Shrinks the field, boosts the action and scoring, and its multiplay makes for a party that's even more fun than passing around pitchers in a sports bar at seven in the morning.
-
Even punters of the GameCube version will find a host of new options in this Xbox incarnationmost notably extra players and multiplayer games.
-
Xbox owners interested in a fast-paced, funny sports game with plenty of personality and deceptively deep gameplay shouldn't think twice about picking up Soccer Slam.
-
Because of its simplicity, it doesn't take much sports knowledge to pick up and play, and that's a major reason why I loved it.
-
Soccer Slam is fast and it arrives with enough personality to even appeal to all you jaded Americans who still think soccer is for moms and your little brother.
-
Ain't half bad. Soccer Slam scores a goal for anyone looking for some lighthearted action
-
At first glance, it appears to be a shallow, silly game with lots of action and eye candy. But it's also a relatively complex sports game requiring just the right mix of skill and reflexes.
-
Better than Midways "RedCard," and more violent than the average ice hockey game, Sega Soccer Slam is pure arcade fun, albeit not very long-lived.
-
A refreshing change from FIFA et al. It is easy to get into but addictive enough to keep you coming back for more.
-
Although it could use a tad more variety regarding game options, it's a brilliant start to the franchise and one of Xbox's best single-machine multiplayer games.
-
Play MagazineTHe matches are totally chaotic and a little bit out of control, but the game is an absolute blast to play, far more like an arcade game than most modern sports titles. [Sept 2002, p.73]
-
Official Xbox MagazineThe look of the game is quite stylized, and it works very well, while learning the controls takes little time. [Oct 2002, p.108]
-
Its only real problem is the fact that it isn't a whole lot different from "NHL Hitz."
-
Game InformerAbysmal AI for the goalies. [Sept 2002, p.88]
-
Xbox Nation MagazineThe world's videogame players require this monstrosity like they need an extra hemorrhoid, a tattoo of child actor Emmanuel Lewis on their buttocks, and the director's cut of "The Adventures of Ford Fairlaine." [Fall 2002, p.119]

JimAug 9, 2007The best sports game on xbox, but hard to get your hands on it these days. If you can find it get it. (works on 360 also).
