Cheat Code CentralAnything but old school. It possesses a life of its own which is altogether unique, otherworldly and strangely believable.
-
Aside from some small rough spots, Syberia is a superb adventure with an engrossing story, a truly imaginative gameworld, and stunning visuals.
-
Official Xbox MagazineLavish graphics and cinematic cutscenes are worth the $19.99 price tag alone, and though a couple of annoying bugs exist, it's a mature, intelligent journey that will entice any true adventure fan. [Nov 2003, p.124]

Syberia is not a great game, but it tells a great story, despite its translation hiccups.
-
On a rudimentary gameplay level, Syberia is an average adventure game with average puzzles. But dig a little deeper and you'll find an experience that evokes a somber mood that stays with you long after you've finished playing.
-
The designers have nailed the graphics and sound presentation down to perfection, but the less-than-compelling story, and simplistic puzzles will have most adventure aficionados yawning after a few hours.
-
Overall, Syberia ended up being one hell of an experience from beginning to end. I wish I could recommend this game for all, but as stated above this style of game isn't for everyone.
-
This game ultimately requires persistence and patience. No brain busting puzzles here. Just make sure not to skip over key pieces of dialogue or clues or else you will find yourself running in circles.
-
Some may be put off by the rate at which you go, but those interested in pure story and puzzles will find a little piece of Heaven in Syberia.
-
Probably the biggest structural flaw behind Syberia is the poor control implementation. Plain and simple, controlling Kate is a bit of chore.
