral puzzles and, in the process, keeps players guessing throughout.

While the title can offer up some disappointingly repetitive objectives, there are still some smart puzzles interspersed and control is relatively tight.
  5. Between its overall solid presentation, and its gameplay that keeps you guessing, this is one game that's worth taking a look at.
  6. Aside from a LOT of backtracking and annoying (rather than challenging) events, it's a solid game and worth a look. It's easy to pick up and get going.
  7. The artists and developers did a great job of capturing the essence of a vast, empty mansion. Every room is well detailed with the flavor of a dusty, cobweb infested, untouched house.
  8. The presentation is strong, and there are some genuine moments of surprise - most memorably a scene that shrinks your character down and places you on a life-sized pool table. [Feb 2004, p.109]
  9. One of those games that keeps you coming back to finish it despite it’s simplistic gameplay, due mostly to clever puzzle design. It uses a simple formula that provides straightforward action and adventure elements in a spooky, but kid-friendly setting.
  10. The game is a little on the easy side. Ok, a lot on the easy side if you’re good with puzzles but not too hard for kids and of course it suffers the fate of all puzzle games; When you’ve solved them once, there is no challenge in solving them again.

From bedrooms containing clever and mysterious moving panels to a 'Land of the Giants'-style pool challenge, each section delivers something new and exciting to motivate deeper exploration. [Apr 2004, p.110]
  12. I'm giving this game three stars, because even though it's not perfect, It's better than having a babysitter who touches you.
  13. Play Magazine

The story is way overdone and weighs down the gameplay..., and convoluted specifics of progression are unnecessary given the game's linear structure. [Nov 2003, p.93]

You go around and suck ghosts out of their hiding spots in a cartoony mansion. The scares are the fun kind you might expect in something like Scooby Doo. While the game's surprisingly polished for an obscure title, the gameplay is pretty repetitive. Full Review »

This game is very solid...a lot more so than I would have expected. I rented it the other day but it has quickly moved to my "must buy" list!
