With downloadable content, 12 playable modes, TONS of unlockables as well as character stat customization, custom sound tracks, Dave attel's voice, tournaments and a tracking system with so much details I'm almost ashamed that people can view my stats.
-
The characters in the game look incredible with a lot of detail and animation. The animations get repetitive after a while, but they are very smooth; and sometimes bust-out-loud funny.
-
TotalGames.netThe most impressive new additions are in the course design. The developer has really got the hang of how to build holes and the overall presentation is polished to the point where you could mistake it for an EA Big title.
-
What I didn't expect was how awesome the online component of this game is. All of the matches were lag free and there are more game modes and gameplay options than a good portion of the Live games out there.
-
Like it says on the box, Outlaw Golf 2 is lewd and crude, but a whole lot of fun.
-
The gameplay is easily as deep and challenging as "Links" and "Tiger Woods." Those games are traditional, while Outlaw Golf is irreverent and usually bawdy enough that it's best avoided by the faint of heart.
-
Play MagazineOn top of being genuinely funny, taking stabs at the game's hysterically exaggerated stereotypes, it's a great game of golf too. [Oct 2004, p.89]
-
The biggest change in the sound is the addition of Comedy Central's Dave Attell as the announcer. He does a great job, but his list of comments is so short that you end up getting sick of hearing the same old jokes over and over again about 30 minutes into the game.
-
This is certainly the most "fun" you can have with a golf game. It's fun and realistic with a wonderful cast of wild, crazy, and often naughty characters.
-
Official Xbox MagazineFor a game that's meant to be a goofy and irreverent take on the usually stuffy golf world, Outlaw Golf 2 is a surprisingly good golf sim. [Nov 2004, p.77]
-
Cheat Code CentralFor 19.99 OG 2 is a blast to play on or offline. For those old enough to play it lives up to the rest of the other Outlaw titles.
-
It's nice to see that Hypnotix didn't miss a beat when it came to staying true to the attitude of the original.
-
Outlaw Golf 2's golf gameplay isn't stellar but the game more than makes up for this by the sheer variety of modes available, the unique and ultimately loveable (if a bit scary) character lineup, Xbox Live support and of course, the $20 price tag.
-
A solid title and one that is perhaps better to play with mates or over Xbox Live if you are connected to the service.
-
The humour may wear thin pretty quickly, but underneath it all is a compelling, enjoyable golf experience that will appeal to newbies and golf nuts alike- the scantily clad women help too!
-
But for a golf game that clearly doesn't take itself seriously, it has solid gameplay elements and a ton of modes to keep you busy, plus great Xbox Live support.
-
This outing is more rounded than the original and has more choice - such as eight courses to play compared with only three in the original - and at £17.99 it is good value.
-
Dave Attell, the famed comedian and host of Comedy Central's "Insomniac" show provides the color-commentary, and while it does eventually get repetitive, it's pretty funny. He fits the game nicely.
-
There is one thing to take into consideration, and that is the $19.99 price tag! Combine that with the solid gameplay and decent graphics, and any fan of the original should definitely go pick this game up.
-
The controls for playing this game are really easy to use and work really well. The only thing is if you just slightly move the stick to the left or right during a swing it could cause havoc on your shot just like real life.
-
So even if bawdy caricatures of rednecks and dominatrices don't sound immediately appealing to you, Outlaw Golf 2 offers a tight, challenging game of golf with some unique gameplay ideas, and it comes at a price that makes it a terrific value.
-
Game InformerThe humor is certainly there, but Hypnotix really needs to get the polish onto this simulation before people will revere its hilarity. [Oct 2004, p.125]
