While the PS2 version retains the over-the-top gameplay and appealing characters, the game's visual quality has been compromised somewhat by a fluctuating frame rate, slightly less-detailed textures, and washed-out colors that take away from the game's visual style.
-
Sluggish graphics bog down what would have been an otherwise great title.
-
Unfortunately, the PS2 port of this title suffers from a blurry visual presentation and occasional slowdown that is not present in the Xbox or Gamecube version.
-
[The PS2 version] delivers less shine and crispness than the others, it offers a jumpy framerate, and the difficult icon system makes it confusing as to which player is yours in a multiplayer game.
-
Quite disappointing. It's choppy framerate, second rate graphics, and bland textures affect both gameplay and fun factor. These characters have character, and it simply doesn't show up on the PS2 version.
-
TotalGames.netEssentially SEGA Soccer Slam fails to hit all the marks a fun arcade football game should hit and indeed were hit by Midways superior RedCard. If its a solid and fun arcade kick-about youre after then plump for Midways game as Soccer Slam is best avoided.
