A three-year old port absolutely unchanged without LIVE support and it's $39.99? I don't think so...

Great game but, with the "power of X", youd figure that they would fix the character pixelation that the other consoles didnt! And whats with that dam purchase system!

Well I saw the X2 movie and played the game and BOUGHT the X2 game and stumbled across this little gem. Bought it and am HOOKED! So many characters, so many moves, so many possibilities. If you don't have this game, get it! And whoever you are who gave it a 0, maybe you should try again.

I love these characters. The xbox d pad isn't really good enough for proper control in this game, but otherwise it's a solid game. Capcom's sure milking it though. You'd think they could have added something to this port.

The game is really fun but it's hard to beat the first few times in arcade and the score attack is pretty cheap.

First off, to truely appreciate this game you gotta love 2-D fighters. After that, who DOESN'T love tag team matches? Being able to use up to 56 playable characters is great! And I enjoyed unlocking all of the secrets. It just adds to the length of play. It's still fun against the cheatin AI, but it's all about 2 player smack talk. What the hell is this magazine talking about. If it wasn't for nostalgic game play people would still be pawing over DOA3.. Come on now it's a great port from the arcade, and dreamcast. Also where else can you have an extreme Malee of superheros kicking the shit out of each other...F... XBOX Mag.

Theres the good, the bad, and the ugly with this game. The good? A perfect arcade port. You can expect all of the insanity from your neighborhood time-out in the comfort of your living room (and imagine if you have bose surround sound like I do! with a flat screen!) . This game is bar far the most fun I have had with any game. The Bad? It takes a while and some work to unlock everything. Theres the good, the bad, and the ugly with this game. The good? Not your cup of tea if you want to unwrap the game and start up a rousing tourney. The Ugly? The controls suck!! It's almost unbearable to have the perfect fighter to play, and the worst controls to use. Ideally, the PS2 controls would be perfect, Xbox's controls are inaccurate and sometimes unresponsive, not to mention a bit akward. All in all, a damn good time, but it takes some getting used to and may even make you yearn for an arcade stick. Expand

Marvel vs capcom 2 is one of the best games out. It is worth every penny , if you dont own it then buy it. But giving it a 0 was simply stupid.

What would have been the game's ultimate saving grace - infinite human opponents online, courtesy of Xbox Live - isn't available either. [June 2003, p.75]

A stale and astoundingly pixelated port of a two-year-old Dreamcast game. [Fall 2002, p.121]

For a game that has been around for three years, it still performs admirably and stacks up well against today's most sophisticated fighters in terms of graphics and replay value. [May 2003, p.91]
