  1. The AI is sound for single-player games and the online capabilities are truly amazing.
  2. One of the most interactive football titles to date with some of the best game play I have ever seen in a football game.

But the key is gameplay and control, and that's where Fever’s a little rough around the edges.
  4. 75
Its single-player mode can be frustrating, the player models are lumpy and odd looking, and the on-the-field gameplay achieves the impressive feat of feeling both too slow and too fast at the same time.
  5. Microsoft keeps inserting small innovations when what is really needed is a major overhaul to the entire game engine.

I also have to wonder after 3 years why the game still has some things that have not been fixed? It's not that Fever is a bad game. It just seems to be missing that final polished look and play about it.

Still a ways to go if Fever is gonna compete with "Madden." [Nov 2003, p.54]

Quarterbacks don't throw perfect passes every time and the player as QB in this game is on his own as far as pass accuracy. People buy Madden for the name not the game! It's the same with the SONY Playstation compared to the XBOX. I could care less about the name on the package, I want quality and realism. Expand

Sure, you can make it easy, but Reand and Lead passing is rather challenging to learn. Once you get the hang out of it, you can be very successful, but that takes time. I was shocked to see X-Play from TechTV give it a 3 out of 5. NFL Fever is better than madden. You cant even play online with madden, I mean, if you have an xbox, why do you want to play football single player. Fever with XSN lets you play tourneys, season, and other features online against REAL PEOPLE. Can we say WOW? EA Sports NFL Madden 2004 cant do this. ESPN Football can only play single games online with the xbox. OK enough with the online play. The graphics are great, which every football game on the xbox has this. Its a nice addition with the coaches and players on the sideline. The franchise mode is good, but not as good as madden's. Definatly better than ESPN's. If the graphics, sound, and franchise mode were ahead of the competition, this game would be a 10 out of 10. But because of that, I give it an 8 out of 10. Expand
