Bringing the thugs, the strippers, the spoiled brats, and other freaks to the next round of Outlaw Golf has seen the game grow in terms of amount of things to do, but it's still stagnating in terms of overall game design.
  2. Offers up an extremely solid experience that is simple enough to play for anyone, but deep enough that it can become very competitive.

It is intended for those of us who found humor in this summer's comedy film, "Dodgeball": if you like crass-but-sarcastic-and-witty humor, you can't go wrong.
  4. Though the game may have its frustrating moments, the amount of assistance the computer gives the player is ridiculous. For example, one "ghost shot" is allowed per hole. What this does is show you exactly how far and where the ball would land (and subsequently bounce) if you got a perfect shot. This is a HUGE help (and very cheap) help with chipping.
  5. Determining the lay of the green is near impossible without the slope grid (with is brought up with the white button), and even then, the grid is a square, it doesn't cover the entire green, and is difficult to read.
  6. Even with the well-thought-out online options, the core gameplay is so basic, golf fans won't find this game interesting at all. If you're more the arcade sports player, on the other hand, you'll easily get your $20 worth from this.

Guys will love the game for the eye candy and its quirky humor, but it doesn't have the staying power to keep people interested in the long run.
  8. A decent game but like the first one is too firmly focused away from party games and more on being a golf game.
  9. Never takes itself too seriously and offers up a great alternative from the rest of the pack.
  10. You'll find the solid arcade golf game you've been looking for, but not a whole lot more.
  11. The outrageous characters, puerile sight gags and sarcastic commentary provide some chuckles but the jokes are repeated too often. Fortunately, the controls and ball physics are hard to fault.

It might be a good present for a lonely mate though, but that's about it.
  13. The definition of mediocrity. It is an amusing game with good play mechanics and solid physics. It is also an irritating game with long waits between turns, annoying voiceovers, and silly obstacles that are often not conducive to the type of golf game this is.
  14. Once you turn off the commentary and cut scenes, this is a very solid golf game, but if you're only getting one golf game this year - for ten dollars more, you might get more birdies for your buck with "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005".

Part of the fun is watching everyone's humorous club swings and listening to their foul mouths after shanking a ball. Sadly, the jokes start repeating after the front nine. [Nov 2004, p.140]

Considering the game's budget price tag of $20 is less than the green fees for most public golf courses, the repetitive nature of the sound and animations is hardly an issue if you don't mind some spanking, slapping, grinding, stroking, and gyrating in your golf.

Outlaw Golf 2 is actually a great game, but wading through the cut-scenes and commentary is hard work unless your sense of humour stopped developing when you were 15. [Jan 2005, p.115]

The lasting appeal is great, the graphics aren't half bad, the sound is pretty good, yet the gameplay falls far below par to my golfing expectations.

The only area where "2" really shines is in its Xbox Live support, which is among the best in golf games today. Otherwise, you can expect the same dodgy controls and eighth grade fart jokes as before. [Nov 2004, p.99]

Completed the tour on 5 characters in OG 1 and now that I've play OG 2, I will probably never play OG 1 again. You must like childish Completed the tour on 5 characters in OG 1 and now that I've play OG 2, I will probably never play OG 1 again. You must like childish humor to like this game, but it will make you laugh and the game play is fantastic. I'm starting to seem some resemblance to Tiger Woods golf. Every part of this game has been improved. Full Review »
