The younger kids who are unable to grasp the more complicated aspects of Tony Hawk will love the simplified trick system and adults and teens will find the challenging mission objectives highly entertaining.
-
It's cute, and it's fun to play. Parents can definitely breate easy with the E for Everyone rating, and know this game is built with kids in mind. And that is a good thing.
-
When it comes to a great program for younger gamers, Disneys Extreme Skate Adventure is a bonafide success. Older, more experienced players may get a chuckle or two from the animation, but will not find it much of a challenge.
-
Official Xbox MagazineSurprisingly fun. [Nov 2003, p.130]
-
DESA should be given serious consideration by all parents looking for a good game for younger children whether for themselves or some good family competition, especially if you are a parent that can overlook the nefarious advertising.
-
The simplified control scheme and the tried and true Tony Hawk game engine make this a perfect game for children to jump right into.
-
An excellent merging of two popular properties, this is one "kiddie" game that you shouldn't overlook just because it has the Disney name stamped on the side.
-
One of the best examples of a game that appeals and caters to a younger age bracket while still maintaining a level of gameplay quality and intellectual decency lacking in so many other "kids games."
-
Game InformerWhat cold be more fun than a kid with an enormously swollen head, a mohawk, and red clown shoes busting 80,000 point combos? [Oct 2003, p.139]
-
What this all boils down to is a solid and intuitively controlled skating game that is optimized for younger players but also quite fun for fans of the Tony Hawk series.
-
Personally, I don't have any place for a game like this on my shelf when I already have the whole Tony Hawk dynasty. Would I recommend it to my friends that have kids? Surely.
-
Won't hold the Tony Hawk pro's attention for long, but it's still a fun, well-designed skating game.
-
Xbox Nation MagazineThere's nothing to complain about in terms of the game's controls or its trick system; they've been tuned to perfection. [Oct/Nov 2003, p.87]
-
Minor grumbles, which hardly undermine the effusive charm and proven appeal of the Disney licence(s). As a gift for hyperactive siblings, it hits the spot. As an Extreme Skate Adventure, it lacks the power of 'X'. Tony Hawk, perhaps?
-
Cheat Code CentralYou'll notice that the Xbox version is the better of the bunch. All console versions are colorful and share the same characters and expansive environments but the Xbox just presents it better.
