GMR MagazineWhat would have been the game's ultimate saving grace - infinite human opponents online, courtesy of Xbox Live - isn't available either. [June 2003, p.75]
-
This game does not use the Xbox anywhere near its potential.
-
Why in heaven's name would you make the first game ("Capcom Vs SNK 2") have Live, and not this one? If Namco can toss Link into "Soul Caliber 2," the least Capcom could have done was tossed in Blanka.
-
Does a good job of topping the other hit Capcom fighter, "Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO." It provides better control with more familiar characters, as well as adding the tagging feature.
-
A fun but dated 2D fighter with too high a price and no new features.
-
An obsolete 3-year-old fighting game that doesn't even support online play as was originally promised.
-
Electronic Gaming MonthlyIt is fair to compare MVC2 to the less pixilated, more balanced, online-enabled, and just plain superior "Capcom vs. SNK2." Against that heavyweight, this codger has no chance. [June 2003, p.112]
-
TotalGames.netThere's plenty to discover and see, but because it's almost just as easy to button bash as it is to perform the moves properly: the longevity is seriously affected.
-
Just imagine what it could've been like if Capcom had put some effort into it.
-
Should have been pushed back even further if only to deliver the key online element.
-
While it does retail for 10 bucks less than most other brand new games, marketing a 5 year old game for 40 bucks is still ridiculous.
